I use cheapo hair spray rather than WD40, lubricates well, allows you to reposition while setting up, then dries like glue so they won't shift. If you ever need to remove you can force a flat blade screw driver under the grip, spray in the hair spray and they will loosen
You advised pushing them up to the brake, but you really should fit then flush with the bar ends then butt the brakes upto them. Had you used lighter fuel you could have removed the Brompton grips intact. Hate waste. Thanks for sharing. Take care
My Brompton has the original rigid grips which are OK for short trips, but anything over 30 mins get uncomfortable. I got some soft spongy ones from Wilko for £2.50 and was looking for advice to fit them. I think I'll go up to Decathlon instead and get these instead - thanks for the tip! Safety first though! Always retract the blade on a Stanley when you aren't using it. It might have helped it could see the side you were scraping glue from. Would it be easier to use something like white spirit to remove this? Also, I'm not sure what you were doing to hold the grip in place. Was that a special tool? It looked like an ordinary spanner!
rogink Hi, thanks for your comments, l have now used these grips for over 1000 miles of riding and can honestly say they've been great for me. The spanner I used is from the Brompton tool kit, the one that fits in the frame I do have a review of it on here.
@@terrysallbikes yes indeed, but Brompton B75 M style is like pre-2017 Brompton. GP2/3 can be cut to fit, but not GA3 I think. I do not know what will happen but fitting a long grips to a shorter handlebar but perhaps just try or buy Brooks grips 100mm. thanks a lot for your reply.
Hi, sorry to here that, I’ve now sold that bike, however I didn’t have any problems with the grips. My new (to me) bike came ergonomic grips already fitted, had it not I would have gone for these again. Have you thought about gluing them?
@@terrysallbikes I though that to be a a valid solution , considering that if that didnt work it would be a headache to remove them to replace them with some lock on grips...

Thanks for the tip, I may well try that next time 👍🚴♀️

how they feel, I bought Brompton b75, I did not like the feel of them, so I am looking to replace them, any suggestion? thanks for the great video
These are a great budget option, if you don’t mind spending more ergon Gp2 or 3 are excellent
@@terrysallbikes I like the look and the shape of ga3, but it seems would not fit (length) not sure if fitting a long grips will work. thanks a lot.
My bike is a 2018 M6R I have Gp3’s fitted, no problem

I know what you mean, depends on the adhesive I guess, after all the original grips are glued on
Is the grip soft?
I’m not sure I’d say they’re soft but I did find them comfortable
Where can I huy it from?
Decathlon, in store or on line
Biggest surprise is that you still have fingers.
I know I guess I’m just lucky like that!
