Hi! Great video, thanks for making it! It's a while I think about the necessity of something like this on the internet! I wanted to confirm you that the Campaigner originated from Valiant Comics' Turok: Dinosaur Hunter. I dont remember the issue's number but it was during the "birthquake" event: Turok went back to the Lost Land and found this army led by a warlord (later revealed as a cyborg) that had established their headquarters in the ruins of the rainbow tower seen in Unity. I don't remember if it was called the campaigner but the design was exactly the same of the game. If I'm not mistaken his plan was also very similar, since he wanted to finish what mothergod started, destroying the universe to build a new one and rule over it. Another insteresting thing about those issues is the presence of Merlin, a misterious figure who may have served as an inspiration for Tarkeen in Turok Evolution. Actually the first game's aesthetics looks more similar to Valiant's designs than the Acclaim ones. Other than the title, Tal'set looks different to how he appears in the comics but is more similar to Turok; plus the presence of the Longhunter, the bionosaurs, the campaigner itself and the fact that the manual states "you are Turok" made me think that it was originally designed as a Valiant era Turok game and his plot was changed during production, but I haven't found any proof of this so it might just be me. And yes, I'd love to see the series coming back! If they make a sort of sequel to Shadows of Oblivion following Danielle's son discovering the lineage's legacy and the lost land they could expand over the lore that has been kept in the comics without having to reboot everything, it would be perfect to me! Gameplay wise I'd be interested to see how Turok would work in third person view. Sorry for being this long, usually I don't write this much in the comments! Again, great video, thanks for sharing your researches with us! Looking forward to other Turok Lore video!

I wish Turok would come back. They took out way too many things that made Turok great in the 2008 reboot, but Turok still has a lot of stuff that could make a great game.
I think Tarkeen described the Lost Land best in Evolution: "A world born of chaos. An unholy offspring conceived during the death of a universe." (I think that's his exact quote).
This is amazing work! Why can’t we get a new toruk with the classic 90’s story line reboot? Like modern graphics with an awesome story most have not experienced.
They need to do a remake of the first and the second games. For games that came out back in the Nintendo 64 days, they actually had pretty good lore behind them. Not to mention level design, enemy variety, and the crazy high tech weaponry to basic bow and arrows you can use.
I swear this game needs a proper reboot that captures that nostalgia 90s shooter aspect that Doom and Wolfenstein has done. Imagine what they can do with the sleg from evolution, so many enemy types and variety with their own unique gameplay mechanic that can change up playstyle and tactics. I just want someone to pick up this series and recreate that iconic lines from the 90s that stuck with me for so many years, "I... AM TUROK!!!!"
Wow, this overview was so good. I am a huge Turok fan, have all the Valliant and Accliam comics and games, but I have a question for you, which I think only you can answer. It is established that there is one lightburden which a Turok can tap into to pull for example weapons out. In Turok 3 you can choose who will become the next Turok, Danielle of Joseph. My question is: “Howcome, they defeat Oblivion both with their OWN lightburden”? They each hold their own. This has always bothered me, because are there now two lightburdens? I even have the comic which tells the story of Turok 3, to hopefully get an anwser, but allas. Is Turok 3 written by a different writer than the lore established in the comics and Turok 1/2, or is there a explanation? My hope rests with you, it has bothered me for years. 🙋🏽♂️ Edit: in the manual of Turok 1, there is a comic and I saw that both Tall’Set and Joshua have their own lightburden, so I dont know. Mabye each Turok gets one…?
I just beat turok 3, and I wondered the same thing. it was like just thrown in there huh? 0 explanation, there isn't enough lore to explain all the little details. Wish the series was more popular YK?
So cool. TUROK evolution was my favorite and I hope they bring the series back. I know they made that PC cutsie game Turok and I did buy it and pretty cool how much original material is in it like Turok and adon, the bear as an enemy, see what they did there. Plus you said Turok in the games is a mantle but idk if the Turok with the military guy crash landed on the same planet lost world I hope there is an explanation. I think they should revive it soon. If there are future and past turoks, than yes they should create a new game and they pretty much can go anywhere in time or different universe since they all end up portaling to the lost land anyways.
Here's my 2 ideas for a new Turok game: 1. Survival Horror, FPS Open World game with a Story that is loosely based on the Son of Stone comics (Perhaps some 2-player support with him and Andar?) 2. A rebooted, fast paced Turok game akin to Doom (2016)
I'm pretty sure Harry Turtledove was a big inspiration for the Turok story. The War, specifically is about a race of reptillian like aliens that attack earth in the 1940's. The aliens in the book are fairly similar to the raptoids in the games.
THE RULE IS CLEAR : DO NOT MOVE AWAY FROM THE COMICS OF TUROK The REAL CAMPAIGNER from 64 is the most perfect and interesting character ever ! I F#cking love the history of that villain ! I HOPE , THE TRUE TUROK , BASED ON 64 , RETURN SOME DAY ! WITH THE CAMPAIGNER

This is amazing work! Why can’t we get a new toruk with the classic 90’s story line reboot? Like modern graphics with an awesome story most have not experienced.
Its surprising not alot of people heard of turok remember playing it on the gamecube such good times:)
Awesome vid. Thanks.
Thank you 😀
You should’ve gave an honorable mention to the GameBoy Turok. It was so fun
Dude!!! I still have my bradygames strategy guide.... I sunk so many hours into that first game..
I had it for N64 it was INCREDIBLE
I hope they make another Turok game similar to the first two n64 games but likely not, great video cheers
they should revive turok the xbox 360 game we had didnt feel like Turok.
Turok just wants to get rid of all reptiles.
But it was still a good game.
Turok evolution on the game cube was the best
Edit: in the manual of Turok 1, there is a comic and I saw that both Tall’Set and Joshua have their own lightburden, so I dont know. Mabye each Turok gets one…?
I just beat turok 3, and I wondered the same thing. it was like just thrown in there huh? 0 explanation, there isn't enough lore to explain all the little details. Wish the series was more popular YK?
Reading the comics and playing the games brought back memories
Me too. I still play old games from my childhood cause it brings back memories. I am more attached to older games than new ones.
If there are future and past turoks, than yes they should create a new game and they pretty much can go anywhere in time or different universe since they all end up portaling to the lost land anyways.
can u do the S.T.A.L.K.E.R.S. franchise?? :D
im going to prepare myself for stalkers 2 by 2021 xD
A Turok revival in the Unreal 5 engine along with a good solid story would be pretty cool. I still love the first Turok on the N64.
Some of the best AI narration I've heard
Here's my 2 ideas for a new Turok game:
1. Survival Horror, FPS Open World game with a Story that is loosely based on the Son of Stone comics (Perhaps some 2-player support with him and Andar?)
2. A rebooted, fast paced Turok game akin to Doom (2016)
Wish the story of Evolution was completed. I'd like to see how Tal'Set defeats Tyrannus and his Sleg forces.
I'm pretty sure Harry Turtledove was a big inspiration for the Turok story. The War, specifically is about a race of reptillian like aliens that attack earth in the 1940's. The aliens in the book are fairly similar to the raptoids in the games.
THE RULE IS CLEAR : DO NOT MOVE AWAY FROM THE COMICS OF TUROK
The REAL CAMPAIGNER from 64 is the most perfect and interesting character ever ! I F#cking love the history of that villain ! I HOPE , THE TRUE TUROK , BASED ON 64 , RETURN SOME DAY ! WITH THE CAMPAIGNER
