My dad taught me to play the rhythm bones when I was 13. Dad played a Gibson six-string guitar and a harmonica in a neck-holder simultaneously such songs as Red River Valley, Turkey In The Straw, etc. I really thank my dad for teaching me to play the bones. I never learned to play guitar; I learned play ragtime piano instead.
Beautiful music.Thank you!🙂🙏💗✌👍👂👂🌹🌼🌷🌻
I've had the pleasure of watching Barry play many times. Barry is a one of kind guy!
Very cool! I found in a band section this instrument I'd never heard of and it sounds fantastic, especially with Barry playing.
Excellent.
Fantastic!

The Carolina Chocolate Drops feature the bones a lot, too. I first noticed the bones when I saw the Gillette Brothers...
Barry is a hoot to watch!
3:05 "Barry can play with both hands equally well."
How many people play bones in the first place?
More than you would think - and two-handed. Barry's a bit wrong on the history end, but he plays fine, and has been darned lucky.
went to school with him, he is awesome too
This guy played at my school today
SALUTE TO A 'LEGEND'
Can it be that Ian Dury was singing about bones?
Oldest instrument in the world. They found them in caves.
This instrument is called the khartaal. Look it up!
No. They are the Irish bones
Indian khartaals are slightly larger and held and played in a very different way
and absolutely not remotely the same.@@carenataocinqueporte
Best bones player in the world my ass. Come to Ireland if you want to see real bones playing.
