Hi Neeraj , just passed my exam all thanks to your videos they were really helpful and to the point
did u go through the syllabus documents also or only the videos
@@sureshsubramaniyam7980 only videos
@@sasurji740 nice this gives me hope. did you do it online or in the test center? if online then how does the process look like? Do I need a camera on? Is someome watching me all the time? Talking to me?
@@imperius1158 i gave the exam online and yes there is an invigilator that keeps a check on you through front cam
@@sasurji740 did you have to share your screen? I'm guessing yes to make sure you weren't cheating?
Thanks for your videos. They really helped. Easily passed my exam today.
Iam so nervous. I am writng mine tomorrow
And I am struggling with Chapter 4
Question 3 : Review Leader is considered same as Moderator, so option B seems to be more relevant but not sure. Please help in understanding it better.
I am confused a little bit. If scribe is optional in Walkthrough then why this is the right answer for this question and why not informal review or inspection?
I believe the fact that it is led by the author makes walk through be the correct answer.
Hi Neeraj,
Two things which are not covered in the entire chapter 3 tutorials are, System analysis tools and cyclomatic complexity.
I don't know how to calculate cyclomatic complexity and what exactly it is.
Hi Sagar,
Either you are referring a wrong source to compare the tutorials or you need additional details beyond syllabus. These tutorials are kept specific to the official syllabus which can be found on istqb.org and these two topics are not covered in the syllabus. Please refer to boards syllabus to be aligned.
@@TMSQUARETECH I was asked those questions in the exam which I had given in December.
Moreover, all the questions were totally different from the syllabus. I had referred to your videos and book of ISTQB 2018 By Dorothy Graham. But the questions were totally different.
So relatable, i was also initially distracted by option one and two in question one.
Thanks for valuable feedback..
Thank you so much for the sample questions
It's my pleasure
In chapter 3.1 it's clearly mentioned that Communication between Team members improves (at - 4:32 minutes). So why can't option 3 be right?
Hi Akshay
You are right by saying that. But this point applies to Static Testing not Static Analysis. Option C is referring to static analysis which for code not requirements. Hope this clarifies your concern
Hi Neeraj,
Can you please explain these types of questions?
You have been asked to take part in a checklist-based review of the following excerpt from the
requirements specification for a library system:
Librarians can:
1. Register new borrowers
2. Return books from borrowers
3. Accept fines from borrowers
4. Add new books to the system with their ISBN, author and title
5. Remove books from the system
6. Get system responses within 5 seconds
Borrowers can:
7. Borrow a maximum of 3 books at one time
8. View the history of books they have borrowed/reserved
9. Be fined for failing to return a book within 3 weeks
10. Get system responses within 3 seconds
11. Borrow a book at no cost for a maximum of 4 weeks
12. Reserve books (if they are on-loan)
All users (librarians and borrowers):
13. Can search for books by ISBN, author, or title
14. Can browse the system catalogue
15. The system shall respond to user requests within 3 seconds
16. The user interface shall be easy-to-use
You have been assigned the checklist entry that requires you to review the specification for
inconsistencies between individual requirements (i.e., conflicts between requirements).
Which of the following CORRECTLY identifies inconsistencies between pairs of requirements?
a) 6-10, 6-15, 7-12
b) 6-15, 9-11
c) 6-10, 6-15, 9-11
d) 6-15, 7-12
Hi Rachita,
Here is the link to the playlist where I have discussed this question - ruclips.net/video/EwLegJ7HnyM/видео.html
@@TMSQUARETECH but in that tutorial this question is not discussed. Please provide right ans for this que.
the answer is B.
Considering the potential inconsistencies:
• 6-10 - If librarians should get system responses within 5 seconds, it
is NOT inconsistent for borrowers to get system responses within 3
seconds.
• 6-15 - If librarians should get system responses within 5 seconds, it
is inconsistent for all users to get system responses within 3
seconds.
• 7-12 - If borrowers can borrow a maximum of 3 books at one time it
is NOT inconsistent for them to also reserve books (if they are onloan).
• 9-11 - If a borrower can be fined for failing to return a book within 3
weeks it is inconsistent for them to also be allowed to borrow a book
at no cost for a maximum of 4 weeks - as the length of valid loans
are different.
Of the potential inconsistencies, 6-15 and 9-11 are valid inconsistencies.
Neeraj sir
can you guide in the following question. it is not from this site. what I understand the answer should be 1 as in reviews we detect issues but not fixed it but as per other site it is 3. which is very confusing and also question looks weird too.
Which rules should NOT be followed for reviews
1 Defect and issues should be identified and corrected
2 The product is reviewed not producer
3 All member of reviewing team is responsible for the result of review
4 Each review has clear predefined objective
Hi Shewta,
Yes, the question is very weird and doesn't meet the expectations of the understanding of reviews. I don't think there is an appropriate option which I can pick and recommend you. Instead, let me give a justification.
In a review process, we do find defects and fix them. The review is to find the issue in work products but never used to review the author of the work product. Members responsible for the success of a review are author, manager, moderator, and reviewers but that is not how they can address it in option 3. And every single review has a unique objective which is the first activity of planning. Thus, pls ignore this question and have confidence in your understanding. All the best.
