I got my ex boyfriend a huge vintage glass jar and filled it full of Keirig samples of coffee, tea, cider, and hot chocolate and threw the coupons in it too. He still talks about it being his favorite gift of all time.🎉
You rock Laura and thank for inspiring me for decorating my house and changing out things I have boxed up and stored away!
I love your energy and positivity
Just found your channel Laura! I am so impressed by what you can find where you live. I love that you share all the information that you know about each piece, and including what you might sell it for. Thank you! Keep the videos coming, I love them!😍
Rams head fountain idea.
I repurpose items into water features all the time.
Use a small pump with tubing for each head.
The pumps fit down in the basin and the tubing runs up into the heads.
You can disguise the tubing with greenery, etc.
You can also use a splitter fitting on the tubing so the water drools out each side of the mouths.
Have fun!
I think I’d make two fountains…placed on opposing walls if possible
8:06 i’m glad there’s somebody out there besides Ticketmaster doing this hopefully that’ll lower the fees! I wish that some of the fees were more standardized because if you have like main floor you know maybe say you have like $50 fee then you have the first level then it’s $40 fee but if you go buy one seat over from the person you’re going your fee could be excessive , we’re talking hundreds of dollars just for the fee so many concerts I have not gone to because of the fees sadly it’s not great for the musicians.
My area has so little in the way of antiques that I'm envious of the selection of lovely pieces I see in these shops. I've been watching Laura's channel for a few months now and I like to sometimes point out for other folks new to the channel that her sense of style is amazing. I'm someone who has problems looking at an item in a store and visualizing how I can incorporate it into my own space. Laura takes the time to style many of her finds for us, which is incredibly helpful when you're design-challenged, like me. She has a great eye and I feel my own taste has been enriched and expanded by her videos. Given there are so many thrifter/reseller channels on RUclips, it means a lot to me to find content that is not only visually interesting, but that also educates me and makes me feel better informed in my own journey into vintage collecting. Folks like Laura and George (The Antique Nomad) really elevate the game and I appreciate their contribution, especially at a time when many are simply loading baskets at Goodwill with anything they think will bring a few bucks.
I agree! I'm also design challenged, and Laura's channel has helped me a lot.
Laura, you are so sweet......always thinking of your friends. 😊
That silver angel can also speak to Easter. I was watching another resale show last week where they sold a hand made "Crystal" paper weight for 1,100 dollars. The seller paid .25 cents at a garage sale.
The piece you referenced as Israeli can also be referred to as Judaica. The Menorah pictured is different from what is used at Hanukkah. At Hanukkah a candle stick called a Hanukkiah is used. At some point people just began referring to them as Menorah’s. The Hanukkiah has 9 lamp stands vs. the Menorah with seven.
Point being, that plate is relevant all year long, not just in December. Any Jewish holiday may spark interest, fortunately there’s a lot of them!!
It would be good for Rosh Hashanah with the pomegranates!
Collect more Christmas stuff and have a “Christmas in July” sale.
I really love this idea. Gives plenty of time for shipping and planning ahead
Excellent idea
Dynamite idea 🔥
Hi Laura. The necklace you found is based on the Ancient Kretan Minoan
jewellery !!! I am from Greece so i can tell. .
Idea for combining the 2 rams heads into one fountain… rams are always butting heads so put the foreheads together with the mouths point down… disguise the edges with greenery and hide the tubing inside!
I would seal them first if they are metal😃 And then run a smaller hose through the back of the head and up to the mouths😃 So beautiful!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Personally, I would wall mount the rams heads on either side of a door frame or window as there are 2 of them. Great finds today. Liked the paper weights.
I'm a brass girl. WOW on the bowl. Never have seen one like it. Blessings Always
I adore Michelle’s eye. It’s such a beautiful aesthetic ❤❤❤
The paper weights with the ribbon looking designs are most definitely Murano! Great finds!
It is called latticino!
I forget her name... there was a NM potter in Elk Park, NM (less than 50 population) who was well known regionally (maybe more) for her raku pieces. On my way to my cabin I'd pass through and see people outside the house tending a fire. I think her pieces were on display in Taos galleries.
You will have to use a long large mouth pvc pipe that fits snug in the nose inserted just before the mouth opening and fill in around it with light weight plaster or something like silicone to seal off the nose area snug and keep the water from flowing back inside it. I would do it in both the same and then look for copper or brass half moon ceaser type wreaths with leaves and vines, just big enough to fit under the horns as a type of crown wreath. It will add interest and change color as it is exposed to the elements. fountain pump pipes, run them behind the wall you mount the heads on. I hope that makes sense.
Yes to the wreaths!
