I just bought the Streaming Stick 4K for my bedroom tv and I love it. It was easy to pair to my tv, and is very easy to use. Great selecton of channels, movies, etc. Very happy with it so far.
One MAJOR difference between the 2 on the remote is the box needs to have remote pointed directly at it. The other is IR which means it does not need to be pointed directly which is a pretty big difference as well.
Actually IR (InfraRed) *_does_* need to be pointed at the box. The stick's remote is both IR and wi-fi, as is the remote for the Express 4K+. the remote *_does_* need to be pointed at the TV in order for volume and off/on to work.
Thanks for the comparison between the Roku Express 4K+ and the Roku Streaming Stick 4K. I have the Roku Streaming Stick 4K and, because of your terrific comparison video, I realized that it would be a "step backward" to go from my Streaming Stick 4K to the Roku Express 4K+. Thanks for the fantastic information!
One advantage of the Express 4k + is that if you want to purchase an after market remote, almost all that I've seen are IR only, meaning you can't use them for the stick. I have one in the bedroom and I'm purchasing a remote with back-lighting, which comes in handy for that room.
The one key benefit of using the express over the stick is that the batteries used with the stick remote do not last that long because of the constant WiFi used for communication. You really need to get rechargeable batteries for the remote if you're going to use the stick.
As others have noted, while you said the remotes are the same, one is IR (and I hate that silly module) and the other is wireless. I very much prefer the wireless, especial in the bedroom... the remote works under bedding. We have a few TCI Roku TVs which I like even more than the addon devices. They came with IR remotes but can be paired with wireless and can be plugged into ethernet for even more reliable performance. I wish the sticks used a small cord, some TV HDMI ports are hard to plug in. Your stick/TV shown would make wall mounting a issue.
I got the stick 4k on sale and it was cheaper than the express. Working fine so far, managed to sync it with my PC library of pirated movies just fine.
Thanks buddy I've been setting up my brand new house following just about everything you suggest. Matter of fact I just got through putting in the beehive water controller. I like it I'm sure I'm going to like the new Roku. Thank you for your videos
🤯🤯thank you soooo much I've ben looking for a while into getting roku and was debating on which one to get and understand. This broke it down soo easy and understandable. Waay better then any store person that's just trying to make a buck.
If you're asking about the long distance wifi antenna, it just means it's better at getting a wifi signal from a farther distance away from your wifi router
Showing that website was priceless. With that, I feel a lot more comfortable picking a unit. It would be interesting to see some testing to see if one model performs better than another. I'm betting the stick version has worse performance because of limited power from a USB slot.
Information provided in this video is everywhere. Nothing unique or different discussed. People always look out for something unique. For example talk about the Dolby Atmos passthrough in Roku Stick. Very interesting topic! That is game changer in this small device. Cheers!
The Roku streaming 4K + People are saying on Amazon it’s the American version and BBC iPlayer may not be available. I’m very confused I want the plus version in order to get the voice commands remote control thank you
I'm simply looking for making FNC & FN to work daily on live streaming. I don't understand why they don’t want to do live stream when I turn their channel on?
Do I need to pay monthly fee for any subscription for the each of this app like Hulu, Netflix, Disney+, CBS???? Or it is already paid by buying Roku???
There are many free channels to subscribe to and add to your Roku channel list. Also some that offer live, local news and tv stations...again, free... I personally refuse to pay for streaming channels, but prefer to rent a movie for under $5 rather than pay that amount monthly to have that particular channel...I don't 'binge watch' any shows, so for me this works great! 🦋Lily🦋 P.S. If you're a Amazon Prime member you can get the Prime app at no additional charge...If not, there's Freebie (also Amazon app) which offers free content/vast variety...Not mainstream 'new' movies...Of course with the free streaming apps you'll contend with ads...Not in the Prime app though.
I've just bought a TCL 6 series 55 inch TV. Will the remote for the Roku + work the TV? I have a Sharp Roku TV and I do like the Roku set up better that the TCL.
I have Roku I’m happy with it what I don’t like is there customer service the only way too get any help is by text you ask them a question and five minutes later they answer that is not the way to do businesses it was much better when you could talk to someone live….
hi just bought the Roku Express 4K from amazon and it does not seem to have a volume button on the remote only the Roku Streaming Stick+ has it should i cancel my order and go with the Roku Streaming Stick+
I think that theres an express 4k and a 4k+, the difference being the remote only, the 4k+ has the volume controls, the other one doesnt i think. I got the 4K+ and it has the volume controls.
the cable bill by it self went up $30 dollars more than what i was paying last month cancelled it and bought a roku ultra lt and i love it no more cable bills whole lot of channels and apps that are free
Like u, I like the streaming stick bc it's hidden. The thing is that my USB port is located on the backside of my tv just like shown in ur demonstration. My tv is hung up on a wall bracket. It looks like that stick would stick out too much to fit between the wall and the hung tv. Mine doesn't have any USB ports that face towards the sides either. I'm glad I saw ur video, thx😊🐈
We are just admitting to the Roku devices is there anyway that you can record different TV shows on Roku that is our biggest problem with getting rid of cable right now it's the ability to record and watch a show without commercials
I wouldn’t advise. I never had a good use from splitters. Splitters are never advised for TVs. I’m only have two on mine and had to make sacrifices. Splitters cause so many issues. Like for my soundbar I had to use optical instead of hdmi arc, on top of that Bluetooth was lagging. So you’re gonna have to prioritize what you want and what you can live without. Even the best brand of splitters just aren’t good.
@@SteveDOES what is the best buy for the ruko? I'm torn as I'm new to it been told that the unit is better than going by the stick not sure if that's true but whats comparable to that latest firestick? Also do you know which ones would allow me to use xfinity stream as that is part of the reason I need to get on since my smart TV vizio unfortunately doesn't have that app yet
Yes, you can use a cable, or buy a 90 degree adapter (about $6 at any electronics store or Amazon), so the stick isn't sticking 4 inches straight out of the back of the TV.
I've have the Epress 4k÷ Roku in bedroom that has no cable. Streaming stick does have a tendency to overheat if you don't keep it away from the TV or the temperature gets above 80 in my house. other then that I have used Roku for over 10 years.
Les voy a dar una razón por la cual el roku pegado al televisor no es buena opción, después de cinco años con el calor del televisor el roku se sobrecalentaba (después de tres horas de ver películas) con el roku streaming stick 4K no pasa eso

that is on there in case you want to purchase other apps that are not free on Roku
@SteveDOES Can you power off the streaming stick or does it only power down when you turn off your TV?
Great presentation. Thanks. I'm going with the stick.
When using the remote with the headphone jack does that cut the audio to the tv off or do you get audio at tv and headphones at the same time?
Yes it'll cut off the TV volume. It's one of the other Good luck
Can either use the tv for power?
Great video. Helped a lot.
Which android version does the roku box use?
I used Alien tape to stick the receiver underneath the TV and it worked great 🙄.
