My favorite location is the Siofra River area. such great views, a lovely night sky (even if it's false), and I've always liked underground forests. plus, the purple hue of Nokron is quite nice. Favorite Caelid enemy is perhaps Redmane Knights. they look cool and have some neat abilities, and they aren't a total pain like the murder birds

Monsters in Caelid are scaring me shitless despite the fact that they actually is not so dangerous, it's just a design
Basically I feel relieve when see standart undeads/knights here, not a giant dogs and crows (...and I thought it will never get worse than Micolash's chimaeras in Bloodborne lol)

between the free levels, radagon soreseal and flame grant me strength this place ironically houses everything you need to turn on easy mode

Hats off to the artists who conceived Caelid and the devs who took all their ideas and put them all in the game.
It's literally like Hell if Hell is currently suffering from a massive oil spill. If they wanted to make me constantly feel like I'm suffocating just by galloping around Chernobyl Death Valley before I get infected with scarlet rot for the 10,000th time..... they got the point across.

I've been hoping for a "meanwhile in Caelid" meme that just shows all the early game players suffering courtesy of that teleporting chest. This is good enough.

I didn’t get there via the chest, I just followed the path out of curiosity
The moment I saw one of the crows in the distance I started questioning my life choices-
I lost 320k runes to that damn chest.
I dodge rolled away before it could teleport me. I almost let it just out of curiosity. Glad I didn't!
Edit: tried that with patches second chest. Didn't work this time... 🤔

And there's so much more to do! This tourism ad didn't even mention their famous Town of Sorcery that gives you the privacy to explore by having your tour guides be invisible! And of course the Cathedral of Dragon Communion is a site of pilgrimage for many faith casters. Truly a magnificent vacation destination

@@tonyratboy4209 I tried fighting him a bunch before I decided to try a side entrance there and get the site of grace without fighting him. I've fought him since and it's still not a pleasant time.
I haven't even taken the time to properly explore that place every time I've had to ride through it. The very first time I rode through it I was doing a lot of swearing and saying "nope. not interested." and occasionally getting pinged by some spell or something despite weaving around. Also, a lot of "oh, of course they can be invisible, because why the hell not."
And don't forget the beautiful beach and the ocean view as well. If you want peace and quiet, you've come to the right place!

Me thinks they did an IGN Review runthrough of the zone and probably didn't get very far in the game.
I remember my first trip to Caelid. Every 2 seconds something new started chasing me.
I absolutely love the ending, “Grace signal lost.” That surprised and delighted me more than any animation I’ve seen yet. Very clever.
The end with the hurtling meteor that is Radahn killed me!🤣🤣🤣

When I went from Limgrave to Caelid, I fell in love with this game. Caelid is absolutely engorged with visual storytelling, and the enemies are legit nightmare fuel at that stage. I did a lot of my early leveling there and it made Liurnia too easy but I don't regret it, Caelid is fun and hard in a good way.

I will never forget when I first started playing this game and I was either teleported here from a treasure chest oh, I'm pretty sure that's how it happened but I remember being like " we do not belong here. What is that. Dear God what the hell is that ". And then when I saw one of those Terror dogs or whatever the dog things are the things with the giant heads.... I just remember finding West on my little compass and going straight for it
Hahahaha those dogs staring at you from a distance with the red eyes! Creepy as fuck
I love cailid for all my friends early journeys. If you get the grace by the impassable bridge, go towards the dogs and get them to aggro. The soldiers will fight the dogs. All you do is run back to where the grace is and chill behind the building while the area goes to war with itself. Free early runes. You can literally horse it here from the very start right after getting that horse.
My wife stumbled into Caelid via the trapped chest at like level 5. We spent countless hours are the Farm right before Radahns fort passively farming runes.
I stumbled into the portal that takes you to dragons barrow and farmed those tiny dudes for ages.
God I love Caelid for the early game farm potential.
This is excellent, thank you for sharing it :D My favourite location is the golden capital (being vague in case anyone is watching this and hasn’t made it there) and my favourite Caelid enemy is probably the Cleanrot knights because the armour design is cool. Their weapons are pretty awesome as well :)

I remember getting teleported to a crystal mine very early in the game. To say I was absolutely horrified to escape there only to find Caelid for the very first time is an understatement. I ended up getting my ass handed to me by a dog rex!

