For me. The first time I saw that red sky I fast travelled back to limgrave
It took me about 4 hours of running around mushroom hell till I realized there WAS a fast travel 😅...this is my first souls born game and in kinda slow.
@@tonydanatop4912 Same. I got lost in caelid and was so scared lol. I avoided every fight and snuck around for an hour. Then I realized I can fast travel back.
When I saw it I was like, ok they are telling me this is hell af and hard
Same
My first encounter was when I emerged from the Sellia crystal tunnel. “These dogs are quite hard when they take ten hits.”
I love Caelid’s design. The dogs eating at dead bodies, the blood red sky, the eerie music. It feels like you are at the bottom of the food chain.
Yeah, I've rarely seen a game where an area is actually scary. Caelid's design is exceptional, and all enemies there fit the environment. It's a scary place, and everything is out to kill you. To top it off, there's great music to fit the environment.
The best thing about Elden Ring is the world design. There are just so many unique jaw-dropping areas, and every time you think you've seen it all, there's a new area with new enemies. Caelid, the underground, the magic castle and the capitol area are outstanding. The white snowmen trumpet guys are also great.
@@gamebuster800 I agree, Caelid is a great area. Have you played Hollow Knight? It has an area called deep nest which is equally scary/creepy
Probably because you are at the bottom of the food chain
@@olivermorris4466 I love deepnest
@@gamebuster800 Every once in a while I go to caledid and explore and always get my ass kicked no matter what
They knew exactly what they were doing putting that chest directly next to the starting area
It was horrifically genius
They give no fucks about their fans lol.
On the plus side, you can get some S tier shit in the area by just running away and dying a few times
Where is that chest? I totally lost it ;-;
@@lucasgabrielgonsalves9626 I only recently started playing this game the other day, I could be wrong but when you first walk out and talk to Varre, go right, where that swamp with the first dragon boss is. There are some ruins at the back of it with 2 sets of stairs going underground surrounded by a bunch of weak undead and some dogs, one has a chest with that twinblade weapon the other one is the trap chest
I found Caelid the same way. Teleported by a trap treasure chest into some spooky alien-looking cave filled with Bloodborne-esque monsters, run for my life to escape enemies far stronger than me only to emerge into a blood red toxic hellscape. It was actually kind of a cool experience looking back. Such a strong feeling of "I should NOT be here. There's something wrong with this place."

Lmao stickbugged, I miss that meme...
Dragonscale blade is the best katana cuz it doesn’t have bleed cheese lmfao
Disturbingly accurate telling of a typical Caelid first time visit, although I never knew Millicent can invade
That's how she loses the arm
Yep and you can tell it's from the past too when you meet her in game. Her hair was down and she still had her right arm.
@@samacvuk she never invaded me?
@@whitegenome22 It's deep inside the swamp in a very strange location
@@samacvuk I met her when she didn't have her arm and gave her the prosthetic
I love how accurate this is, it’s so satisfying going back to that tunnel later on and obliterating everything
So true.
I kept a list of places to return too during my play through for that exact reason, VENGEANCE
The Book of Grudges, Elden Ring Edition

My first time Caelid experience was quite similar. However, at the time of being ensnared by the transporter chest, I had not yet realized fast-travel was even an option. So upon finally exiting the cave and being horrified at the scene, I mounted up and frantically galloped westward through all the monsters. Terrifying!
Hold up, doesn't the game tell you about fast travel the moment you first open up the map?
I DID THE EXACT SAME THING!! Travelled right to the city and I was like "oohhh this is too calm there is something wrong here" then a ghost spawned from nowhere and I ... didn't survive. After that I accidently spawned near one of those marika statue and died soon after.. loosing my 15k runes in early game (2-3h in game). After that I took torrent and flee the city then cried because crows and dogs were after me, found a grace with a dragon dead bodies in a broken building and light it 1 sec before being bite to death. Respawned there and been killed again by a wind attack from a near knights and then I flee till I find the first zone again. Did all that after thinking "I was good in DS3, I'll start with the naked one and it'll be fine..."
@@iota-09 It may, but if so, I missed that notification. Didn't realize you could fast travel until I happened try pushing A on a grace point on the map out of curiosity, some 20-30 hours in!