I still love your taste in decorating
So glad you got the necklace. I thought it was beautiful and I would never sell it. I love it.
Rams head fountain idea .
Bear with me! Threes are good! Suggest 2 rams heads )facing forwards, with backs of heads meeting at point, meet at wall . Front of heads would be 90 degrees apart. Add 3rd item at this point to add height ( lady, bird, foliage - tree, flower, rock). Water trickling from all three.
The flying heron is made of water buffalo horn
It would be fun to put vintage round ornaments in your brass bowl as a display...sounds like a forever piece!
LAURA PLEASE TAKE ME SHOPPING WITH YOU 😃YOUR ALWAYS FINDING NICE THINGS🥰♥️🦋🦋🦋🌻🌻🌻🐝
Went to the big thrift store near me today(it used to be a KMart) just to walk around and got 3 great deals. Got a Cabela's off-white all wool zip up cardigan for 7.99, a Venezia NWT brown leather blazer for $30 and a navy blue Michael Kors all wool hooded toggle coat that looks brand new for $48. I don't think it's ever been worn. I know they sell for at least $300. Happy Hanukkah to me!! Looked at a few pieces of pottery(now I check the bottom), but didn't buy any. Didn't see any penguin ice buckets.....
Love your painting of the girl with a cat in her lap!! Happy Holidays!🎄🎅
Laura ❤I bought TWO lucite candles EXACTLY like yours in the candle holders for £1 two weeks ago at a thrift shop in Norfolk (UK). I have been looking for years!!! 🎉
I manage to find a lucite silver flecked one for £1 too outside of Oxford. But I haven't seen another one in the wild in the UK. I bought a gold flecked one from an UK RUclips seller and I love it!!
I found my first pair in the wild a few months ago! Also clear with gold, for $5/pr. And then I found out they come in SO many more colors! The hunt continues 😁
I wish we had stores like yours- amazing!
There are 2 of those rams heads on 1st Dibs (I find their things to be a little overpriced) circa 1900's, they are on sale for $1820.00 believed to have been rainwater spouts.
Yup those are the same! I love the idea of making them almost gargoyle looking sticking out from the wall 😆
@@leftcoastrevivals 💞
I love eilat stones! It is the national stone of Israel. I bought a ring and a pair of earrings set in sterling when I was in Jerusalem several years ago. Our guide pronounced it "EE-lot." 🤷🏼♀
I wish Michelle would do a home tour
My husband worked for Jeppesen before he retired. They actually got bought out a few years before he retired by Boeing. They produce Aeronautical information. He started out as a cartographer. We have spent years using outdated maps as our wrapping paper. A few years ago, they went exclusively to digital and no longer print maps. However, we have boxes and boxes of the obsolete maps. We could probably pass some of these boxes down to posterity! So fun to see aeronautical maps for sale!
I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT WHEN I CAME AROUND THE CORNER AND SAW IT! Thrift With Me! | Goodwill Haul! The video is engaging and grips the viewer from start to finish. Watched the video on DEC 25, 2022 very like. Thank you
The way you explain things and show your excitement makes watching so much fun. Thank you
Hi Laura..just recently discovered you on RUclips and I'm obsessed with your vids..so my hubby and I are both retired now, we spent 25 years as our 2 boys were growing up.. buying/selling at local flea Mkts. Antique shows etc...after watching your vids kinda "fuels the fire" of starting up again..TY for inspiring me!!! Happy Holidays💚❤
Laura where is that cool vintage store? I can not wait for your next online sale. Hello form Mcminnville.
Le’Stuff in Hillsboro, Oregon! Such a fabulous Antique store!
Please give us a tour in Michelles home!! 👏👏
Absolutely love when you thrift at home with your friends!! You find the most amazing pieces! Can't wait to see what you do with the 2 ram heads. You are so creative, I know it will be awesome. Always enjoy watching you.
Not everything needs to be from overseas. Local has alot of things
I save all my holiday till to the next year to resell but I don't do online I do a booth and like the impact of a full wow moment
I knew I recognized my favorite Hillsboro Antique store! Le Stuff! Always a good place to find neat pieces.😊
I love that little wood mortar and pestle. I collect all the little wood things like that.
Those ram heads look like they might have been mounted on a gutter to use as a gutter spout.
Excellent finds once again! I think your sis is going to adore that statue of mother & daughter. Great idea!
The ram head ! 😮 I have solid brass rams head and huge horns table base ! Lovvve it!
it's always fun to see your thrifting adventures, but super extra fun when you're shopping in my home town!
I would wait and sell when people are looking for Christmas. On to spring stuff. And summer stuff. Christmas will be here in no time. Ha Ha XO
I own a copy of the millefiori paperweight. I bought it 50 years ago in an antique store in Chicago! It reminds me of Christmas ribbon candies.
