However, Michelle Michaels, who played the role briefly, would've probably been a good replacement because she looked similar to Victoria Principal. Cliff loved Christopher, so he would've had the heart to tell Bobby that Pam died years ago but they probably would've had to still fight him to get her shares if this show had gone with the actual continuity of the original and the movies.

Cynthia Cidre destroyed new Dallas ! Pam should back in revival and that be full circle close on this reboot.Only Cidre wasn't too happy to see Victoria on show and offer was to shameful for star of her size
This episode was amazing.....for a split second we thought we were going to see Victoria Principal return to the show as Pam only to found out she died (before the original series even ended in 1989).
What a ridiculous storyline🤢 Dallas began with Bobby and Pam, they were the "point" of the show and their relationship was epic and the reboot shows a cold, distant Bobby and a Pam that would keep contact with Cliff and not Bobby🙄 or Christopher...knowing how much she loved them and how much the three of them fought to be together! Crappy writers, horrible ending for an amazing character👎🏻 Thank you, Victoria Principal, for being an epic Pam!
Bobby shud feel upset when he knows that Pam died after she Dallas & she keep distance coz she going to die..What kind of storyline not link with the epic Dallas 🤔
Mark Guerrero no she didn’t. She was never asked. Her actions on the original show stopped any chance of her appearing apparently. Not a popular cast member!
They are all so concerned about Christopher. What about Bobby? He had still loved his wife when she died, didn't he? Before the fake letter that she wrote if not planning to return.
Cliff Barnes didn’t have the brains to know how to steal candy from a baby. How in the hell could he pull that off. Didn’t these producers watch the original Dallas?
Exactly! This is when I stopped watching the reboot! Bobbie loved Pam and I thought the coldness of Bobby in this scene was disgusting! Never watched it after this! Horrible way to tie up this story line!
After the accident, Pam wrote a letter to Bobby, after she saw herself in a mirror - she was very burned & didn't want to scare Christopher. That's why she ran from Dallas.
Truth of the matter that Pam is not Christopher's biological mother. They didn't mention to him that Kristin was his biological mother and Jeff Faraday, not Bobby was actually his real father!
It was established in the original series that Kristen and Jeff were Christopher's parents. Pam and Bobby told Christopher the truth about his adoption.
Could you imagine Bobby Ewing on a random blind date? Blind date: Soooo, tell me more about you. Bobby: Well, I have lived in the same house for 65 years, and most of the time it was with the same family. I have two brothers and one half brother. One brother is an alcoholic who was a drifter because he wanted to run away from my megalomaniac, narcissist brother. The half brother was from my Daddy’s first marriage that we never knew about, and you could only imagine the awkwardness from my niece, yes, she lived there too, when she had an affair with her uncle. As far as marriages, I’ve had two. One died in a painful burning car crash after she announced she was pregnant, and the other died after being shot by terrorists in Paris. Anyway, tell me more about you. Date: Ummmm, I’ll be right back, I have to go to the bathroom
This was soooo ridiculous. The mystery was NOT solved. Pam did not die in 1989. Cliff was on great terms with the Ewing family then. Pam was NOT born in 1950. Her mother was VERY clearly carrying her after election day in 1952. And all of this is just to stick it to VP. All they had to do was have Margaret michaels come on to play Pam or they could have had her sick but alive off camera. There was NO reason to put the viewers thru this stupid, wild goose chase because Hollywood is pissed off at Victoria Principal. They have been trying to make her character meaningless since the opening of 1987-88. Why CAN'T Michaels play Pam at this point???
When I watched this the first time around, I thought it was a total let down, at least they should have recast Pam, however, I've been revisiting Dallas and at least this does tie in with the original exit storyline, even Doctor Gordon was in Pam Ewing Mark 2's final scene back in the old Dallas, so at least it followed on properly.
This was the episode where the entire audience including ME was certain Victoria Principal was going to appear somewhere. Waited and waited. Her name (Pam)had been dropped SO many times in this season it wasnt funny. At this point even a recast for me personally would have worked just to have the character back. This was a let down. Still unclear if Principal was even asked or no to appear but i guess it wouldnt have mattered since she made it clear she wasnt interested in doing so.
I thought I read somewhere the writers/producers were told not even ask Victoria. But in a interview around that time Victoria said as nicely as possible and in other words, no.
