Not a lincoln guy . Ive never liked lincolns arc ! It doesnt dig straight forwards like a miller arc ! Only problem i see on the 305g is they have pc board issues . Son in law bought one last year .. cheap . But it took a 1200 dollar pc board to make it work . Runs good now ! My partner bought a lincoln 305g . Same time i bought my trailblazer 2 , 3 years ago . Not sure what happened to it . They told him months to get it back . So its just sittin in a field behind his shop . Good video brother ! Be safe !

Hey Noah, glad to see a video from you. I am still looking for a basket case Lincoln SA200 . Preferably a 1950's or 1960's. to restore. I just found a Miller Bobcat 225 that has some engine issues. I found a crane on marketplace but the guy wanted a lot of cash. I always like finding something that I have to repair and restore. That way I know what the machine works like because I built it. I have to say I like the older Lincolns because they do not have crazy circuit boards to replace and they have really smooth arc welding I think. The newer Rangers have too many circuits that can go bad and cost too much to have them repaired.

With some TLC it should be a good welder

If you bought this 7 months ago, you’ve probably already figured this out but you’re definitely going to have to replace the main circuit board. Possibly both boards. I’ve had three of these and my original at about 6500 hrs would make AC power just fine but wouldn’t weld. I ended up replacing both boards. Problem is, you’re going to put three times as much in it as you paid for it by the time you get it welding, put the correct lift pump on it and replace the digital readouts. Hate to say it but it looks like you bought junk and that’s exactly what you got. Sorry.

I bought a used 305G a year ago as a backup to my Commander 500, and the digital meters went haywire. I returned it and he said he found a brush sticking. I still didn't want to take a chance for $2500. I ended up buying a new one. You still have power to the outlets, maybe check the brushes??? That would suck if it needs a board if you already paid $1300. Doesn't sound like the engine would be worth anything parting it out. Good luck
