Absolutely the best instructional video for intermediate bone players looking to progress to advanced players. Great technique. Clear explanations. Great challenge. Very cool. Going right to your site. Thank you.

Thank you for watching! I'm playing with a set of rosewood bones in my right hand and actual polished/shaped bone bones in my left hand. I got both from Lark in the Morning.

Wow... I'm grinning ear to ear watching this. It is great to see someone with actual musical knowledge and terminology explaining this stuff. I'm already doing a lot of what you describe, but these specific examples provide some GREAT new challenges. THANK YOU for the excellent quality and clarity in explanation. (I think I may retire my "rudiments" of the bones series after seeing yours!!

Ten years later and it's still one of the best tutorials on RUclips.
Do you still have the pdf to download?

Very good! I actually play these patterns pretty much with all types of different music since very young 13- now I am 57! It can be tricky to play with the music but It's a piece of cake for me as i have been at for so long. Good job.

Wow, James! I that's really fantastic. Good thinking to pull the common triplet on the bones out into straight meter use. Love it. Thanks for your demos:)

This is a really old video, but it's fantastic. I can't for the life of me get the coordination down, yet. Still practicing.

Great vid, great rythmic deconstrucción, but i had a questión what will be a normal rythm for playing iris, celtic music, bluegrass. Its there established patterrn for each rythm ? or its only about inprovisation under de tempo? and if a comun pattern exist where can i find a tab or maybe a video tutorial because everything i had found on youtube its related to holding and getting the triplets but i don´t know how that translate while accompany a song , i`m really interest in this thank you

btw... would you be willing to put a name on a technique I'm doing, if I upload a video? I assume it has a drum rudiment equivalent.

If you login to your RUclips account, then check out my page, I've just (5/4) put the private video there. Thanks for your feedback.
