      The videos followed each other for me as well. This experiment was great! Olga also used a black background, so in this case I would think white as the solid color side. I don’t really know. I do know I’m going to watch a few more of Leftbrain’s videos!

    I am exactly the same. I have to experiment. I need to be better about keeping a journal on hand at all times. Because I have to try and try and try everything, and sometimes I don’t know that it failed until morning when I get crazing, or a certain color floated and took over during the night.
    I have not tried an angel wing pour, but I have wanted to.
    I also watch Olga’s channel, she is great. But I need to know WHY that happens when I do this certain thing, so I really appreciate your channel, it will stop me from making more failures, because you are sharing the burden of experiments!!i love every minute of the experiments I do, btw.

    The 4th one is the best angel wings...wondering if mixing the gold paint thicker also will help it be more of a focal color - it seems to have been swallowed up by the black in #4 (??(
    #3 had bold gold color, but painting lacked definition lines, feathery look. Thicker should help that definition thingy, right? Since they all mixed same consistency, am curious why the gold so much & shiny bright in #3, got overrun, or maybe sunk into the black in #4?
    Is there something about the gold paint itself, or is it about placement of gold in cup that made it virtually disappear in #4?
    I don't look for answers right now to these queries, but may warrant consideration as you try it again. Placement IN cups were all different & gold showed so much different in #3, than #4.
    Just a thought from person still waiting to do 1st pour, so knows 'zilch' except by watching lots of these videos.😌
    Can't wait to see your re-do!

    I’m not sure if anyone has already commented this but on the one that had the split cup she poured over her black and you did it backwards so that might be the difference in why no white showed up so the black was at the bottom of the cup and you’re pouring over the black is how she did it but I love watching your videos you have some great tips

    • @LeftBrainedArtist
      @LeftBrainedArtist  2 года назад +1

      Not really. You can use gel medium but that is expensive.

    • @LeftBrainedArtist
      @LeftBrainedArtist  2 года назад +1

      You can also leave it out for 4 - 8 hours and let it evaporate some of the water out. Just make sure you don't use any of the paint that might have skinned over.

    Hi if I have a painting where the black is sinking below the white and silver does that mean the black is too thick or thin? Not left brain 😛

    • @LeftBrainedArtist
      @LeftBrainedArtist  4 года назад +1

      It could be too thick, although you'd see the paint run differently if it was significant.
      It might also be that the pigment you are using for black is heavier than the white. Metallic colors seem to always be lighter than other colors. Ivory black is lighter than mars black (at least according to Liquitex basic pigments). Try either adding a very little titanium white (has to be titanium cause that is a heavy pigment) to the white and silver. You could try using a little more pouring medium in the black too to help it be less weighty too.

    • @LeftBrainedArtist

      I always like to finish at least to keep the dust from getting in the pinholes. For beginners I recommend the spray. One can covers a good 5 medium size paintings. Right now I use Gloss Varnish from Liquitex. Takes some work not to get brush marks but it works great.
