Shanty is the Eddy Gordo of this game once in motion and if you keep her in motion she’s just a whirlwind. Charging in every direction bouncing off the edges of the stage, diving. The power of Goats run strong in this one
I thought Tian was bad, then this character came out and I stopped playing multiplayer. Salt mines and arcade for me until the next story comes out.
So her musical motif is a tropical one with steel drums! That fits pretty well with the "island" theme as opposed to "pirate".
It kinda fits though since she's not _really_ a pirate, she just wants to be one~

That one feels better... If you listen super closely to the first song we ever got of her, it's super similar to Gangplank Galeon, King K. Rool's theme from Smash Bros... It's still there, but now it's more unique...

There’s steel pans in her theme?!?! As someone who is Tobago/Trinidadian decent (where steels pans originated from) and has a steel myself, this makes me extremely happy! Thank you, for the work you guys do!

I just appreciate the effort that Shanty has a unique attack that also causes a unique animation for her opponent, rather than regular hitstun.
Oh, also that Shanty appears to have a button just to say "AY!"
That move has three charge levels, so she actually has more to say...
and that button is "22A". it's how she gains magic!
That AY! seems like the kinda thing everyone in the venue yells when they hear it and I love it!

Possibly the coolest playable character in the game! Gotta love her voice, Jamaican accent, appearance & quick-as-lightning fighting style! She's basically the Eddy Gordo of "TFH", only way more faster.

I seriously love what you’ve been able to make here. It’s a shame Hasbro sucks but you’ve still got such a cool fighting game to show for your hard work. Keep it up!
I'd argue that the Hasbro C&D was the best thing to happen to Mane6 - it forced them to be more creative, and we've got a better game for it.

Usually C&D just ruins the devs spirit and they loose any want to make new game from scratch.
These devs are an exception to the rule but you are still correct, this game now can stand on it's own merits due to original characters.
I hope it'll go somewhere as well, imagine if this game gets more lore and... Potentially it's own TV series? 0_0

Oh man, she looks like she's gonna be a ton of fun to play.
Ascetically, SHanty is turning out to be a favorite of mine. Look and design are just epic for this little goat lass. The voice was a shock to me at first... But REALLY fits her well. I am quite excited to hear the musical mixes that accompany this new addition to an already fantastic roster.
Can't wait to listen to steel pan and hurdy gurdy on all the stages (as I get crossed up by every day 1 Shanty)!

Relax, she’ll have her own Story Mode chapter once the main 6 (😜) are complete.
All you need to know via Word of God is that she’s an orphan and street urchin who is very interested in joining a pirate crew, but they don’t think she has what it takes to join them. To prove it, she resolves to look for treasure, but not just any treasure - she’ll steal the greatest treasure of all: the Prophet’s Key.
One last thing, her pirate ship? *NOT HERS.* Maybe she stole it, who knows?
Has she thought about the Predators that she'll encounter soon?

Not gonna lie, kinda surprised that the game developers don't recruit some animators to make an animated series of these characters... I could see that.
Like Jananimations, or other animators who have done a similar style.

Ya know when I heard the extra character would be a goat, a Jamaican pirate was not what I excepted. But I’m definitely not disappointed.

@@fatyoshi696 Maybe he meant the Woodlands pixel lobby map? It probably uses sprite backgrounds we'll see later in story mode at some point. We got "A Dreary Place" (Paprika's lobby) before chapter 1 of story mode.

So it takes 7 months of work to make a dlc character. For a team the size of Mane6. And that also involves them doing other things like balance patches,lobby stuff,and performance optimization. So yeah.

Today I decided to buy it. The character, the design, the skills, the voice, everything is perfect. Very good work on this game. I hope it is not the only DLC, I am looking forward to seeing more characters.

Shanty's basically a ground-based Tianhuo.
shes basically a close range oleander, she needs to ya to gain meter then spend them to dash...she makes herself pretty vulenrable if she ya's and then you punish her for it very sim to olelander has to read to get magic. But that def makes her unique

Nice to finally hear Shanty's voice. Lookin' forward to get an understanding of how her moves, combos etc work!
the big thing is that a lot of the crazy extensions/getting on the wall/running/flippy jump axe kick stuff is Magic.
It feels a lot like her gameplan is going to be using Hard knockdown off of Cutlass (the bushin gram lookin' move on 236A) or throw, using that opportunity to use parley (22A, can be charged to 3 seperate levels to say either "Ay!", "Aye!", or "YAAAR!!!") to charge her magic so then she has the crazy tools to open you up/frametrap with runstance cancel, or take advantage of the crazy grounded/wall mobility.
The ability to low or high profile just on her normals is nuts. 2B seems to put her hitbox really low and slide her in, while 6C lets her high profile stuff like grounded Shadow Sparks, Ari super, and a bunch of other stuff before coming down with a big ol' overhead... or if you hold 6C, the actual attack won't come out so you can do stuff like... fake overhead into throw!

When Skullgirls 2nd encore's DLc Character came up, Them's Fightin' Herds also did released a dlc Character, What Game will be next to released a new Dlc Character
Maybe it's the animation, maybe it's just that I'm kind-of a fighting nerd, but dang if I didn't see a ton of Capoeira in there. Those back spinning kicks and the turnaway backflip kick/stomp especially.
