That leap over the Golem's strike by Godfrey was 10/10, honestly. Edit: I'm fairly certain the Grab by Horaoh Loux was counted as a Riposte by the system, as grabs are technically backstabs/critical strikes. That was likely why it did a ri-donk-ulous amount of damage.
I wonder how many of these fights would have gone differently if some of the attack animations weren't hardcoded to attack a player-sized target, and not a ~50 foot tall laser golem.
And also the fact that bosses don't take advantage of stance break. I know it shows up in most of these boss vs boss videos, but the golems are really screwy if you don't use the stun critical hit.
Was cool to see Rennala actually use her summons in one of these fights. Normally she gets one shot and doesn't get to use them. She really pulled out all the stops and did pretty well for only the second boss in the game.

I see players technically get near its location all the time in videos, but never actually go to it. Never would have known without this video bringing it up. Thank you for this.
From other EvE videos I've seen that some bosses do their Riposte animation so I'm guessing grab attacks work like Ripostes and since Golems take several times more critical damage than normal enemies, Hoarah Loux ended up doing 19K damage in a single grab

I figured Placidusax would have it in the bag since his laser show is even more impressive, but alas his AI didn't use it.
he scream
he tried to at the very end, but the wind up for it was a little too long
He uses his laser move at like 10% hp only, so its a stretch for him to survive long enough to use it
Just like a few other bosses, Placi has to go through a few animations/attacks that activate after certain health thresholds before he can use lasers. Two teleport slams and be below 50% I think
These folk are right. The full animation starts with the second meteor attack, then the 3 red lightning bolts, then the laser. He is supposed to be facing you tho so I believe it would have shot in the wrong direction anyway
I love how Godfrey always seems to take the fights seriously
Well I cannot take this thing seriously until I am shown its location, been all over Calid and never found it. And I mean literally everywhere.

I absolutely love how they both decided to just take a quick nap.
The golem vs ricard felt like the last wounded warrior trying to fight off a demon until the very end.
It felt almost inspiring.
Godfrey and Maliketh: "Once I reach phase 2 you're dead"
Malenia: "Phase 2?"
Tbf waterfowl is basically phase 1.5
@@bg357wg 🙃
@@bg357wgdont forget the stupid health-steal on all the attacks.
Also, maliketh phase 2 doesn't give him full health.
I really wish somebody mod maliketh to be in his real form throughout the fight.
Yeah, just shows how absolutely busted her heal on hit and waterfowl dance are. 6k dmg in one move and immediately back to full health.
To be fair Godfrey didn't really need to be in phase 2, if he'd stunned the golem out of the lasers he would've finished in phase 1 just fine.
His weakness seems to be hitboxes. Couldn't hit that fire giant for his life lmao
They are, you can hear the crit sound when malenia grabs you.
I wonder how many of these fights would have gone differently if some of the attack animations weren't hardcoded to attack a player-sized target, and not a ~50 foot tall laser golem.
The golem is also coded to attack a player-sized target. The fire giant battle would have been much cooler if he wasn't.
@@LrdOfTheBlingsactual fire-giants shield bash?
And also the fact that bosses don't take advantage of stance break. I know it shows up in most of these boss vs boss videos, but the golems are really screwy if you don't use the stun critical hit.
8:04, I love how he starts walking towards the door... "Well, onto the next boss."
Was cool to see Rennala actually use her summons in one of these fights. Normally she gets one shot and doesn't get to use them. She really pulled out all the stops and did pretty well for only the second boss in the game.
She's the third boss
Ye, if she had a bit more health she probs would've won, or if the golem just didn't have that ridiculous amount of health comparable to the fire giant lmao
She?
I really wish that the permanently glowing Halberd of this absolute juggernaut was a unique weapon in the game.
Imagine if it’s AoW summoned one of those orbs, too.
Hopefully in the dlc
Even if the AoW had the orbs fire a single quick shot in succession, rather than firing a continuously sustained beam, that would be _SO cool._
The Golem's Halberd has long been one of my weapons of choice in *Elden Ring* and with the glowing blue Golem's Great Arrows being _such_ a rare drop and pain to farm, I wouldn't be surprised if we got some more stuff related to them in *Shadow of the Erdtree* - even if it's not this exact weapon.
The closest thing is the Watchdog Staff and its unique AoW, albeit those are projectiles and not lasers.
@@joshuakim5240 Sorcery of the Crozier is a really cool, unique AoW
Man this could have been a dope weapon drop. Magic version of Goldems Halbred with a unique ash of war. It would be OP with the magic lasers.
Seriously was hoping for that, but all I got was a regular halberd. So disappointing
I love how the very first 2 fights are so different Renala actually put up a good fight but the godrick got obsoletely dogged on
Godrick barely registered anything 😂
poor man got swatted like a fly
Golem just went there and BONK him on the second phase
I love how the Fire Giant makes everything in the game look small by comparison.
You'd think Sir Gideon, the All-Knowing would have been wise enough to step aside from those downward slams lol
The way Morgot just got SLAPPED in the middle of that spear charge was hilarious
While fighting Godfrey, Golem literally got folded lol. Such a great fight
This was fantastic, and 24:12 is my favorite part! 🖤😆
24:05 Godfrey got hit by the beams once and decided enough was enough.
i have given thee curtesy enough
Also he did 10k damage with that slam. Does that slam do damage based on max HP? Because I don't remember getting one shot by that. Close but no where near 10k.
@@SSmitar its a percentage of max health i believe could be wrong tho

