    Argali just came out with a half insert for this 2p that will allow you to run the stove with half the insert. It will also give you a bit of a vestibule-like setup. Pretty sweet.

    Agreed. I want both trekking poles with me as well! Thanks for the review! This is exactly what I’ve been looking for! Just ordered one with the insert and pole. My Copper Spur just retired from the backcountry after my AZ deer hunt in January!

    The only thing I found I will have to upgrade on this setup is the ground stakes of course. Did an early Sept. Colorado archery hunt with it and we moved every couple days to various terrain. Roots and rocks are definitely not kind to the supplied stakes. Great channel! Recently subscribed, enjoy the content!

      Hey, thanks for checking out the video and channel. I hear ya on the stakes. So far so good for then with me, but I can see where they'd fall victim to the rocks! Good luck out there.

    Excellent overview Josh. I am glad to hear your testimony about using it in bad weather in Idaho. It definitely looks roomy and I agree with you most 2p tents ⛺️ are 1p plus gear.
    I have 325 points in the GoHunt gear shop and I have been looking into a lightweight packable 2p shelter. Whether it be the Seek Outside Silex with stove jack or this new tent ⛺️ from Argali around the same $260 price point. I have not checked recently but last time they both were out of stock.
    Thanks again Josh for sharing your thoughts and experience with this rather nice tent 🏕

      Hey what did you go with? I'm trying to decide between the rincon and the silex for solo mountain hunting in BC. The larger footprint of the Argali has me wondering how it will do trying to sleep in a Mule deer bed.

    I’ve used multiple tarps, bivys, single pole pyramids and tents for hundreds of nights. There’s no perfect design for every application. Argali does a good job with this one, especially for the price.

      Thanks! That's a great point and something I hadn't thought of. Honestly though, I've never had a situation where I couldn't get all of the stakes in with any shelter I've used. I'm curious too about the wind. I've had it in 30-40 mph, but nothing above that yet.

      Yeah, usually no problem on the stakes. I am looking at doing the OTC Barbary here in NM and I’m thinking about staying out a couple nights at a time. That place is extremely rocky. Maybe so rocky I can’t stay out anyways. But that’s what had me wondering about stakes.
      I just added up all the weights from the 3 components and I think it comes out to a little over 3 pounds. (Stakes not included) All 3 parts are about 430 bucks. That weight, price for the amount of space is really impressive.
      Thanks for putting this out there, It probably wouldn’t have been on my radar otherwise.

    The one thing I dislike about teepees is the pole in the middle. Has anyone ran two poles, one down each side? I tried it in the back yard but haven't done it hunting yet, it seems like it should work if you position the tent so wind isn't pushing on the weaker side.

      @@DialedinHunter Yeah, I watched your Owyhee 1p review as well and for what I do here in the PNW I made up my mind to go with the Rincon 2p with a half insert so I can also have the stove option without sacrificing space. I’ve always wondered how you prevent water coming in without the insert if your on a slope and it’s raining. Doesn’t the water just run down the hill along the ground onto your sleeping area?

    • @DialedinHunter
      @DialedinHunter  Год назад +1

      Eric, that's a great question. I didn't have an issue here with water coming in from the slope in the photo. I feel like it would have to be torrential rain with rivers running down the hill for it to think about getting to that point. Also, these shelters can be cinched pretty tight to the ground. Which is not how I have it set up in the photo. Hope that helps. I also haven't heard anyone that run floorless setups way more than myself talk about water running through the tent. I'm sure you need to be somewhat mindful as well of your location. For instance, don't intentionally set the tent up on a slope where you can see water clearly runs through at certain times of the year.

    Insert is mandatory but it needs a floor square tar away for stove

    • @DialedinHunter
      @DialedinHunter  8 месяцев назад +2

      They actually sell a half insert now. With that you can run a stove in the floorless portion. Pretty neat.

  • @stuartsteele9984
    @stuartsteele9984 Год назад +1

    If you're sick and tired of having a pole or trekking pole inside the tent taking up valuable space and interfering with your space usage then you can cut or solder iron burn a hole in the tent .peak. Place a 300 test pound or other test weight kevlar or spectra cord loop outside with knot after the loop and sew the inside legs of the cord to primary tent structural seams. Waterproof seal the loop hole with Shoo Goo or equal. There are at least seven ways to hang the tent in the woods. If you are not aware of them contact me.

    • @DialedinHunter
      @DialedinHunter  Год назад

      Thanks for the tips!

    • @sneakybow1
      @sneakybow1 Год назад

      Or you can just sew a loop on the outside of the peak and not burn holes through your tent. None of my loop options include taking a soldering iron to the cone.

    • @ULperformance
      @ULperformance Год назад

      Not installing the legs of the loop internally exposes the legs to wear externally placed with future potential failure of sewing or other means of adhesion.

    How does the Rincon do with condensation when you’re running it without the insert?

    • @DialedinHunter
      @DialedinHunter  7 месяцев назад +1

      I haven't personally met a single wall shelter that doesn't get condensation from time to time. I MOSTLY run this with the insert, so that is where most of my experience sits with it. When I have ran it floorless, I definitely wasn't thinking too hard about the condensation.