@@TMSQUARETECH Thank you
Hi Neeraj,
Are there any tutorials by you on CTAL?
Yes all 3 of them please navigate to Playlist segment on my channel
I Don't understand this, why you are picking only one attribute while answering while questions suggests that all the attributes are applicable. As per me correct answer is 'inspection'
Very good question sharad,
But an inspection is not led by an author and inspection is the most formal review where everything is mandatory. So we can’t ignore anything.
Moreover this is there trick what you got caught with. Each point is important even if one contradicts you cant call it as answer.
@@TMSQUARETECH Agree, Thanks for replying. I would say question is wrong here. Question says that 'The reviews being used in your organization have the following attributes' this means that all the options provided in answer should be from one review process.
I appreciate your observation but still if you refer the syllabus it says
Main purposes: find defects, improve the software product, consider alternative implementations, evaluate conformance to standards and specifications
Possible additional purposes: exchanging ideas about techniques or style variations, training of participants, achieving consensus
Individual preparation before the review meeting is optional
Review meeting is typically led by the author of the work product Scribe is mandatory
Use of checklists is optional
May take the form of scenarios, dry runs, or simulations
Potential defect logs and review reports may be produced
May vary in practice from quite informal to very formal
may be there are optional (which means you may opt for it)but inspection doesn't have an author leading it. Well at the end its not me its not you, its ISTQB which determines the conclusion. :)
@@TMSQUARETECH As you explain in your video that walkthrough does not have roles of scribe so how answer of que. 4 is walkthrough
Hi Jitendra,
Scribe is common for many other types of review. If you heard me well I also said that the first point of each review is unique which creates the difference between types of review. Walkthrough is led by Author which doesn't happen in any other types. Please listen to video in details to prepare well for the exam. All the best.
Hi sir,
Can you please explain question no. 4 again. It's confusing
Please join my live session on Saturday and remind me this question will explain in detail. It will be 7pm to 8pm IST
Your Video have good content but difficult to understand with matching real world problem. You just rephrase the content written in your slides. At least it not good fr me to understand the content explained by you.
I am writing the exam tomorrow and I am nervus. Busy doing revision
Don't worry all the best
Hello. I failed the exam. I couldn't finish answering all questions.
Apparently I was supposed to click native language since my home language is not English. I got 62.5%
Good luck for your next attempt. Keep it up. @@phillipkhunwana3219
I think those questiond are not suited for a foundation level but for an advanced one, a lot of them are misleading and either look all correct or all false. I hope the real exam is way easy than this otherwise I wont bother taking this exam.
Hi Adereal,
I agree with you. They tried to include more tough questions from the latest revision, 2018 syllabus. But these questions taken from istqb official sample paper. Which can also be referred at istqb.org.
You would need a better understanding of the content and then the right option will not conflict with other all.
@@TMSQUARETECH Thank you for your videos, I was able to pass the exam :) great channel
Aderael hi! Can you tell us your experience in taking an istqb exam?
Definitely, these are the real basic questions, which are the part of the offcial sample exam papers published by ISTQB.@@TMSQUARETECH
@@Aderael what were the questions like? Confusing or clear?
I hate ISTQB since sometimes the answers to the questions are all correct. And the examinee wants to be confused
Hi Crypto,
I think this is what ISTQB is all about and they don't to certify people without having a clarity about the concepts. The more you understand the concepts of testing the clearer your answers will be. All the best and let me know if you need any help.
@@TMSQUARETECH Yup upon reviewing the example examination it now makes sense. Also I passed the examination thanks to your vids. THank you
Hi Neeraj,
Can you tell me what does 3 option mean and why it is not right
you will be invited to a review. the work product to be reviewed is a description of the in-house document creation process. the aim of the description is to present the work distribution between the different roles involved in the process in a way that can be clearly understood by everyone. you will be invited to a checklist-based review. the checklist will also be sent to you. it includes the following points: i. is the person who performs the activity clearly identified for each activity? ii. are the entry criteria clearly defined for each activity? iii. are the exit criteria clearly defined for each activity? iv. are the supporting roles and their scope of work clearly defined for each activity? in the following we show an excerpt of the work result to be reviewed, for which you should use the checklist above: "after checking the customer documentation for completeness and correctness, the software architect creates the system specification. once the software architect has completed the system specification, he invites testers and verifiers to the review. a checklist describes the scope of the review. each invited reviewer creates review comments - if necessary - and concludes the review with an official review done-comment." which of the following statements about your review is correct?
a) Point ii) of the checklist has been violated because it is not clear which condition must be fulfilled in order to invite to the review.
b) You notice that in addition to the tester and the verifier, the validator must also be invited. Since this item is not part of your checklist, you do not create a corresponding comment.
c) Point iii) of the checklist has been violated as it is not clear what marks the review as completed.
d) Point i) of the checklist has been violated because it is not clear who is providing the checklist for the invitation to the review.
I look forward for your answer.