Was looking for this, I thought "Wow this is going to be good!"
he doesnt dodge it tho
25:03 even tho melenia got hurt her attack really did look like she dodge perfectly
Huh. The camera being pulled this far back helped me figure out that his raining skulls are actually tied to a unique mechanic. That fight is full of surprises.
Also, crazy that this golem is in the vanilla game, just way off to the side where no one needs to go. I see players technically get near its location all the time in videos, but never actually go to it. Never would have known without this video bringing it up. Thank you for this.
Theres actually a reward there from the paintings you can find. Good if ur a bow build. All i'll say.
From other EvE videos I've seen that some bosses do their Riposte animation so I'm guessing grab attacks work like Ripostes and since Golems take several times more critical damage than normal enemies, Hoarah Loux ended up doing 19K damage in a single grab
That makes a lot of sense, never would've thought of that
It's a shame none of the other grab attacks worked, Astel probably could've won otherwise.
Man Rykard really conjured all of hell for that.
Sho Miyazawa creating the most fire boss ost possible for godrick when he literally gets folded by a small breeze:
He's litterly a early stage boss
I gotta say, I like how in Elden ring the main bosses are not the be all end all of power, that there are special beings out there who can dominate even the demigods themselves. It makes the world feel more alive to me.

She didn't have a chance but Rennala put up a hell of a fight!
You could see some strategy there. She used her dragon to distract the golem, then blasted it with a Full Moon. She pulled out a Comet Azur while it was staggered. I almost believed in her, then I took a closer look at the health bars.

Gotta give it to him, not even LMSH broke her poise that quick. My boy one stroked that rotussy
I loved that last laser blast on Radagon, how the camera focuses on him and the Golem just ducks outta there as fast as he can lol, then just throws a rock back at him for good measure XD
seeing hoarah loux do a powerbomb on the golem is hillarious. My headacanon now is that he was doing wrestling moves on the fire giants and only started calling himself godfrey after that conquest
When Maliketh goes into his second form... that's when the real fun begins.
This could’ve been the one to drop the Golem armor. They had golem armor in the series before, and the design of the golems in this game was really cool. Pretty disappointed it wasn’t armor you could get.
It's especially disappointing considering you can get the golem weapons. Who wouldn't want to cosplay a golem in pvp? lol
That'd be Havel's armor V2
It doesn't drop anything, other than runes lol
