    I’m a long term and frequent meth user. When I’m using, I experience many comedowns. And when I try to get clean or am forced to get clean, I comedown and then start withdrawing. My comedowns consisted of extreme anger, feeling impending doom, delusional, extreme paranoia, extreme anxiety, alone...and extreme heart palpitations. Everytime the heart palpitations come, I literally just lay in bed and let myself die whenever that may be. Because I would literally think I was going to have a heart attack. And that can be very possible. I never have people comforting me because I don’t want anyone to think I’m crazy and the people I did tell wouldn’t believe me that I was dying. which put me in a headspace that if I actually was dying, nobody would give a shit. So I would lay in my dark messy bedroom in silence and cry and have panic attacks as it felt as tho my heart was about to give out. And every single time, in those moments and only in those moments, do I wish to just die. It was scary. Now when the withdrawals came along, I would get sweaty and oily but didn’t have the energy or motivation to take a shower. I wouldn’t have the energy to do anything but binge on food( due to basically starving myself the whole meth binge). When you binge on food after not eating, it caused me to become bloated all over my body. And us females hate being bloated lol. And don’t forget the oily skin too. I would feel emotionless and depressed and anti social. Sometimes I would get this burst of energy to do one thing. Whatever that may be. But after that I go back to laying in bed. I would get paranoid thoughts about everyone in my life and also felt brain dead. I didn’t have the energy to think about things too deeply. I would leave my living space a complete mess and didn’t care. I’m withdrawing right now, I feel as though there’s more to add but I can’t think of it right now. But I will add that when you are coming down and withdrawing from meth, that it has been very lonely. Nobody believes or cares. They think I’m crazy and they don’t know what I’m feeling. So I have to keep it to myself. When I do manage to leave my house, I look like complete trash and don’t care. And there’s periods where I don’t know what to do. Nothing sounds good so I lay in the dark in silence and do nothing until fall asleep. Then wake up feeling damp because I’ve been sweating and haven’t gotten the energy to change out of my skinny jeans. Skinny jeans and sweaty/oily skin don’t match either lol. But this will repeat until I stay clean through the whole process and don’t look back on this drug. There’s much much more far evil things this drug has to offer but I don’t want to type it all out. But please stay away. And I’m always so tired of the people who say they are a functioning meth addict. I was with a “functioning” meth addict the other day, while he had a complete anger outburst because his dealer wouldn’t give him any. Because dealers are assholes who will tell you to come swing by to get some but once you’re there, they don’t answer or tell you to hang on for a couple hours because they feed off your anxiety. That’s just how they are. Not all, but mostly meth and heroin dealers. Anyways, just please stay away from hard drugs

I work nights too with three kids, exhausted all the time. When covid hit things got hard and cravings got worst. I've always looked at meth as the lowest of the low. Off for almost a year… will be a year on May 31. I’ve been commenting on your videos from the time I was only days off to now. I haven’t messed up yet. I’m totally surprised… part of the reason is my dealer stepped out of my life and I can stop myself before finding someone else. I wish I had more help, I wish I could be prescribed adderall… the meth was self medication. I always took it in pill form… waiting for doctors to help me and it seems I have to suffer and prove my commitment to being sober.
    I used for 5 years. I only took it as a pill.
    It’s the only thing I used, didn’t even drink.

Now, during this time I’m to the point where I think it’s okay to do a little to get some stuff done and then end up doing too much up into the night. I’m now thinking how could I do this myself? How could I do this to my body. How could I do this to my brain. I can’t eat so my stomach is empty too. I literally can’t eat. I can’t calm down. I can’t control my emotions and I can’t think straight. I don’t like the way I look in the mirror. I feel very anxious and depressed. I feel very lonely. It’s so uncomfortable. It’s so not worth it. Meth does not have any withdrawals whatsoever because meth is not physically addicting, it is mentally addicting so the worst a user can experience if he or she doesn't redose is they can become pissed off or irritated but they will not be in actual physical pain like a heroin or a Xanax user(s) would if they don't redose.

    Informed risk taking , educated guess ? Im not inoculated from addiction but im pretty conscious of the culture of mental bullshitery and ignorance/ selfishness to create layers of acceptance of the drug use , but thats counter to filling in my time in a happy space......
    " im in the cycle of using - not stuck with addiction , it would be a problematic substance use if it's causing a deficit of proportions out of sync with regular normal behavior "
    It could be over spendingon many things , addiction is the drug itself , meth is just a symptom.

    Another thing that’s not mentioned is the trap of cocaine being flooded into communities worldwide then quite deliberately and subtly laced with methamphetamine to the point where there’s not any cocaine in it and the methamphetamine is much cheaper to produce yet makes much the same or even more money for dealers and more horrendous problems for the users

    Meth is not physically addicting so a user will not experience any physical withdrawals but I had to come to the realization that meth is mentally addicting but withdrawals only come from physically addicting substances such as opiates and benzos. A heroin user will be in physical pain if he does not redose, bones will hurt, anxiety will hit hard, cold sweats ect.
    A meth user will not be in any physical pain if he does not redose, at the most, he will just be pissed of or irritated.