It would be nice to know who else was asked back besides Priscilla Presley. Who else said yes or no. Not even sure Susan Howard was interested? Is she retired? We know Morgan Brittany wanted to do it. Steve Kanaly and Ken Kercheval didn't want to do it full time.
Yes, I thought I read that Victoria said she wanted to leave Pam character as it was and she not return. I could be mistaken though. I didn't watch this reboot much at all only a few episodes. For me the original Dallas was "Dallas".
So do I. Pamela was the conscious of the Barnes clan. I am sure that if she had lived that, for Christopher's sake, that she would have had helped Bobby, Sue Ellen, John Ross, and Christopher take down her brother, Cliff, and Ann Ewing's ex-husband.
What is funny is that John Ross and Christopher outwardly pretend they are cousins through their fathers, but they are actually cousins through their mothers.
Barnes Global didn't exist in the original. It was retconned for this series. Barnes-Wentworth Oil was owned by Cliff 100% but he sold it at the beginning of season 12, then entered into a partnership with Bobby at Ewing Oil.
Such a disgrace what they did to a wonderful complex character, it started out on the original show when Victoria left and then to claim Pamela died of cancer, lazy writing, thank God Victoria left and never came back
Poor Poor Pamela! Cliff is a bastard. Bobby knew Pamela more than anyone, I think deep down he knew she was dead the whole time, because the wife he knew would never stay away from him and Christopher for 24 years, hence his remark to Suellen about how he'd mourned Pamela a long time ago.
The reboot ruined Cliff. In the original he was not as evil, had shreds of decency. No way would Cliff act like that. Thus reboot made him into the evil bast*rd he was not.
Pam had seen herself in private when she was able to wake up. She looked hideous. She didn't want anyone to see her like that. That is why she had decided to leave the hospital, & Bobby & Christopher. She didn't want to scare anyone. 😢

This is honestly the only thing that Cynthia Cidre did on this show was right. All of that stuff. Pam was dying. The auto accident. The surgeon trying to repair her face. The 1/3 shares of Barnes Global, all of that was legit. John Ross and Pamela found Christopher’s mothers birth certificate. JR was looking into it. That’s the final piece. Overall, I wish she could have done as good a job on everything else as she did on this though.
I remember the look-a-like actress they brought in to finish telling Pam’s story. But when Cliff found her, she wasn’t too hideous to be seen. She was ill tho, and kept it secret from everyone on Dallas. The Dr. kept her secret. She never told Cliff.

Boy, Ann must have been relieved! lol
Ann was in the original Dallas tv show in the 80s as a one night drunk fling to Cliff or J.R.
@@EagleArrow, it was Cliff. They made Emma Ryland with that one night stand.
Birth date on the certificate is wrong. It was 1952/1953..
I thought I was the only one who noticed that.
Actually yes and no because in Dallas : the Early Years (Still cannon timeline) Pam was already Born in 1951.
Bobby controlled Pam's Wentworth stock. He would have been immediately contacted if Pam died not Cliff.
No, because Pam divorced him.
@@will_it_work She let Bobby control the stock after the divorced. That's why JR brought Lisa Alden into the picture, to manipulate Bobby into investing his Wentworth stock into Westar for JRs planned takeover.
@@will_it_work Since we now know that Pam had died 24 years ago and left her 1/3 share of Barnes Global to her son Christopher. But since Christopher was a minor at the time (he was 7), his father, according to the laws in the state of Texas, would've been Christopher's proxy until he reached his majority.
JR was always right about Pamela. The hurt she caused her son twice now. Christopher would’ve been able to live with the fact that she was in an accident that eventually killed her. Instead, she misleads Bobby and him and causes more pain. JR say what you want about him, but he was right about Pamela.
the same treatment that Mark Grayson had.
Cynthia Cidre destroyed new Dallas ! Pam should back in revival and that be full circle close on this reboot.Only Cidre wasn't too happy to see Victoria on show and offer was to shameful for star of her size
From what I heard Victoria Principal wanted no part of the revival or any reprisal.
Is that your thumbnail creator? because you are gorgeous ❤'
This episode was amazing.....for a split second we thought we were going to see Victoria Principal return to the show as Pam only to found out she died (before the original series even ended in 1989).
Quelle saison ?