I found Caelid/Sellia through Siofra River, all the way to Redmane Castle in just the first few hours of gameplay. Feels like I wasn't supposed to be there yet
siofra river was my first location before godcrik. i done radahan before godrik...
That is also how i found caelid
I was doing similar, but when I found I couldn't do s*** to those super slow rock enemies, and when I got one-shot by a celestial cow thing with an arrow the size of me... I figured I wasn't supposed to be there yet.
"feels like i wasnt supposed to be there yet" felt like the narrative of every area of the game...
@@davidwitt5585 Nah, Limgrave, parts of Liurnia, and Weeping Peninsula felt like the starter areas. I just discovered the 'Weeping Peninsula' after Sellia and the entire Boss of the area and mobs were extremely weak at lvl 42. I literally just mashed r1 on everything even the boss of Castle Morne
Caelid is one of my favorite areas. As a huge berserk fan the whole region looks like it was taken straight from berserk. Honestly the whole game feels like that and I couldn’t love it more.
Guts' sword is there too if you didn't already know
i can feel Guts would slice and dice all these mofos
Yeah it's like the Eclipse
Yes can agree Caelid is just a big Berserk reference.
The entire game feels like it's Midland a couple centuries after Fantasia happened
I remember my first time in Caelid I was extremely low level and I was trying to run away from a boss only to find myself in a field surrounded by dragons
Gah lee that's crazy bad luck went from the mid game area to the late game area 💀
@@dragonsinofdrip9023 yeah when I got some levels knocked out I went back and got my revenge lol........
@@Sveten_ talking bout dragonbarrow right? Same shit happened to me cause of that stupid chest. Let me tell you once I got to dragon barrow and found a huge dragon I legit crouched my way out of there undetected. Sometimes the big one alerted my position though.
Caelid is honestly my favorite area in this game. Its just so different from the rest.
But, f*ck those crows.
I thought the dino rexes were going to be the hard part. Little did I know the crows can travel at mach speeds.
Crows are worser than most bosses
Nah fuck that rot place
They still kinda scare me even if I can kill them in 4 hits now. No enemy should be able to keep up with you on horseback for that long and cover so much terrain.
@@Liljay1822 bears (like ones in mistwood) are even worse. Revenants are pure hell. I think it's almost impossible to dodge them.
Was really surprised there weren't any "try right" messages outside the shack you get TPed into. if you go right, the Grace and exist is literally right around the corner. you just have to run. i made sure and put one there when I returned to those mines for revenge later...
No, you can sneak. That's how I did it. Miners ignore you, and the Vermin can't see you.
After pausing for a few minutes I decided to just run to the right and did exactly that, made it to the grace and out the entrance. I didn't realize I could warp out at that point so I went a little further up and found another site of grace. I finally left after I sat at that one. XD
Well people need to go left duh lol
@@TheUnknown983 same thing happened to me couldn't fast travel from the cave so i thought i must have to use another point of grace. then i was pretty unlucky and missed like 3 grace points i walked passed without knowing XD. first i went into the city and got killed by ghost people appearing out of thin air. then i walked along the water to the right. just glad i found out horse was immun to the water and found grace on other side.
@@bevill77 It sounds like that last grace for you is the one I found, near the city, since I was terrified to go up the steps and into the city. From your experience that sounds like a correct assumption. I was so relieved when I was finally able to escape.
Caelid is the best area in the game imo. It feels like I'm in hell fighting demons. And the main boss of this area is just SS tier for me.
The moment I made my way into Caelid (just exploring, not knowing what to expect) it was nothing but bad vibes. Especially the music and the dogs.
That rezero respawn sound xD I actually hear it in my inner self when I die and respawn all the time
It’s such a great touch to the video because that’s exactly how it feels😂
It always feels creepy listening to it, and I love it
right, that's what it was from!
I didnt knew millicent invades you, every day i learn something new in this game
I got invaded by her, completed her questline and still didnt realize it was her that incaded me until I watched this video lol.
I actually knew her as a invader first before I knew she was a NPC while farming for the Cleanrot armor and the halo scythe
Actually is one of the sisters becouse ypu noticed that this one has both arms
she uses some kind of incomplited waterfowl dance too
that's how she loses her arm actually. because of the rot she is starting to lose her mind
As someone who was impulsively filling in her map, I remember strolling through Caelid--horribly underlevel and unprepared for the enemies but confident my strange goat-horse could get me out of a bind--and my eyes catch on some strange crusty structure off the road
At first I think it's a giant crab (because I thought the growths were barnacles) and so I stare at it for a second, still approaching on my own little Confessor feet
Before I realize it's fecking DRAGON and mouse-logic prompted me to immediately sprint off the road even though it was still sleeping and perfectly harmless but holy feck did my heart stop when my brain pieced together wtf I was seeing XD
Same, my friend told me to kill the giant sleepy dragon there, I had fought greyoll by then and was terrified of dragons and when i saw BUNCH of dragons in caelid i was like NOPE, IM OUT OF HERE AFTER GETTING THESE FREE RUNES
Damn that was good! I remember seeing so many notes of despair outside that tunnel saying they wanted to go home. I felt the same.
Before I started Elden Ring I told myself I would follow the story markers first and not do anything silly...so anyway, there I was, level 1, loincloth and a stick, Caelid.
It took me 2 hours to walk back to the start because I didn't realise the teleport trap wore off.
oof
How to leave this place???
@@lgm8230 go right and run past all enemies, then sit at the site of grace and exit the tunnels. You should be able to teleport back to Limgrave but I'd recommend just saying fuck it and running past all the enemies to grab items and stuff. This actually gets you a pretty decent int staff early on (sadly it's not upgradeable but has an S- scaling in intelligence and it boost gravity spells which are amazing especially early on and make so.e boss fights very easy) and your first armor set if you're playing wretch and perfume bottles which can be used in crafting spreadable go based explosive later on.

