I met Jim in a hairdressers in '69. i was in there with my niece who was 6 at the time and was sat on my lap waiting. Jim and Pam walked in larger than life. As a fan I instantly recognised them, but didn't want to bother them as they seemed to be close and sharing a moment. Anyway, my niece got bored waiting and jumped down, she ran over to Jim and none of this really happened.

Everyone has their own Jim Morrison opinion, from Lizard King to shy Poet, the sad Clown, the wild Rockstar always on something 😕, To me as I've only read about his life he was a very intelligent but conflicted young man that had problems with his father. He was a runaway and a college dropout making his way to California to end up making some of the best music ever made and die by age 27. He's touched soo many people with his words, actions, and thoughts. Sad that he died so young. RIP Jim
Jim was very smart, an "artiste", very cerebral and wasn't really happy with being made out to be a "rock star", it caused quite a bit of internal turmoil in him. He was much more a true artist that didn't want to be labled, like Patti or like Laurie Anderson.
I saw Patti Smith at the Long Branch Saloon in Berkeley about 1976. The Long Branch was a very small club the stage wasn't higher than 2 ft tall. Eddie Money opened for her and got booed off the stage. Patti came out and played for about an hour then some guy took a swing at her and the show was abruptly over. The place was so packed you couldn't move.
they were two completely different individuals. i so highly admire jim morrison but why compare them like it's some sort of competition? they're different people with different outlooks, each immensely inspiration in their own way.
That kinship that she's describing is so familiar for me when I listen to the doors or hear Jim's voice and words. I feel that I have part of whatever haunted him in me, or maybe even a part of jim lives in me.

You are right, people DO say anything on youtube. But if you check the official record or even the unofficial record of wikipedia you will see that I am right...almost. Jim died in July, '71 and his father gave that speech in June, '71. I checked just to be sure and if you look at a few videos on my channel you will quickly see that I served on the ship that I said I did. It is good to have people checking to week out the errors and posers.
When the Doors done the Ed Sullivan show and Morrison sang what he was told not to sing they were told theyd never be able to do the Ed Sullivan show again and Morrison said we've done the Ed Sullivan show which sais it all about Jim a total rebel with a very big clue. The shallow world of showbizz he knew he was dealing with from a very deep and crazy wonderful poet he was way ahead of his time and the mainstream mediocrity just fuelled his rebellious streak. The Doors were a totally unique bunch of the right people to put out the incredible music they delivered this is the END what a band.
I saw him in the New Haven arena when he whipped out his junk and got arrested. It was a crazy night in an arena with horribly poor acoustics. It took me years to "forgive" that concert and cruise for the rest of my life with admiration and enjoyment of his music.
It was customary for senior line officers to be "bumped up" a rank on retirement. I knew a Air Force general who told me that and he got his second star upon retirement. Also is was common for senior pilots to be grounded for physical problems just before retirement to get VA disability payments. I disagree with the practice since it is basically sucking the taxpayer for more money that was not actually earned but I never said so to the two star even as a civilian.
Jim Morrison is a top 10 poet of all time. Him and Kurt cobain get slighted becuz of their cliche “rock n roll” imagine, but their work SPEAKS for itself.

