I just found you and since your video is old, I don't know if you will see this or not. You have encouraged me that quilting can be easier and might just be what I need to fight depression. I love how you make it seem easy and that anyone can do it. As you say, it is only fabric and its only thread. Thank you for making these videos and for your service to our country. My late husband was in Spec Ops and he loved the service and I have a great respect for all that have, are and will serve our country. Again thank you for what you are doing now.

Quilting helps my anxiety.....I am making masks for Covid-19 and using the scraps to make quilt blocks. Calms my nerves and keeps me focused on doing something for the greater good. I give my quilts to family members and friends.

A man who is secure in his masculinity can work with all colors. :-) I'm a proud Marine mom, so I'm enjoying watching you and catching your military jargon. More men should pick up sewing, quilting, knitting and/or crochet. It's sexy! My honey is retired ARMY and he has been known to sew a bit.

I came across your channel the other day. I have been making 5”x5” scrap quilts for years. I give them has graduation gifts. I year I had to make 30 the year my son graduated I had to make 45! I have I have so many sewing machines I lost count, 2 sergers and a quilting machine I have had 5 years and have yet to put it all together. I’ve been give craft and sewing supplies from so many people, i never have to buy fabric again. 2 of my grand kids age 11 want to learn how to sew, so I’m getting ready to start teaching them. Anyway, I watch your spider web quilt and really like it. So I ordered the templet and papers. It will be a great way to learn straight stitch. I just want to thank you for serving our country and for having the passion for quilts... A proud daughter of a WWII hero.

I know what you mean about the randomness or chance of the piecing. My quilting friends know exactly what their quilts will look like before they even begin. That takes all the adventure and challenge out of it! I totally "get" that you enjoy not knowing how it will turn out until its complete. Always a work of Art!

Thank you for putting together such a great video! I liked how you went through all the steps nice and slow, and explained everything in such an easy to understand way. I didn't notice the gun on the table until later in the video, but thought that it was a great idea! Who knows, you might need to use that gun if someone tries to steal one of your beautiful quilt blocks!!!..... My son, Aaron, was in the Army National Guard and served in Iraq during "Operation Iraqi Freedom" (2003-2004). He later switched over to the Army serving for 9 years. I told Aaron about your You Tube channel and how you even had a gun on the sewing table. He thought that was awesome! Even my son Aaron knows how to sew on the sewing machine after learning how to sew at the age of 5!!! (He just made stuffed animals! :) )..... It's nice to see men in the sewing room doing something fun like quilting!..... I look forward to seeing more of your videos! You are doing a Great Job! Keep up the good work! (P.S. You might want to check out one of Aaron's Videos on You tube. His channel is called "Repentance Cry". He is a Baptist Preacher who does a lot of Street Preaching, mostly in Springfield, Missouri, but also in other cities around the country.) ----- God Bless You! (Jeremiah 29:11-13 & Romans 10:9-15)

I've just come upon your channel quite accidentally after a week or more of finding quite a few male quilters from all walks of life - musicians, engineers, educators and now a Marine. I agree with several of your viewers' comments that you would make a wonderful workshop teacher. You embody an open, calm, accessible yet focused demeanor any level of quilter would appreciate. SOooooo happy I found you.
I have a few of these types of blocks on my project list and really appreciate this video and the clear demonstration you provide. Thanks to you, I'll move them to the front of the list. I appreciate you.

    Hello,
First time I've seen your videos. I love them. Maybe like you I am new to trying quilting. I have been doing lots of other stitching by hand for many years. I do lots of different types of embroidery. I've got a sewing machine but it hasn't been used for about 4 years so I am very rusty. I have just made 3 cushions for my 3 grandchildren, 2 boys and 1 girl. Really enjoyed doing them. I can look forward to trying your ideas. You are very good at explaining things.
