When Thea and Moira were proud of him, i think Oliver felt that whatever he was doing with his mission, he was doing it right and felt relieved. And who wouldn’t, when the 2 most important women in your life before marriage are proud of you.

The entire Season Malcom gets painted as this evil psycho and he kinda is but you can see in those two whispered words how much he feels when he discovers that the enemy he's been fighting and almost killed multiple times is the Boy who he watched grow up beside his son, probably cared about him as much as he did his own son. And now he has to kill him to further his own goals. John Barrowman is the best thing about this show.