What a ridiculous storyline🤢 Dallas began with Bobby and Pam, they were the "point" of the show and their relationship was epic and the reboot shows a cold, distant Bobby and a Pam that would keep contact with Cliff and not Bobby🙄 or Christopher...knowing how much she loved them and how much the three of them fought to be together! Crappy writers, horrible ending for an amazing character👎🏻 Thank you, Victoria Principal, for being an epic Pam!
Alexandra Man the new series accomplished a couple good things ....it finished the character of JR and it gave closure to Pam story
Bobby shud feel upset when he knows that Pam died after she Dallas & she keep distance coz she going to die..What kind of storyline not link with the epic Dallas 🤔
Alexandra Man JR and Sue Ellen WERE Dallas. Pamela was always such an unbelievably selfish woman - self centred me me me!
Mark Guerrero no she didn’t. She was never asked. Her actions on the original show stopped any chance of her appearing apparently. Not a popular cast member!
This was explained years ago
Sadly, the reboot never caught the magic of the original series, the actors were all top notch, it just wasn't the same ☹️
@7:35 - Bullshit he just heard that she died many years ago...his reaction is out of character!
U got a point!
This was before Dr.Gordon became Jigsaw's apprentice.
They read the cliff notes of DALLAS.
He mustv learned a trick or two from jr
After 13 years of crap from JR clearly Cliff "learned" and became just as bad a man as JR ever was.
I don't think Bobby would have just brushed this off. Not for Pam.
Exactly! This is when I stopped watching the reboot! Bobbie loved Pam and I thought the coldness of Bobby in this scene was disgusting! Never watched it after this! Horrible way to tie up this story line!
@@darla_hart, this was what I was talking about when I said bad character development.
After the accident, Pam wrote a letter to Bobby, after she saw herself in a mirror - she was very burned & didn't want to scare Christopher. That's why she ran from Dallas.
I read that they couldn’t find the actor that originally portrayed Dr. Gordon to reprise the role here.
That is true. They wanted to bring back the original actor but he was no longer working so they had to recast
Truth of the matter that Pam is not Christopher's biological mother. They didn't mention to him that Kristin was his biological mother and Jeff Faraday, not Bobby was actually his real father!
Brandon Bowles yes never let the story lines of the the real Dallas stand in the way.
Pam and Bobby told him when he was a child when he found out he was adopted by overhearing his grandma Elle and her husband Clayton talking about it.
Kristen isn't his mom Kristen was blackmailing several people so the question of his father was to remain a mystery to this day
It was established in the original series that Kristen and Jeff were Christopher's parents. Pam and Bobby told Christopher the truth about his adoption.
Yes they did... it was mentioned
🤣🤣🤣. LOL. Just a reminder that Pamela was never pregnant when that accident happened - but hilarious nonetheless
Also reminder that Jock wasn't married to Ray's mom he just shagged her
Well done👏👏👏👏👏
BJ Sully so many comments about this Dallas reboot I've finished watching the original and I'm undecided about the reboot.
You know who I wish played Pam if she returned? Jaclyn Smith
Victoria P was the most gorgeous women I’ve ever seen
Really? Don't see it.
@@wendyrichmond1755 Should've gone to Specsavers...
I wish this was still on.
Pamela Ewing Was Fabulous &Sentional Actress
This was the episode where the entire audience including ME was certain Victoria Principal was going to appear somewhere. Waited and waited. Her name (Pam)had been dropped SO many times in this season it wasnt funny. At this point even a recast for me personally would have worked just to have the character back. This was a let down. Still unclear if Principal was even asked or no to appear but i guess it wouldnt have mattered since she made it clear she wasnt interested in doing so.
Travis Grant they didn't even tried, they never talked to her. Victoria Principal said it.
What do you expect? The actress is not popular with her cast due to her actions on the original. Very difficult and self absorbed apparently!
Even the reboot of this show was good.
It sucks that it got cancelled!
Rocky Racoon I know right
@@ardithbard857 Yes.
Rocky Racoon they could bring this back
@@ardithbard857 True.
I really think there must have been some type of contractual deal that the new series couldn't use any SLs from the original show.
But they used many other ones. Just not this one
Where did "Barnes Global" come from?? The only company Pam, Cliff and Katherine owned together was Wentworth Tool And Dye!!!
Long story short, the person who wrote this show didn't watch the old episodes of Dallas, because she didn't care enough to do so!