Ah yes, I remember my first stop at caelid was by accident when I thought I was opening a chest for some great loot and instead got kidnapped a cave a level 1 should not be in
Same. Level one wretch. Butt naked, just a club. I tried to kill the miners...I wasn't doing too bad there. Until I angered the fricking pest on the roof that I didn't see and it stabbed me in the butt with its glaive. I tried to run, queue pest threads up my butthole. I died. It took me three tries to escape that tunnel...then I couldn't teleport, so I rested at the grace. Little did I know I had been whisked away to the AIDS kingdom...
I remember not knowing you could teleport and (somehow) wandered out of caelid. Only for my friend to casually mention it. Still fun though.
Yep. I got killed in that cave, because I was frantically running around trying to find the site of grace and I got killed by that centipede-looking thing up on the platform. I think I hit one miner, saw just how little damage I did at that level, and was in a hurry to leave. I ended up looking up where the site of grace was and I still nearly died thanks to arrows. I peeked outside after I lit the site, saw a massive thing starting to spew poison, and noped right away from there.
My favourite area in Caelid is the Great Jar area with the colosseum. When I first found it in the distance it was so cool and amazing. I really hope they spice things up with the Great Jar and that area as a whole in future updates, since it was so disappointing when I finally got there.
I still remember the moment I got tp-ed to Caelid inside the mine ...
As a newbie, seeing Grace got blocked until I reach one, severely underleveld and get killed dozen times by the Pests ... I feel desperate for the 1st time.
I managed to make it out, only to be greeted by the ominous OST of Caelid, sent chill down my spine. I panic run thru sellia and snatch the Golden Seed, then realized I can tp and peace out
It still one of the most authentic feeling and I will always remember it
Honestly, Caelid is my favorite area in the game so far.
Of all the times I've been to Caelid, I've never tried to go to Caelid.
At least we get free transportation to a mine in Caelid with friendly dogs and centipede alien looking fun guys at a very low level to start our tour. Nothing like splunking that near-by abandoned cave with a river of rot to dodge roll around in. Fun for the whole family.
What's funny is how the road going around the swamp has its grace points set up exactly like some of the lakeside camping grounds here in Texas so that you can get a circular view of the landscape! Since people hated poison swamps so much Miyazaki presented it more like a hellish vacation spot than something that you have to cross and slog through.
When you get to Caelid for the first time and you’re low level AF, feeling like at the bottom of the food chain.

When you start a new game at level 10 and end up in caelid, in the name of exploration.
good things to do in caelid:
1)acquire best weapon from a chest
2)slay big dragon
3)slay bigger dragon
4)eat cookies with radahn
5) enjoy rock climbing in the divine tower
6)fun swimming in the beautiful lake of aeonia
7)try to change the religion of godskin apostle until negotiations fail
8)equip best weapon for maximum drip
9)play nurse for a homeless redhead woman and give her the much needed sewing kit
and last but not least:
10)enter level 10 crook and exit level 70 chad
The teleporting chest is the greatest travel agent ever

For the record, Caelid actually is my favourite area in Elden Ring, specifically *because* every second you're there is basically just the "I'm in danger!" meme. It's funny wandering in there for the first time and finding out that literally EVERYTHING that lives in Caelid wants to murder you, the player, specifically, and it wants to do it RIGHT NOW.
Also, Caelid might be brutal, but at least it has the manners not to force you to run blind through a fucking blizzard while you're fleeing for your life in terror. I STILL want to know what's spawning the ghost Dragonkin Soldiers in Consecrated Snowfield so I can go kill it for revenge.
I've come to call this area Compton. Because you will get jumped if you dont have people from there.

“bird watching” through a telescope pretty much sums up Caelid
people being scared of caelid was always weird, it's a great place to grind out some fantastic items and find some of the most useful gear and techs in the game.
I can't kill those giant birds or dogs, and I'm level 60+. I'm much more of a basher, less of a roller / back-stabby.
@@atlantic_love Let those guards in front of the bridge that leads to Redmane Castle help you with that. Run towards the camp until you see the watchtower with the grace next to it, then go up the rocks and watch them fight.
@@mmyr8ado.360 The area I'm talking about is close to the smoldering church, where you jump over the fence into Caelid. There is a shack and grace. Close to the shack are two birds in a tree.

I had my first run-in with Caelid via the transporting chest in the ruins in the lake, which I imagine is how many people first found Caelid. I managed to find the site of grace to get back to Limgrave, but I decided to take a peek outside first. I walked out, ventured slightly to my right, encountered one of those giant whatever-they're-calleds that spews out poison, and immediately noped out of there. I've gone back to Caelid since, but it was more of an explore to just find sites of grace so I would have an easier time exploring the area later. I just rode past everything while frantically looking for golden glows, lol. I did go and kill Greyroll, which I still feel bad about, but I ventured into that tower near where she was and got killed by some sort of poison bat thing. I figured it was karma for killing a defenseless dragon. Yeah, I know she was dying from scarlet rot and I put her out of her misery, but it still felt so dirty. Better to kill her directly than to kill her babies in front of her. That and one of the babies killed me in one hit when I did try to fight them properly before deciding to do it the cheap way.
The death metal in the back ground really pulled me how many runes
