@@JJempire04 PC for now. The Linux port is coming on the same day as the update, and the MacOS port is TBD. All 3 versions will be cross-compatible. Consoles will come when they’re ready.
All the good people I fight against tell me to watch my recordings back but I always forget to start recording! This is such a nice feature with great looking replay controls. And being able to apply all the training data over replays? So cool
We love this feature and it's within our capabilities, but it's too late for 2.0. They sort of surprised us with it after we were feature locked for development.
I've been following you guys since the original FiM project and I love how a small-time dev studio made an amazing game with great mechanics, awesome gameplay, fun characters, amazing online, and more. You guys continue to innovate in the fighting game scene with features like this, too. Thanks you guys so much!
this is great! replays that dont have input viewers + hitboxes are honestly so behind the curve. i really hope that you guys can make this the best it can, and hopefully, we can see implementation of the "take control" option from guilty gear +r! best of luck to you guys!!!
Implementing "take control" is something they're going to have to try out later. ArcSys kinda sprung that on all of us unexpectedly and it was kind of too late to put it in TFH, ha.
They’re indie devs, they know what we want better than AAA companies. It’s a labor of love than a cash-grab project 🙂 Yet if they added the recent “Replay Control” feature from Accent Core Plus R, that’ll be amazing!
2 days before my birthday. Also, Yooooooooo, Was Lindsey the one who put that bit of foliage shake in the woodlands stage when things go thud? I LOVE that sort of detail in games like third strike where everything in Hugo's little apartment in that game would jolt each time someone got a hard knockdown.
They are probably not going to do physical copies for non backers, because they have shown in the past that they will not make available things that were for backers only to people who did not back the project. The idea being that it would make the backer rewards less special.
Yesss, this is gonna be great for learning from those matches where a high-ranking player destroys us! My only concern is if the replays are going to last only until the next balance update, as the game's properties would change, but I suppose it's really hard to work around that, but it's still an excellent feature!
In that case, like with Super Smash Bros., before a significant update ships that would bork saved replays, you could capture and render into a video the replays you want to save for later viewing.
How the hell do you code these files? It's either a record of everything that's happening on every frame, which would make a huge file size, or it just determines everything that would happen given the inputs, which would require a record of every single build for it to last, which would make a huge game size.
iirc most fighting games do replays by saving the inputs of the characters in the fight and then build the fight from the inputs. That's why whenever an update occurs that changes some character's frame datas, the replays from before become obsolete since some moves wouldn't come out as they would before.
It's basically just input & data files that the game is playing back, there's really nothing much to it. On the Discord server, Cam stated he has 271 replays saved and they total 8 MB in size. It's not as huge a deal as you think it is.
I remember a long while back, there were character spotlights for Arizona and Oleander on Aaron’s own channel and supposedly they were either going to be remade or just taken down eventually. Any comment on if they’ll make a come back for other characters like Paprika or Pom?
Aaron has expressed interest in doing those again, but then he kind of became the Production Director and company President, so he's got a lot on his table. Maybe when everything has been balance-tweaked and Level 3 Supers have been added to the game, he can consider making new spotlight videos, since the characters will basically in their final forms. Oleander's spotlight actually became outdated within days of its upload due to balance changes to her teleports, so... lol.
Long after the Linux port is released this month, but it’ll take time to make, yet it’s nothing complicated like Linux. (Same applications, just have to clear several Apple standards and practices)
The Mac port is almost finished. They didn't want to release it AND the Linux one at the same time and have to field bug reports for both at once. So they're doing Linux first and making sure it's stable, then polishing off the Mac port, which is always going to be more complicated than Linux, because you know how Macs be.
They’ll work on Chapter 2: Velvet after they add Lv. 3 Supers, and that will be in the next update (3.0). Chapter 2 IS coming this year man, keep the patience for a little while longer. In the meantime, enjoy the GOAT 🐐 on a BOAT! ⛵️
ñeh, 2.0 its a hard pass for me, there is no reasson to be that hyped for a paid DLC character and a replay mode, maybe i'll give it a pass when 3.0 is out to see the new level 3 suppers and the woodland pixel lobby
They've been working on it alongside all this, with the narrative and the world design. Now that Shanty is almost out, the combat design lead is open to do their thing on Chapter 2 and get its combat encounters coded up. They haven't been ignoring it.
Aaron Stavely, back at it again with the Hi, I'm.
Aaron. Have you stopped making your character introduction trailers? You have only made two thus far. I was really starting to like those.
Hey is it coming to consoles or is it only on PC?

When is this game gonna be on the Switch?
This will create so many viral moments.
One example I've noticed is getting to see when a cornered player is button-mashing, and there's something inherently funny about that.
We'll finally know if you blocked that thing you were SOOO sure you did.
Shit... I’ll be exposed now 😭
I SWEAR I FREAKIN BLOCKED THE ELBOW, NISA!!!
By using input display + frame advance... we can finally rub salt in our wounds and count how many frames we were too late pressing block or throw...
only cowards don't save their replays
when the community is so good we need a replay feature to see where the mistakes were made
LET'S GOOOOOOOO(at)
Wonderful graphical overhaul to the Woodlands stage! It looks so much cooler now, awesome job, mane6!
AAA games can’t even play online without slowing to a janky crawl, meanwhile here’s Mane6 making an awesome and innovative replay system. Incredible.

You missed the main announcement.
@@dogman15 It’s the replay system (which was what I meant when I said “they casually threw this at us”) and the release date. Did I miss something?
All it needs is the Accent Core +R "Take Control" feature and it would be perfect!
