I love it! Part one was fun to watch ... . For WVW dont miss the top 3 after RG GD, VoTF and VII. Mithrillix was the glory for VoTF. For famous player ofc Nico from Snowcrows monster as pve Mesmer. For pvp Lord Asura. There was a speach from sacrx about the guilds and their ranks. Including Ogro from RG.

Part3 - include some legendary train commanders and mentors. Players who help give other players a great experience in the game. Like Mother Laverna (Laverna Yerai) on Aurora Glade.

There is a player I've seen in maguma jungle who is called "squad for hp" or something like that. He is on almost everyday and he runs the zones to give people the hps. He runs for about 2 hrs and even uses his Mesmer to portal people who don't have the ability to reach some of the points. He only asks for tips and I think he's a great guy.

He gave me 50 ectos I needed to finish my Sunrise when Legendary crafting was first released, we talked super friendly for about 2 hours and we parted ways both adding each other. We talk still from time to time mostly whenever new patches come out. He's a really nice guy and I honestly didn't know he was that famous until I heard people talk about him later the same year. Just shows how genuine the man is. He used gives out gold randomly in map chat as well though I'm not sure he still does that. Edit: grammar

It's actually pretty easy to create your own small story in this game (not on a large scale like most of these players, but still . . . ) I'm playing on a pretty bad WvW server and sometimes almost involuntarily lead some smaller groups there because I wanted to grab my WvW dailies - and people actually remembered that and thanked me in chat or whispers days later because they never did any medium-sized objectives there (only capping camps and killing guards, I guess).

I’ve been in the game since GW1 first came out and have many great memories, which these videos are bringing back to life. I’d love to see one on great/influential content creators over the years - there have been many who have been astounding and especially influential for their time (Wolfineer, Osicat, GWFox, Bob the Potato, etc). If you decide to go this route I’d be most happy to provide you links and backgrounds to support my views on their selection.

    Great part 2. Being (formerly) active in both the NA PvP & WvW (DB->Mag), I'll touch on a few of them;
    PvP
    1. Yes, PvP bans were lifted
    2. Naru is probably one of the more genuine fun-to-be-around guys in PvP. Most of the selling was orchestrated by Nos (Up until the bans)
    3. Plenty of other players were known for buying wins in-game (cough Moobs cough)
    WvW
I was brought over in Hymn when they started their run in Mag. I then saw a gold opportunity for daddy xuxu, and 250-500k is an extremely lowball estimate for Xushin. I played as Commander Commander/Ronald Mcdonald/Wikedtik repping [MOA], [Hymn], or [TG]. Started pugmanding/ktraining EBG, recruiting random players/guildless players to MOA, told Xushin we were transferring over from T8 (not entirely false). Got 70K, give/take 5K, myself. Xushin also paid 250g/weekly for about 3-4 months for pugmanding. Thanatos was his primary fundraiser, apart from him botting the silverwastes.
11/10 video, thanks for bringing back some mems.

A Danish guy I think who was so calm when leading, giving great instructions and encouragement to the zerg following him. I followed him when ever he was commanding - such a cool dude. I dumped into him on BDO a couple of years ago and he recreated his guild and attracted a lot of former GW2 players. Worthy of a mention.

Guild MM has his own RUclips channel about making gold called, "Guild MM". He strikes me as a very interesting and nice guy. MightyTeapot did a video on in-game Barons.
I still play Guild Wars One occasionally and it's amazing to see some hard core players still playing solidly. Like the Hungarian Alpha - Peter Kadar who farmed 100 ectos in UW as a dervish in one day and the same challenge in FoW for obsidian shards. He still makes great GW1 content. You even have a hard core within a hard core of players who just stay mainly in pre-searing. You can't get closer to the origin of Guild Wars than that.

I noticed this video had few PvE names. One I have seen for years is someone going by Brother Drake with his Pilgrimage across Tyria. Unless you are out in the areas, you would not notice him. I am not sure of much about him but when I was in a mainly farming mode, I would see him each weekend. Not sure if that person meets your standards but I thought it would be fun to mention.

it is so difficult to appreciate a video like this since, like most MMOs, gw2 lies in the shadow of WoW. I do hope you keep at it tho, GW2 is a great game so i love hearing how the community rallied around certain heroes or villains :D like the very first infamous person, the hacker. i remember that moment in time because i was still playing gw2 at the time and i remember reading about this and talking to all my friends about it because it was so funny and awesome.

