I also have a carving from one of Leo’s sons, Michael. They look great together. And love that you shared the money with habitat. You’re one of my favorite RUclipsrs. Been watching for quite awhile. The fact you’re also from the PDX metro area is a great bonus.

Yes! Me too! I have quit watching a number of other resellers because I am tired of hearing them complain about the prices they pay at GW, other thrift stores, etc. They would never consider returning a portion of their profits to the organization.

I totally agree with following your gut. I don’t normally pick up art pieces because they are usually priced way too high for what they are in our thrift stores here in Oz but this week I just couldn’t pass by a particular piece that was only $10. When I got home I found it was buy South African artist Godfrey Ndaba and could be worth up to $500. I might b keeping that for myself because I actually really like it.

Canadian girl here….I have come to the conclusion that the “goodwills” in my area of NB suck. I rarely find anything that gets me excited. Don’t get me wrong, I have found the odd item but when I see what you & others find daily, weekly, monthly, I am so jealous!!! It does, however, make watching your videos very interesting. Keep thrifting & teaching us. 🥰
LOL I have the same problem over here in regional Australia! Everything at the thrift is so-so bar the occasional piece. If I wanna get excited I have to visit the consignment place up the hill and hope I can spot some overlooked treasure. 😆
Same I'm in Nova Scotia. Sometimes find the odd piece of pottery, that's it though.
I’m in the same position. We have NO good thrift store here in northern Ontario Canada. They are very junky & expensive. It’s so frustrating.

Laura, if was great to see you expand your comfort zone, purchasing the orange Mid-Century vase! The lamps were delicious, like you I don’t mind small chips here or there, a few, not a lot. I describe them to my brain as just their backstory. I think you and I are not of the norm, I have had a vintage shop on Etsy since 2011, my customer base is very diverse, but chips are out of the question. Regardless it is vintage and one of a kind, people still want items with no damage. So I have solved that problem easily, I would keep the lamps for myself and list something from my personal lamp collection. When I add to my own home, I will sell or donate items. Space is always the constant obstacle. 😂😂 nice haul👏❤️👏

I wish that we had thrifts like that here. Ah well, I like watching what you get anyway. Just my opinion; and of course it's subjective-but, I think that Italian pottery lamp would look better with a white/linen lamp shade. :)
It’s rare to find tropical flower candles in 2nd hand shops. So wild to think the previous owner also didn’t use it. Too pretty to light up the wick ❤

Your love for Italian pottery had an influence on me; I found a cute little dish at my local booth place for just $18, I heard your voice in my head as soon as I flipped it over and saw 'italy' 😆 I was able to identify the company and list it in my Etsy store for 3 figures. Phone bill paid! 🙌

Dang $1.99 for a Tiki Mug is FANTASTIC!! I rarely find Tiki mugs but when I do they are always priced around $8.99 each (at Goodwill). LOVE the bird! When I see the great stuff you find at Goodwill I am in awe. Really enjoy the "Updates and Identification" part of your videos. Interesting information regarding the "brass knuckles" piece. Who would of thunk?
I saw a similar tiki mug the other day at goodwill for $12.99 so I didn't get it.
The tiki was from China so dont feel too bad. Youll find a vintage one, keep hunting.
Great haul. Especially the pottery & candles. Love the little blue dot vase. Those flower candles are so pretty. Orange isn't my favorite color, but the interesting shape!

You could put a small clear slim vase/glass in the cut out vase,and still put in flowers.
My love of vintage grew in Germany. We were stationed there from 72 to 96 (my dad retired and became an army civilian like me) so I went to a lot of flea markets growing up. Then I moved stateside and started going to thrift stores.

Yesss many times I thought why so worried about the little chips. In Europe, if it's not a huge one, little imperfections makes the object more wabi.sabi, and gives it some more character.
My favorite part is to see how you stage. The items are all different, but the colors play well nicely.

The orange vase could be a vintage reproduction by Crate and Barrel. They’ve done many interesting shapes and colors over the years and always good quality.

Hi, so glad your GW has such great things. Ours in NC doesnt have much, nothing like the ones you visit. I love watching your thrift hauls, they are so nice.
Just found your videos a few weeks ago. As a former Antique buyer and seller it's nice to see and learn about what the younger generation is collecting. I have a couple of questions. You frequently comment about putting flowers in a wooden vase. Are you lining the vase with a glass tube? I'm also seeing you talk about putting candles into wooden candle holders. Are you using an electric/battery powered candle? I'm old school and used to flowers in glass or ceramic with candles in pottery, glass or metal.
Oh, and you might consider a buying trip to Round Top Texas if you haven't been. Rustic, and high end pieces. Much nicer than the Canton show. Enjoy your videos.
I had that black modern lamp in Chrome as bedside lamps from Ikea in 1990 , I bought them for $19.99 ea. Ikea lamps back then were heavy and solid .

I found your channel just today, watched 8 or 9 sessions, so i forget where, but somewhere you were comparing two china cabinets, and in one you had some gray-black striped plates. If you have time, can you say the brand name of those plates so i can look for some? I'd sure appreciate it! I saw plates like that many years ago, maybe 40 years ago, and have not forgotten them, but no idea of the name.
