    Brady, please do a bag dump / back country gear video that includes your favorite shelter soon. I was drawn in AZ this year for archery elk and I want to see what you would bring on your BC hunt this fall.

    That Peax shelter is siiiick

    Great quick look at these shelters! Hyperlite is my favorite! You touched on nylon/ sil-nylon in the beginning. The Peax is sil-nylon and is great, however that is why it has so many more guy-outs. That wet sil-nylon sag they are trying to combat. Seek is a nice no-straight forward shelter w/stove jack, might be the next one to check out! Cheers-southwest Michigan.

    The only one I would consider is the one that actually includes the pole. At these prices for a piece of nylon with a couple of zipers, a flap for a stove pipe, and some loops for tent stakes, it's ridiculous that the pole wouldn't be included.

      @@markthompson2502 i would assume without the floor it would be colder. I am looking into the tub and be able to decide for or against depending on the situation.

    While I expect and understand the inherent bias as you sell all of these, a gear review generally includes cons or some form of rating. This is a highlight reel of all the tents, this is not a review.

    Awesome info! We all know that dimensions don’t tell the whole story on shelters. With that being said, which shelter has the most usable space between the peax and the seek? Thanks!

    For the Argali, when you give the weight in "stove jack mode" is the extra weight just from the stove itself or is it from other add ons you have to include? Just confused because that was the only model where you provided separate weights for different modes.

    • @claytontarics4521
      @claytontarics4521 Год назад +1

      The difference in weight is simply the ability to zip in and out the stove pipe insert. In that spot you can have just the outer cover, stove pipe insert, or both at the same time. Obviously you’d take off the outer cover when running the stove. If not planning to run the stove, you don’t need to carry the stove pipe insert if you don’t want to. It’s like 2-3oz savings. Awesome tent!

    Can anyone help me out and rank these? I am interested to hear what you guys think and what you run. I am upgrading from a msr hubba hubba. It’s been a great tent but trying to save space and weight.

    Has anyone run the Peax with three people? I’m between Peax and Argali

  • @lifson22

    Bit confused about that single guyout on the peak solitude, being pulled like that being for wind stability, when it raises the side nearly 8 inches off the ground, making the tent a sail in that theoretical wind...

  • @wcndguy5302
    @wcndguy5302 Год назад

    MLD makes good mids…I don’t see anyone in the hunting industry using them. People swear by them in the heavy wind country of Northern Europe. They have been doing them longer than all of these companies and make a super sturdy light mid.

    How is it 6’-2” tall when it doesn’t come up to your shoulders? Are you over 7’ tall?

    • @nohandle000
      @nohandle000 Год назад +1

      I have one. Works great. 2 doors and sets up just like the Cimarron. The stove jack doesn't sit up as high. But if you pair it with their stoves, you should have a tall enough pipe it doesn't really matter.

    Not sure why you’re describing these shelters as “4-person“?! I can’t imagine having 4 guys in one of these tents-especially if they have gear! Regardless of what the marketing says these are max 3 person or comfortable 2person tents!

    Why floor less? If it rains the rain can get in right... You can get a floor for very minimal weight savings.

    • @ClintonFD
      @ClintonFD Год назад

      Primary for use with a stove. I do not see much point if you're not using a stove. But as far as rain goes, as long as you're not set up in a depression where the rain will run off through, it's really not much of a problem.

      Also you can build a trench and water will not come in if your set up on a slope