There's film of a very young Harrison Ford as a camera guy assisting in the making of a Doors tour documentary. Jim and Harrison are in the frame together for a moment...
What is the film's name? Do you have a link?
@@MsTabitha1967 feast of friends. You can find it on RUclips
Love this story and Patti does a great impression of Jim's voice.
Patti and Jim, both great performers and poets, yet not the least bit pretentious.
🙃🤓😆🚀
Ĺove the door
I love that story sounds like something Jim would say
God I miss him, I remember when I saw him back in the 60s, strange times...
Yep, the 60s were a unique decade.
I think/feel because he spoke from his soul he caused a soul awakening in the people who truly listened…
JIM MORRISON é um fenômeno, ícone Imortal! Personalidade única, poeta, inteligente, culto, leitor fervoroso, grande vocal's, com excesso de vida e liberdade!!!! Grande líder!! Amo-te JIM , me faz falta! Grade JIM, THE DOORS ,melhor banda de todos os tempos! INCOMPARÁVEIS
Everyone has their own Jim Morrison opinion, from Lizard King to shy Poet, the sad Clown, the wild Rockstar always on something 😕,
To me as I've only read about his life he was a very intelligent but conflicted young man that had problems with his father.
Love his music. It was uniquely great.
1:46 somebody died electrocuted... 😞
Dizzy Makavelli you are the man!!
Wtf this was so funny
😂
I heard that too i thought wtf
MY GOD I'M DYING HAHAHAHAHA
Some people can't handle real...Patti's really sweet!
Genius. Band too. There energy was obvious. Yes 100%!
She is so great at telling stories :-D
At least there was Jim Morrison for a while
They are both exquisite poets. In the same vein for sure, Rimbaud and all that.
they were two completely different individuals. i so highly admire jim morrison but why compare them like it's some sort of competition? they're different people with different outlooks, each immensely inspiration in their own way.
Hey. I dont know much about this lady. But I found out she WROTE songs for BlueOyster cult.
Do you know if she was a satanist ?
I love her voice..Singing and talking
There's a refreshing authenticity to her, whereas the other 99% of show biz is so fuckin phony
That kinship that she's describing is so familiar for me when I listen to the doors or hear Jim's voice and words. I feel that I have part of whatever haunted him in me, or maybe even a part of jim lives in me.
I am the Burger King, I can do anything.
Now that's funny. Jim would like that.
Now that's funny. Jim would like that.
🤣🤣🤣
what a fuckin' hilarious i met Jim Morrison story! :D "the hamburgers are good too"..."thankyou" OMG,really? that's ALL? hahaha...she was probably embarrassed and they probably neither of them knew what to say,but it is just such a funny story! i love Patti Smith.
That made me smile
She wasn't on the same level as Jim... Not even close
Disagree
oh, stop it.
Right.. jim was a god... patti was a art student nobody.
I totally agree with you ... but she knew how to use Jim's name when she started her career, which I personally never appreciated..!!!
This dopey comment is irrelevant, unless they were in a competition for idol worship
She’s a treasure to music
we love patti smith.
Very nice -sweet lady, Patti!
Jim was very perceptive and knew this sort of thing happened, why do you think the food was before the party.
she forgot the part where jim stole her hairbrush and never gave it back...
+sküll düggery She looks like she's been punched in the face a few times.
+sküll düggery I couldn't imagine her all dolled up on the red carpet...she would look weird.
lalala6751 pull out the Burma
I heard she hasn’t brushed her hair since
The hamburguers are really good too!
Ha HA Ha - That is the BEST STORY and Patti didn't even consider it until the very end. Awesome!
Jim Morrison never told me to try the hamburgers in my lifetime. Damn..
Rock Stars, they’re just like us. 😂 A fan of both.
You saw The Doors, he was never a solo act.
Living in the past is the same as being dead.
What I wouldn't have given to see him live. He even performed down the road at Roundhouse in camden when I was 6
She song like jim morrison at her 1st album. Jim did it all before . Legend of legend jim morrison😎
Jim Morrison is a top 10 poet of all time. Him and Kurt cobain get slighted becuz of their cliche “rock n roll” imagine, but their work SPEAKS for itself.
"Jim Morrison was one of our great poets". Oh dear.
Very cool!
"I could do that"
HAHAHA, OH MY, I LOVE HER!!
Calm down ffs
Similar to John Lennon when he saw Elvis in a movie. He said something like that's a good gig, that's what I wanna do!
The Hamburgers are good, too.
I love this Motherfkn Poet !
first of all i didnt even get a commercial the first time i watched this so i cant say im in the same boat as everyone else, but isnt talking about how much they piss you off to complete strangers on the internet a bigger waste of time than muting it and scrolling down to the comments section in hopes that someone is actually talking about jim morrison (the reason most of us are here). at least you can say you tried...
There are several interviews of Jim here on YT and one in particular is abut his love of food and that he believes there is nothing wrong with being FAT! And it's halarious!
Jim is a intelligence agent. Retired now.
really cool Jim + Patti ... Just Kids
She's so sweet. TheLisbonGirl : )
Love Patti.
And your Funny..in a keen & witty Sense... Love the story about the hamburger~ cute! ;)