Companies names change, companies merge. Wentworth Tool and Dye of the 80s became Barnes Global in the 2010s.
cloverfield911 they also owned Wentworth industries which was bigger than West star even
gphell33 went worth tool and die was part of went worth industries which also includes Barnes went worth oil
Cidre ignored all of that history!
q. How could she not want to see her own son again?
a. Because she didn't want to be a part of the new series.
Well, glad the runaway mummy story was resolved but God, they should be publicly flogged for making Southfork look like an IKEA show room.
That guy’s not a doctor. He’s a high school principal. If you know, you know. And you’re old.
i wish pam didn't die
So do I. Pamela was the conscious of the Barnes clan. I am sure that if she had lived that, for Christopher's sake, that she would have had helped Bobby, Sue Ellen, John Ross, and Christopher take down her brother, Cliff, and Ann Ewing's ex-husband.
Victoria was asked to come back but declined saying Pamela would never leave her son unless she had to as dead.
Victoria didn’t want or need to come back, she moved on to another life decades ago. Dallas was ancient history to her.
Had Pam returned there is one person who would've been great as an aged Pam and that is Tanya Roberts
I think Victoria Principal would’ve resumed her role as Pamela Barnes Ewing
Well, she did reprise the role for the end of the Y2K Family Guy episode.
I always wonder if the reboot show would've survived if Victoria Principal reprised her role as Pamela Barnes Ewing...
I think it would have
What is funny is that John Ross and Christopher outwardly pretend they are cousins through their fathers, but they are actually cousins through their mothers.
I remember. Christopher is Kristen's son which makes him the son of the woman who shot JR.
"Dr Gordon..?" Dallas and Saw takes place in the same universe!!! O.O;;;
either that or he gets mawled by rottweillers in Damien. Is there a Mr Gump, Mrs Gump? I always liked Mr Gorpley in Perfect Strangers
Wouldn't Barnes Global not have existed in 1989 when pam died? Wasn't it Barnes Wentworth? Can't make sense of this
Barnes Global didn't exist in the original.
It's Sue Ellen. And why is Cliff a bastard? It was Pam who ran out on her entire family.
Pam had seen herself in private when she was able to wake up. She looked hideous. She didn't want anyone to see her like that. That is why she had decided to leave the hospital, & Bobby & Christopher. She didn't want to scare anyone. 😢
@@wendyrichmond1755 Cliff, is a bastard because he allowed Christopher, to spend 24 years of life believing that his mother had abandoned him.
He committed such a dick move, because he knew that Christopher, stood to inherit 1/3 of Barnes Global upon his. Mother's death.
En français please
Yes
Jesus Christ I just want to hug Jesse Metcalf in this scene
I just want to hug Jesse Metcalf in general.
@@NOTHEOTHERGUY even better if he's completely naked at the time lol
@@hotgritz4sho , I remember this was in the original show.
I just couldn't get into the new Dallas. ......good thing it was cancelled......
Pan’s gone 😢 Poor Christopher
Porque se tuvo que morir Christopher, hubiera preferido que se quede con elena
Um, that's not Dr. Gordon and Pam was not born in 1950
So whrre is Pam buried
Pam never treated bobby right.
Agreed! Someone with sense!
Very true.
Agree
Pam faisait ce quelle voulait de ce crétin de bobby
They need to do a reboot to tie up the ending
Pam was my favorite character on Dallas.
Damn, my favorite series of all time and I am still not sure what happened to Pam...
Cliff had no right to treat Christopher that way
Season TWO!
After this Show got canceled I consider it not cannon....Pam and Christopher are not dead in my books,Pam returned in 1991 off screen when the show ended.
Bit of a plot hole. Katherine Wentworth didnt die.....she died only on the "dream season".
It was mentioned By Cliff that Katherine had since died ,so though she didn't die onscreen at some point off screen after her last appearance on the original show and before the revival series , Katherine was said to have died .
@@joeyagretti3510 Yes but she was one of the more important secondary characters so an explanation probably shouldve been in order but then again on the revival we SEE Ray and Lucy but have no earthly idea what they've been up to......who they're married to or anything. When they brought back Afton.....Pam's mother and Cliff's former girl,.....Audrey Landers nailed it...We see JR's 2nd wife Callie at his wake but no mention of his KID! The longtime fans deserved more explanation but I think their goal was to limit the number of principal characters.