This is amazing dude your editing is hilarious and this topic is so relatable right now lol
Pro tip for new players:
Just walk out of the cave exit (right next to the Site of Grace). Then you can fast travel away.
Lol, started playing 4 days ago and did exactly that just to see how fast travel works. Didn't know people had problems with it in the area. Btw, no level up Lion's Castle (or however it's called) run is fun!
The sfx usage in this was great! Giving your character Leon's voice was definitely hilarious since his lines would fit so well for the situations in this game.
Since you were probably REALLY confused why you couldn’t teleport even after resting.
With caves in ER. You can’t fast travel to other divine graces while inside UNLESS you kill the area boss there. Once you do, the return to entrance teleport thing is useless, since you could just teleport to the entrance grace while still inside anyway.
What you talkin about? I teleport to the grace in caves all the time. You just have to die first.
He could also rest till midday or so and then teleport back
He could’ve just walked out of the cave when he was at that grace too then teleported
Yeah
But that was the entrance.
He could literally just go outside from the entrance... Did people seriously fight fallingstar beast instead of go out of the entrance to escape sellia? Lmfao
Not everyone knew that at the time.
caelid is nightmare fuel
man, Caelid became my favorite region of the game in the shortest time; the way I got to it was pretty different to the one in this video tho, I was exploring Siofra river until I got to the final part of the lower zone, out of curiosity I used a stonesword key that activated an elevator and that lead me to a canyon in Caelid. I reached a Marika statue and then fell to access a new zone, the Aeonia swamp. Though I was underleveled (lvl 30 lols) I quickly became addicted due to how amazing the scenary was, and how good the drops from the enemies were. Long story short I looted everything I could access from the region (even finished the Divine tower) and now all that's left is clearing Dragonbarrow and Redmane Castle. This is why this game is great, you can basically create your own story from random situations like these. I had just finished Stormveil and ignored Raya Lucaria for a whole week. Crazy.
"OOH! Piece of candy!" Is the best representation of what it feels to see that little light of an item as you travel the lands between.
Basically every enemy in Caelid is a physical representation of alex jones mind.
@BearSeek Berserker No radhan is Alex Jones and scarlett Rott is the media
You mean what Hunter Biden and Joe Biden having their minds right?
The first time I activated that trap I just wanted to get the freak out of there and that region in general but since I didn’t have the map for that area I ended up in the sorcery town instead the whole experience was a nightmare 😭
Hahaha same for me tbh. Though I found the rotten stray ashes at least and that let me cheese Margit so at least I gained something from that trauma
It was horrible, but I loved it all 😈
I almost quit the game AAHAHAH

