- If you are looking for a simple and cheap way to watch your Netflix, and Hulu and other streaming type services in 4K on your TV look no further then the Roku Permiure +. What makes the Roku Permiure + different from other set top streaming boxes is its size (fits in your hand), supported 1080p, 4K UHD and not only can it use WiFi both 2.4ghz, and 5ghz, but wired Ethernet for unbeatable seeped. For those of you that may have a set top box already or other means of streaming your shows to your TV, do they only use 3 watts of power? Chances are no, but the Roku Permiure + does.
In all seriousness the Roku Premiere + is a great tool in the cord cutters arsenal and I highly recommend it as long as you know what you are getting into. It is not like the TV box that you have from a cable or satellite provider. It does not pull down over the air networks. You will need to have some subscriptions to make full use of the Roku Premiere + (aka Netflix.)
In this review I walk you through the general specs of the Roku Premiere +. I also show the User interface and give my opinion on things that I thought could have been done a little better. All and all the Roku Premiere + is in my opinion a great set top streaming box.

I have a ROKU Streaming Stick (the one without the start button or the connection to the TV).
My ROKU remote lost pairing with the ROKU stick. The led light in the front is not on. I changed the batteries, and didn't change anything. I pressed the parody button on the back, nothing happened. I pressed the Reset button and the restart program asks to pair with the remote but I can't get it to start.
What can I do?????

Wanderer do I need a antenna for locals for sling? And doe's this box record like a DVR? Or like Vizio that recommended is a converter box

You seem very informed, so I have question no one seems to be able to answer. I have Roku 3100X and I have a problem with RUclips. It will reboot at ramdom intervles. No rhyem or reason to when or what I watching. I've tried rebooting, reinstalling with no sucess. Any ideas? Thanks.
From what I see the Roku 3100XX is the Roku 2 XS. If that is the case it might be caused my the youtube channel not working correctly with the older OS on the Roku 2 XS. I am pretty sure that my Roku 2 XS has not been updated to the newest Roku OS. If it is just youtube doing it that would be my best guess. For me Netflix still works fine.
Wanderer001 That's what I thought. All other channels work just fine. Right now I'm using RPi to watch YT it on the tv. I'm not going to buy a new Roku just to see YT.

No it needs a WiFi style remote.

Most streaming channels like the sports channels you would have to pay for. There are free options but I am not as formulary with the sports ones.

Are you trying to add the channel from the Roku itself? If so try logging into the Roku website and doing it that way. I tend to add channels that way.

Does it upscale Sling Tv picture quality?
I have not tried Sling TV as of yet so I am not sure. However, I will be in the next few weeks. So I will let you know.

How can I find someone to set this up for me. I can manage some of the procedure. Is there some kind of listing or some kind of referral service. On Amazon the ad says that one can call a technician to walk one through the process (for an extra $10). When I called, the phone was answered by a very charming Robot who referred me to the website.
Your better option for this would be your local computer repair shop. They would have someone that could walk you through the setup process. The Robot you talked to was more then likely trying to get you to go to the website to schedule an appt.

My TCL tv is old like 6 or 7 years old now. The newer TCL tvs like the 55inch 4k one that you have already have the Roku system built into it. So you actually have a smart tv. My tv on the other hand is just a tv, not a smart tv. So I need a Roku box in order to do the things I show in the video.

This can be run from an ether net cable. If this is how you set it up no you would not need wifi for it.
Are these still a thing in 2022? I have an older friend (70 years old) who has cut the cord and ended his satellite dish. He has basic skills and knows how to cast from RUclips but Kodi is too complex for him. He needs a simple kodi system. And someone to do updates when needed. Like a subscription but not so much. Just a trusted source to buy one of these from pre set up every so often…updated. What to do?

Wanderer001 why don't you use Android boxes that can get Kodi, terrarium, mobdro, and other apk apps so you can watch everything free, plus if you get a quality one like Nvidia SHIELD you can even play games like a baller.
At the time of getting into Roku's I just wanted something that would do Netflix and Plex. I have been looking at the Nvidia SHIELD mainly because Roku will no longer have the Twitch channel.
Wanderer001 I can personally vouch for the shield. I love mine, but if you don't want to spend the 200 bucks there is a similar product at Walmart named xioami mi box for 69 bucks. I put shield in the living room and mi boxes in the bedrooms and it works pretty well like that.

Get a Firestick it's better then roku.i wash ppv every weekends but I only pay ten bucks a month.which is called iptv.

Bruh!! It worked like a champ. The method I used was removing the batteries and pressing the buttons like crazy. I started at the top of the remote as shown and worked my way down. Popped in the batteries and it worked...thank you so much

I ended up going with Google Chrome Cast cause be it that I'm just using my phone to cast movies. And if I put it on Focus mode I save of data.
Whatever platform works best for you. This is definitely meant for people who aren't on their smartphones or don't know how to cast to a screen.

It is a shame but I think Roku is more aiming at the streaming Market. If you're looking to do gay men you might want to check out the Nvidia Shield. I did a review of that streaming box also. That one uses Android as the OS and is geared more towards people who play games also. Sadly it does come with a price tag that reflects it.

4630R is no longer available. Reprogramming buttons is possible on the android tv sticks but since roku is a closed eco-system no app is available.
Yes, this is an older version now in 2022. They have come out with newer version of it if you are looking for a set top streaming box.
If you wait long enough you’ll get a significant cost savings on all models. I just purchased the Roku Ultra for $73.00.
looks like a lot of the programming is pay per view.....all those $2 & $3 hits can really add up over the course of a month...think i'll look at other options but thanks for the video....answered a lot of my questions

Kinda of like watching a review for running shoes from a legless person. You could have at least check it out on someone else's TV.
4k is not the only reason to pick the model, and now a days if your streamer can not do 4k you probably got a Bargain bin knock off. When this Roku came out it was the only one you could have hard line into your internet, had the top of the line chip set and was the first to come out with the private listening mode remote that could control your tv. I said I needed a 4k TV to help convince my wife. But comments like these help even more, so thanks. ;)

I will give you the lack of something to record live tv can be a little annoying. My thoughts with that are for people that want something to play their streaming services on or are cord cutters so recoding live TV is not an important factor for them.

They knew all about these so called additions when they created the first version, but left them out in order to add them singlually to each new one ,so they could ask for more money. Wouldn't surprise me if in the future you will be paying as a sucker $200 or more.

Yes however Roku is one of the few agnostic streaming players not locking you into any one particular ecosystem. There is also the Simplicity of the Roku interface. The fire stick interface can be a little overwhelming if you've never used something like that before. The closest that I've gotten to a simple user interface similar can the Roku has been the TiVo 4K streaming dongle.
