My daughters nanny just saw the tent in the living room while it was drying after I seam sealed it, and said: Sir what happened? Did your wife kick you out of the room and you set up camp here for the night? 😂

That should still keep you dry. Having the seam sealer exposed to the sun and elements means it might break down over time, but functionally you should be ok.

Appreciate the video and your comment. Many other manufacturers have shown sealing on either side and as Brad said you should be fine. I actually did the outside of my Absaroka too (I actually prefer it) and we can always seal again if there are ever any leaks. That being said, I’ve sealed the outside of a few shelters over the years and not had any leaking issues even with many years of regular use in Montana and Idaho from August through December. Happy hunting!

Thank you for the reply! I’m super happy with my Absaroka. It’s actually my first floorless shelter. I did take my time sealing it and I’m super happy how it turned out. If it leaks I’ll clean and reseal it from the inside lol. 🤘🏻

If we only have to do this once how come they don’t come with this on it?

You can pay for them to do it when ordering the tent. You save $35 if you just do it yourself.