I have never laughed so hard at something that almost made me rage quit. The Re:Zero sound affects sent me

These Re:Zero sound effects are gold
It's funny; last night I fell from a cliff in some other map and when I finally hit the ground, it said 'Caelid'.
This video was hilarious. I love the fact that some people actually gave up on the game entirely because of the loss of runes lol 🤣
Miyazaki had the Samurai starter classes in mind when he made that Dungeon boss and I love him for that
When I went here I couldn't even fast travel after leaving the dungeon... because Melina wanted to talk to me to send me to Roundtable Hold. It took me half an hour to figure it out.
I just ran back home to Limgrave lol
Melina was like "Goddamn it that idiot"
How to escape???

I didn’t know the trapped status would be lifted by resting, so I found the way out of that mine and just kept walking. And walked aaaaaaallllll the way out of Caelid, crying the entire time. Ten miles, uphill, up to my knees in scarlet rot.
This was fantastic, i loved the editing and the style- was very entertained.

Yo the editing on this is supreme haha!
Once I learned you just go down out of crystal mines of hell. And don't go near the middle or millicent will invade. Caelid wasn't so bad lmao also on horseback solved most of the problems 🤣

Ah yes Cealid, good memorys. I basicly explored 50% of Cealid and 80% of Dragonbarrow when i was stuck on Margit. Just riding through everything and collecting everything i saw. Gave me some good shit. After being chased by way to many dragons and getting the crap beaten out of me i returned to Margit as a Man. Neat expierence
Lmao that Re:zero re sound effect lmao 😂
Thats the content i was looking For
That was FUN! Thanks!
I went to Caelid on accident, got through a portal in the beginning of the game , close to the Forest, without defeating any boss, showed up right behind the Winged Black Knight, so many fucking dragons, ended up going all the way to Limgrave(dying a few times along the way) bc i liked how the new map looked and didn't want to just flee.
That explains my emotions perfectly when I entered this god damn trap! When I found the exit and entered Caelid, I saw one of this crows for the first time. First I thought at the distance, it is not big until I went closer to look. I was wrong, I was so wrong 🤣😂 And this damn big rex dogs.
This is an editing masterpiece

This is great. It reminds me of a mod for fallout 4 that replaces all the deathclaw's audio with alex jones quotes, its brilliant.
This exact scenario happened to me early game and from what I've seen, countless others had this happen to them as well. I will say though, I got through it without it being too hard. I sneaked through a lot of it to get out. Everyone talking about how it sucked I assume didn't use the sneak mechanic lol
Ok this was hilarious. Well done sir!
I really enjoyed watching this
What is the music from 0:20 from? I'm racking my fucking brain trying to think of it.
Re zero
Re Zero Witch's cry
The worst part is there's only 2 of these that have been discovered so far and the other one is harder to find so you go through the entire game completely paranoid about the chests and might not even have it happen again, Miyazaki really does get more sadistic with age.
Suprisingly well done

Loved the RE: Zero edits! Quality content
Man... I loved my misfortune when I opened that chest. I was "smart" to not go past the Tree sentinel in the beginning and went east... I didn't met Melina and was teleported there. I didn't know about fast travel, so yeah... I went to Limgrave by foot following the mapless path in my map not knowing about the little obelisks holding the maps... when I got to the church, I learned about the programmed invaders and figured out that was programmed because it invaded me in the same spot again with the same name, but first time? I was like "WHAT THE F*#$, CAN I GO HOME?" I felt so hopeless and so angry at the "invader" LMAO... but that taught me a lot on how to play the introductory "levels".
