Yep, the drivers had some talent. The matter of this bot that year was because of the new self-righting system which high centered the mass of the bot making it a lot more unstable.
@@GojiraFan-in9oo uh-huh, that was the matter up here. If you check on Chomp's season 2 battles the most of the times when her swing her hammer she still standing. In the other hand, her battles on the third season shows up a bot that always knocks herself out after every shot.
I always thought that Chomp's hammer was built too light and fragile, this fight proved that to be the case. If you are going to use a flame you need to pin the other robot and hold them, then flame them.
Exactly! why don't they go with an hydraulic jaw or something like that? on top of doing more damage it would work well with fire and still be chompy. Might also fix the stability issues.

chomp had no control over their bot, most of the time he was spinning around and let huge smack him from the side and knock him over, other times he was using flamethrower when it was nowhere near huge. like what are they doing? maybe they need binoculars or something.
Like, if flames cannot hurt a robot that has thin plastic wheels, I cannot imagine how little they can make against more metal heavy bots. Basically a no-sense weapon
Flames are always useless unless they have a similar setup to Complete Control, where you clamp down on the opponent and your flame is directed on one small area
But that one single hit bent the entire frame of Huge right in the middle. It also likely did some more structural damage because by the end you can see it was starting to loose lateral panels and fall apart
In a universe where the arena floor is made of metal so Chomp can hold itself down with electromagnets. The trouble is that even in such a universe, Chomp would still need to know how to drive...

You should check out Huge's smaller variant, Ugee - it fights in the 12lbs category on NHRL. Very interesting, same shap, bust much more nimble.

Clearly the designers agreed (eventually) due to chomp's complete redesign for season 6

Why no one use net vs spinner?
I guess the rules prohibits it. Only bot I have seen to use any kind of launchable weapons/defense is in the latest season, and it's firing bolts.
Someone used a net in a box vs ghost raptor? And then they redid the fight because entanglement wasn't supposed to be allowed