Keep that bib necklace! It is distinctive and will look fly on you! It has the kind of energy you don’t need anything else, or you could practically use it as part of a costume! It just has tons of character.
I would keep it, too.
The latticino paperweight with the blue ribbons is definitely Murano and quite pricey.
I am an introvert and a day shopping might have been exhausting and I could have gone home.
You on the other hand squeezed one some great Good Will finds. 🥰
Lesson learned 😍💕
For the ram fountain. i would put the two back to back and attach together with a pvc pipe and have a T fitting so that water would flow from below and to both of them . if it has to be light weight, i would try to find a pond liner and find some kind of cool looking round metal pipe of some sort that you could weld together to the ram heads. just off the top of my head, i'm thinking along the lines of like a light post with a base, or an umbrella stand(heavy duty) to sit in bottom of pond liner and like a kerosene heater type thing for the pipe to attach to the ram heads. not sure if the stand would be sturdy enough to hold up everything though. just my two cents worth though lol
Another Great Show! Thank You!!
I collect art glass paper weights. I couldn't believe all those in one place. Beautiful. I would have had to purchase every one. Great video.
3:09 I just found an apple at the good will in Winnipeg and I use it to hold my recipe cards!!! I love it!!!! ❤
I was noticing the Franciscan Apple dinnerware pieces displayed in the same place as the wooden NFS apple. That is my pattern on dishes inherited from my Grandmother. From the 40’s
You could get a piece of log cut it in half long ways hollow out the center for water pipe drill two holes for out put for the rams heads run pipe or tubing then glue the log back together make sure to wipe off any excess glue so you don’t see the seem or glue then place in basin go ahead and attach the ram heads to the log personally I would use cypress because it’s water proof.
I love the blouse you are wearing in this video! You always look so stylish!
That necklace is a a beautiful & amazing
Those pedestal black and white coffee cups are So adorable and if you paired it with that black and white striped server is the missing puzzle piece to a wonderful set. I’m like magnetic with the little owls. They made themselves into a collection. That brass bowl is similar to a matte black ceramic mid-cent sleeked out low bowl on a squared low pedestal piece….I’m an Aries babie so now my A#1 on the look out for is a Ram’s Head now! What is the material? Cement?
You’re such a wonderful connector of eclectic, organic designer! Love how you have such a natural eye for it. Wonderful collection today!
I collect green Frankoma. The base is to put sterno in to keep your bean pot warm! Frankoma comes from Oklahoma and is made from local clay. I grew up in Kansas City so there was quite a bit of it available at the thrifts. Martha Stewart did some reproductions in the 90s.
I want a tour of your imperfect but functional storage systems! I want to see how you fit so much into your garage!!!!! I know it might not be perfect or gorgeous, but how do you organize and store your finds, both your personal collection and the things you plan to sell? How do you organize and store your posting and shipping items? I want to see how you were doing it before you got a separate studio space, because I don't have a separate warehouse, just my house/garage. PLEASE!!!!!!
I took video before I moved from our Vancouver home (in fact filmed a whole tour of that garage set up!) so I’ll absolutely include some of that flashback footage in the upcoming new studio tour! 😄
Awesome items thrift 👌. Love the brass bowl , I think it's made in India, as this shape n design basket are made of bamboo in most part of India 🇮🇳 called as TUKRI . Loved the wooden motar and pestle too . I always appreciate and love the items you collect. The mother and daughter sculpture is awesome.
Yesterday I visited a exibation of wooden sculptures , most of them are 2 to 3 feet tall . Remember you too would love to have , bit most of them are very costly.
Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 ❤️
With love from SAM
Guwahati, Assam, India 🇮🇳 ♥️
Hello, new subscriber here I’ve watched a chunk of your videos but I haven’t commented yet
Just wanna say it’s great content, I love watching how our cousins from across the pond do it
you have something a little bit different too
Thank you
From 🇬🇧
I knew when I saw that bib necklace that you would buy it! Lol. Great stuff as always. Love your style. ❤
It’s really nice to see Michelle again. It’s been awhile since she’s been in one of your videos. You always find amazing items. It looks like a trip to Hillsboro is in my near future :). I hope you, Jesse & the rest of your family & friends have a very merry & blessed Christmas!🎄❤️
Happy Christmas!! ❤️ It’s absolutely worth a stop! The antique store around the block called Sniders Hill Theater Antique Mall is great too!
I love, LOVE that mother daughter piece!! I collect mother child pieces. Great find!
Bonne Maman bead jar sighting! Glad to see I'm not the only one who does that!
My fave paperweights are Caithness Glass. Look them up if you get a chance.