Don't know if this counts because they weren't really crazy famous. But there was this guy on Anvil Rock who used to help new players in the early days of the game. From what i remember he was an early beta tester who stayed with the game. I forget his original name but he later became "Hisoka The Arrow". He'd commonly sit around in random spots in queensdale and help teach new players and would give anyone he helped he gave a full set of exotic gear for whatever was meta at the time for their class as well as 50 gold. Was in Anvil Rocks HOTS guild (who i believe eventually transferred servers). Basically if you found him he'd help, just sitting there waiting. As new players started to die out I started seeing him lead champion trains and world boss trains, as well as commanding for anvil rock in EB and edge of the mists (back when it was worth farming and actually kinda fun). He was a weird dude though. Unlike most commanders in edge he didn't like the standard "run in circles for the train", he thought it should be more fun. So he'd take practically everything then just mess with the other servers. I remember once we got as many siege devourers as we could then we'd just hit and run other servers. Another time he bought everyone there that tonic that'd turn you into trees so we all just became a forest and would attack people when they got close. He was really good at keeping what was ours too. As long as he was on and in a commanding mood we'd never loose anything, just gain and keep. But he was never the type about winning, he just wanted to have a good time.
He later got paid to transfer and command in TC but then didn't like it, so he paid them back and went back to his old ways (i forget what guild paid him but from what i heard it was quite a bit of gold). Later I heard he joined CERN and would command every now and then when he felt like but was always just doing just whatever he felt like was most fun at the time. Around this time i transferred to tc too (must have been bad luck because right when i transferred all the serious wvw guilds were leaving). Said the guilds he was in wanted him to transfer too but he didn't care to and made his own guild "Laughing Phoenix" where it was just him. He'd take enemy towers and declare them as his saying "this is property of the laughing phoenix" and keep people away until the zergs came. Even then he wouldn't go down with out a fight and would take out stragglers and weaker players. I once saw him piss off a zerg soo much that totally gave up on taking the tower just to chase him halfway across EB unable to kill him. Druids were broken (i haven't played for a while but may still be). Last i heard he had quit but randomly hops on every now and then and is back to sitting in his favorite spots around the world and helps if he sees anyone struggling.
He may not have been famous, but he was a legend in my book and was one of the reasons I stayed with gw2 for a while. When i started I thought it was extremely bland rinse and repeat. He helped me out as a new player and showed me and others of fun it could be. every now and then i feel like jumping on to see if he's on and if i could find him.

Let me tell you about Pope Manizach.
The richest player in GW2 and the guy basically single handedly broke the market.
They guy played the AH and got rich af. What to do with all this money? Idk, but what happend was. GW released an event where it dropped a lot of precursors to the legendaries and they went really cheap on AH. Manizach bought up ALL OF THEM for 5-10g until nobody sold em anymore and then he started to bump up the price to 500g. After that he took over the whole economy.
The guy had all the money in the game. He could buy up anything "expensive" and then sell them for even more expensive price.
I think he sold his gold to goldselling website and got really rich IRL.

Oh nice! Did not expect a part 2. If part 3 is coming, I can only suggest Wolfineer. A renowned engineer player that wrote the Engineer's Handbook, made builds and was a big part in GW2's engineer community. Just a shame he quit the game good few years ago. :

I like these kinds of videos, reminds me of when I use to play Archeage and all the chat about this whale called Romeo, dude was rich IRL and spent like $200k real money to craft the absolute best gear that nobody could ever get close to, and he was unkillable. Everyone knew who he was and tried to team up to take him down, sorta felt like a raid in pvp or something.

Honestly, the reason I watched the first one was to see if Mel was in it. Judging by how many people showed up to her in-game funeral, she had a much wider impact than just our guild. Moon is also a good choice. They should both be in it.

cloudfly is the golden angel that ran SEA for JQ (I don't know where he is now), used to rally the pugs and put huge hours into the game mode. sorta like cookie on BG
