The Originals Season 2 Official Description:
The first season of THE ORIGINALS brought the most formidable creature on earth, the Original vampire-werewolf hybrid Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan), back to his former home - the vibrant and supernaturally charged city of New Orleans. When he arrived, his siblings Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) not far behind, he was stunned to learn that werewolf Hayley Marshall (Phoebe Tonkin) was pregnant with his child. Though Elijah hoped that the news of a baby might help rebuild their fractured family, other forces threatened to destroy it further: namely, Marcel Gerard (Charles Michael Davis), Klaus’ beloved vampire protégé, whom the Originals thought to be long dead, and a dark secret that Marcel and Rebekah held for a century. The Originals and Hayley soon found themselves caught in a bloody war between vampires and witches, the stakes raised by a vengeful young witch, Davina (Danielle Campbell), and by Klaus’ surprising connection to Cami (Leah Pipes), a student with a painful past. Meanwhile, Hayley helped her exiled werewolf family return to the French Quarter, unaware that a ruthless pack of wolves was already lurking in the city, waiting to stage a violent coup on the vampires. As the first season came to a close, the werewolves decimated the vampire community while the witches made a horrific assassination attempt against Klaus and Hayley’s newborn daughter. Season two finds our heroes adjusting to a new status quo, with the newly empowered werewolves controlling the city, Klaus struggling to adjust to new weaknesses, and Elijah desperate to save Hayley, now a hybrid, from a vicious spiral of self-destruction.

i love this show way more then vampire diaries now, its more grown up and it doesn't fuck around it just gets into the badass action, heres to 8 more seasons
Totally agreed, I mean TVD was my all time favourite show but the past seasons have just been going downhill. I enjoyed TO way more now, as you said its way more mature then TVD now
You have to remember, The Originals has only started. TVD was well acclaimed during the first three seasons. It's all down hill after the fourth season.

All The Vampire Diaries is, is one pathetic way to get Damon and Elena together by whatever means necessary. One massive cringefest. The Originals is FAR better, can see why Julie Plec is focussing on it.

The end was breathtaking "Which of our parents do we will first?" Klaus is AMAZING and with that voice that he has the ending words had me with chills. I really can't wait to see how all this is going to end but I have all my faith in Klaus and Elijah, I know that together they will be unbeatable.

I hope they aren't faking us out with the Mikaelson "family reunion". What worked was this large and twisted ancient family and their dysfunctional relationship with each other. Having everyone together is going to be FANTASTIC AND MAKE FOR GOOD TV.

I want a independent Hayley this season, in TVD she was like that and I loved her. Season 1 of TO was all about Haylijah, and Hayley seemed so weak because of the pregnant thing. GO HAYLEYYY, KILL THEM ALL! :)

How is TVD going to top this. In my opinion the originals took their sweet time building up these stories in great pacing and I can honest see that season 2 it looks to me that it will be the shows highest peak. TVD on other hand after Silas and Qetsiyah death the show to "me" at least stopped. The plot in season 5 where all over the place, and we all know that Damon won't stay dead forever ARE WE GOING TO SEE SOMETHING NEW?

After seeing the trailer of Arrow, Teen Wolf and The Walking Dead I can't say that The Originals is leaving much of an impression on me. The had 3 epic action scenes in 22 episodes so I don't have any faith in them when it comes to action scenes, but we'll see. Maybe the'll surprise me.