    Can I be on suboxone for pain and Valium for muscle spasms and muscle tension? I also have really bad anxiety from uncontrolled pain. I’m currently on belbuca and hydrocone for pain but my pain doctor isn’t okay with me being benzodiazepines and suboxone due to dea scrutiny. I wanna switch to a suboxone doctor after my spinal fusion surgery and i wanna get on Valium too for spasms since all the muscle relaxers I try don’t work enough for spasms and muscle tightness and my anxiety is terrible. I’ve tried about a dozen medications for anxiety and therapy and they don’t work well enough. The new doctor I plan to see after surgery is a dual anesthesiologist pain management doctor and addiction doctor. Sorry for the long post, I love your content it doesn’t just help addicts but those of us in pain! Thanks so much for your knowledge Dr. B!

      Valium is a great anti-spasmodic. Many doctors misinterpret the data on mixing opiotes and benzos and will not prescribe both. In the right case, I disagree with them. It really depends on your case. I hope this helps. Good luck.

    I have a question I have been on pain medication oxycodone for probably close to 10 years with many major back surgeries and still facing back surgeries and amputations I have never cut them up and snorted them or injected them nor have I thought about it I do know I don't get the same relief I used to get. I usually take six to seven 30 mg pills a day from the time I wake up until the time I go to bed if I can sleep depending how my pains are. I guess my question is being in so much pain from everything would I get the high that most people get or not.

    Is it true amphetamines counteract and block opiods or do they enhance them? I saw this on a TV show, the person was on a morphine drip after a gunshot and the bad guy injected speed to put him into intense pain real quick. People think it's a replacement but I would think it interferes and messes with methadone, Suboxone or opiod use.

    • @DrBAddictionRecovery
      @DrBAddictionRecovery  4 года назад +2

      Hi, Robin. What a great question. Amphetamines do not block opiods.

    • @chilliecheesecake
      @chilliecheesecake 2 года назад

      It's kinda complex. Amphetamines do mitigate certain effects of opiates like drowsiness, lethargy, etc. but they can also potentiate certain of opiates' other effects like euphoria, chattiness, irritability, nausea, etc.. It doesn't affect opiates' analgesic effect in my experience, but because they can make you anxious and lower your threshold for panic, speed could make the experience of pain more distressing for someone who is already in a frazzled state of mind. Otherwise, what you saw on TV was just that, TV. If someone wanted to torture me, the last thing they should do is give me what more or less amounts to a speedball hahaha.
      Anyways, hope this helps. Don't do drugs, people.

      No the quality really is a lot worse. Every thing is synthetic analogues now. Heroin is basically unavailable and Fentanly would still suck even if it wasn't so deadly. MDMA is basically unavailable too. Nothing is what its supposed to be anymore, the only thing that's gone up in quality is Cannabis. The drug issue will just keep getting worse until prohibition is ended and the market becomes legitimate.

    This p2p meth is 10% good meth that gives the high but the other 90% doesnt give a high just increased heart rate and physical agitation. Notice the old mix youd grind your teach after you float 1 boat. Now people smoke it all day like s vape. I did useing suboxone get off a 10 year heroin and fentanyl addiction. Shoot 13 years. Useing meth i got off suboxone too and its been a year since ive used an opiate. But guess what 2 hears in on this shit and it has a creeping death type of slow approach to insane bouts with reality. Sometimes difficult to decipher as delusion. I removed all the guns from my home due to some kf the uncertainty ive encountrred . Its time to put this in the rearview.

    Question: I have gained 60 pounds since I stopped using. This is definitely the one frustration that has caused my want to use again. I have now lost 10 pounds with Weight Watchers and walking 5 days a week around 10000 steps. It is still really hard to lose. I was put on gabapentin and I have only taken a small dose for 2 weeks and I don’t believe I will stay on it because it causes more weight gain. I am so frustrated, I know meth is horrible for my health but trying healthy weight loss is sooooo slow. I guess it is a win that I have stopped gaining but I’m actually embarrassed to be seen by old friends who look shocked to see me and always comment about how they didn’t recognize me.
    This is really hard, I see that I am being vain. I accept this. I am vain. I’m so very not perfect and accept my flaws and am just being honest. I don’t think I will change in that way. This part of me is the biggest threat to my sobriety.
    Just yesterday I was ready to call it quits because I hate how I look.
    I’m totally not politically correct here.. if anyone tells me I need to accept myself the way I am… just don’t. Been there done that and it doesn’t work for me. That is PC bullshite that helps no one just brings shame to those who cannot rise to politically correct standards.
    I am saying I am on the brink of quitting after a little over a year and probably will if I can’t find a better solution. I don’t think there is one out there.
    Maybe I will trudge through this, maybe the 2 hour drive to see my dealer will be enough time to change my mind but I don’t know that it will be.
    I’m frustrated. Ready to give up. Please help me.

Now i dabble with it on occasions, and have it completely under control, by following a few steps. I know i have no actual control over it, and if i got a bunch im doing it all in days. So what i do is, i don't have the plugs number. My friend has it. He only gets me 1 gram every month or so. Keeps it hidden away somewhere. Only gives me less than half a G each 2 weeks. I know even the smallest amount is harmful as fuck, but i least i have it "under control"