Your wonderful videos have inspired me to do more thrift and vintage furniture shopping, and I recently found a beautiful Art Deco couch with curved rattan arms for only $200! So I thank you for that. (I saw a few items in the vintage shop where I thought, "Laura would love that!")
LOVE the neklace
Love the goblets
That statue is so sweet
Thank you for sharing, greets to Michelle
I have the Austin piece. It was a gift from my son-in-law the first Christmas after he married my daughter. I love it! and Alex not in that order lol
Best Goodwill on the planet, for pieces and prices!!! Can't wait to see your rams head fountain when done... love, ove, love the mother/daughter piece - now, I will be on the hunt for one just like it!!! Merry Christmas...
I’d attach the heads to a copper sheet. One a little higher than the other Pipes & motor hidden in the back sitting in a light weight copper clad trough
Always a treat to be included in your outings. Thank you and Merry Christmas to you.
I just love how you styled your finds.
So nice to see Michelle with you again! She is so cool! Great finds, as always!❤
So funny, I spied a silver ram head in your last video and I was sure you were going to grab it.
I missed a chance to thrift today(distracted)as I was in a city…I wanted to put my knowledge I’ve learned from you to work😊.Loved your finds today: if you have a pool patio area those rams would make great conversation pieces plus provide a tranquil water fountain effect with foliage surrounding. Or a huge Grecian marble bathroom oasis😮! 🙋♀️
The prices seemed so reasonable. Goodwill is expensive in Indiana and Florida, where we live for six months in the winter. Your house is going to be stunning when finished.
Oh my gosh love the rams head! ❤️
Great stuff
First time on your channel. Fun shopping.
You certainly love your wood items. I would list the Christmas stuff now then people can have it early. I think that the angel would look good all year round. And that Jerusalem bowl is beautiful.
I love paperweights. My mom has a beautiful collection that she has had for years. I have started my own collection and add to my moms too. I would put a thick enough glass shelf across a window to put them on, so the sunlight shines through to enjoy them all together.
The brass bowl is beautiful, it's a keeper.
I would get a big simi circle type basin for the ram water feature to sit snug agaist a wall. Something that suits the rams. Or a big stone rectangle trough. Garden shops who specialise in water features/fountains might have something and the pumps, etc.
I think gifting thoughtful vintage or unique gifts is a great idea. You always put love and thought into your gifts. Looking forward to the bedroom makeover.
Congratulations on all your channels achievements Laura, you deserve it. 🎉🎉🎊👏👏
Wishing you, Jesse, and family a very happy Christmas. 🎄 Im glad we can all spend Christmas with family again this year. Love and blessings to everyone in the group. 🌈💖💕🎄
I love you know your speciality. I love the turquoise collection. I have collected turquoise my entire life. Love the pottery also and learning.
The ram heads are so awesome!
Cant wait to see what you come up with for the ram fountain for little Italy. Ram head this video, zebra vase last video - you are killing it with the critter finds 😍 love when you show your hauls and then give ideas on styling - sooo goood!!
I want to thrift with you! 😉 I love seeing where you go in the PNW! Happy Holidays!
What an eye you have for these amazing things. Love, love, love your channel
I agree with Wildcard Traders! Remember Angels watch over us everyday. I display some of my Angels every day. Laura, I enjoy your videos; I miss being able to go antique shopping. I feel like I’m shopping with you. Happy holidays to you and your family from this N Carolina gal.
Love the ram's head. It could look like he just lifted his head after drinking.
Great finds on this trip. The glass paperweights have become quite expensive if you look them up individually. Those were really good deals. I have a beautiful set of 6 on my secretary desk which I found when the prices were still down; can't touch them now price wise!
Love the music❤
Laura, I binge your videos and have watched many of them several times. I so appreciate your insight into using secondhand items to make my house look styled and curated! I was wondering if you could give advice into how you approach buying secondhand leather furniture. I know I can't afford a new high quality leather chair, but I want to try to find one in a used furniture store. Any tips?
Love your channel! The correct pronunciation of the stone is ey laht.
⛄ Merry 🎄
Christmas ❤️
I knew that necklace was going home with you!
I'm here for it
Thanks for another teachable video. I always learn something from your decorative knowledge. ❤️
omg you could place them like they are butting heads and drooling into the basin! Just an idea :)
Pottery from Acoma NM is pronounced A-co-ma. A’ as in back with emphasis on the A.
Water features - my husband designs products for ponds and features and is a talented garden/feature designer. We are in the UK but he sells his products in the US too. If you'd like me to get him to take a look, let me know, I'd love to help you ☺️✌️
Great finds, as always!
Love your top, Laura. It's beautiful! :)
