Yes, I fold my bike and take it up the stairs (5 floors) to my apartment. This is my daily exercise. I have a classic Brompton M and an electric Brompton HY. At first I thought about replacing my classic with electric but I realize that I love my classic. So I keep both. When I go far or travel for work I take the electric one. To do my shopping I take the classic, lighter and less bulky in the shopping trolley.
Totally! Used to have lots of stuff on my Bromptons, this is currently how I set up now too, + a phone holder, small tool bag on the saddle, and bottle mount
I use the loop mount that goes over the stem bolt and fits perfectly, spring loaded bars hold the phone in place, and close up when not in use. And it doesn't rattle when not in use, another point from me!
Thanks for the question. I used it for a year now, it never came off. Plus, there is a space for putting a cable tie it to further secure it. As for where can you get it. I got to ask the dude. I shall post you with another reply once I got an update.
@@Petrellionwheelsi really like your 3d printed mount. Could you please advise me where I can purchase it with wahoo mount print instead. Really appreciate it if you could assist. Thank you
Thanks for sharing your thoughtful collection of useful ideas. Reviews are so helpful. Some new stuff here, and insightful perspectives that I didn’t have to spend eleven years discovering myself. Always appreciated. Until next time. Stay safe and happy trails.
1. Computer or phone mount is genius. 2. The rear cam is only if you want to have the Video but for simply safety one can get a Radar… 3. The lashes for the block and the rear wheel seem practical, but I managed without them until now. 4. The smaller bags are not necessarily for me: for commuting and longer rides I do get a backpack on me or on the block and can put everything there! For some shorter rides such a bag could come handy! I don’t change tubes on the roadside: its uncomfortable, inaccurate, unclean, one may lose parts, one has to carry tools and replacements for, at least, several hundreds of kilometres until needed and even then its faster to get to the nearest train or bus station! 5. Front light on the steer is not so practical: moves and shakes too much, has to be adjusted often.. I lived fine with it, but I guess its a bit of overaccessorizing to have 2 strapped small bags alongside one on the block, plus 2 lights on rubber bindings with two additional lashes... and then try to fold and get fast in the filled commuter train by emptying the water bag first then getting the camera out in order to be able to sink the seatpost completely, get the phone out of the steer...
Lamps (or lights) are good. You can make yourself even more visible to people in cars by wearing a high visibility vest and a light coloured helmet or cap, because your upper body, shoulders and head can be seen when the cars nearest you stop car drivers further away from seeing the lights on your handlebars.
sehr Informatives Video , danke für die Tipps. Haben Sie vielleicht auch ein paar Links zu den Gadgets . Besonders interessiert mich die Gopro/Garmin Halterung
It’s called a “feed bag” as the original design is used with horses to help keep them well fed. The bag goes over the nose and mouth with straps around the head. Great video!
10:00 flashing front lights are annoying as hell, plus every Epeleptic Person could be triggered and getting a seizure. There are so many ways to be visible at darker times but sometimes i think people are just lazy or don't want to put on a hi -vis West, not even these grey ones. Or just get a light that is bright enough in the beginning. (Sry, a friend constantly gets seizures in winter because of these flashing lights. I'm a bit against them.)
Thanks for spending time on the video. I was thinking about that during my video shooting. Initially, I was going to shoot the "blinking" in the dark, but I thought it would be less "harmful" to express it in the daylight. I will warn people before the flashing. I appreciate your input. Cheers.

Good point in regards to the light being on the handle bars rather than by the front wheel, you tend to into details with your videos which is very refreshing, would you consider doing a video on in your opinion good versus bad handle bars light = good value, waste of money, reality compared to nonsense. Look forward to your next video which ever subjects on the Brompton.
Thanks for the detailed comment. I would love to make a video comparing the lights in the practical sense. Most of the lights on the Brompton now are what the Brompton shops sell to them. There is very little alternation here. However, there are some budget lights that I see on the market that would work really great. I got one of these lights that can be used as a power bank. That's the light I would bring if I am going touring for a couple days. At least I got a spare power source for the phone in case anything happens.
My handlebar, tension bolt became exchanged to titanium and you are able to buy a special clamp to put on top, by that, for mounting GoPro items galore, with extra bars. I have a Garmin Explore, a camera and lamps. Finn. Denmark
@@Petrellionwheels I have just found a Solution for the missing water-bottle holder on a Brompton, as Chinese A.E. sells a bolt-hole with a Velcro strap, so that two or three of those are able to be put anywhere on the bike, with a proper Superlight bottle cage!! My now much less than my former 2019 SuperlightM6LXBrompton weighs around 8,5 kilo(!), of course still with mudguards, as "Rainy Dane", with a use for those! I expect that with a little more work and changes, mostly changing the Heavy Metal clamps on my mudguards to much lighter ones and more original brake parts to titanium, I will be able to reach round 8 kilo, and still looking - mostly Original all over. Only the feel of lifting the contraption will be different. Finn. Denmark 😄
Thanks for your comment. Those bars are called lower riser bars. Most shops that deal with the Brompton would have them. The one that you are seeing in the video has a 3cm rise.

As a Brompton commuter I have just 3 "addons" 1) ergonomic handlebar grips, 2) ez clamp spring, and 3) lights. Ready to go.
Which bar grips do you recommend?
@@davidraeside3816 I went with what the local shop had in stock at the time Ergon GP1. Fantastic upgrade and I should have done it sooner.

I am interested in the rear camera and light. Where can I find it ?
Tooo Cycling Rear Camera and Bike Light Combo Black one size
£109.00,
I’m wondering if this is the light you mentioned.
Are they going to replace the 6-speed models with the 12-speed ones, or will both options coexist for the electric Brompton?

That hipster hat 🎩
I just use a cheap rubber phone mount. Very durable and easy to use
Whatever works, but I have to admit that I am a scary cat at putting my phone at the handle bar.

I find these pull thingies were too expensive. Ebay Brompton luggage pull/quick release was half the price but just as good
