I hadn't thought about the "shifting" of thinking patterns that would be needed. We can teach most anyone to do anything, so its just a matter of letting the brain fart dissipate.
Just fabricated a sissy bar, all stainless tig welded with a dragons tail. My next project is a suicide shifter for my 1998 1100 shadow aero. Love yours. Nova Scotia as well
Suicide shift dates back to the 30s 40s.Foot clutch, hand shift. Take your foot off the clutch and engage the clutch. Have to keep the foot on the clutch pedal to release the clutch 😊😊
I have ridin since ‘83 and never used a suicide shifter. Haha. I think I would be real nervous for a while. I agree, it’s just a matter of getting you mind set into a new routine.
Reminds me of a 1963 Ford Econoline. It shifted a little differently. It was a three speed on the tree, or column shift to some. It is definitely not millennial friendly. hehe
I was struggling with a few shifts..seemed to lock up from third down..had to jimmy it a bit..what I was doing was holding the lever in place after I shifted..instead of letting it reset..figured it out today.. it would be like shifting up with your toe and holding it there..then trying to shift again without letting the shift lever reset. Voila!!
I am 85 now, I have a 2007 street glide. Age and infirmity caused me to mount a sidecar. My left leg is too weak to manage a foot shift any longer. I am having a jockey shift installed. Hope it helps
You dont loose the push turn at the bar just becuase the clutch lever isnt there sorry to say , i have suicide shift and duel clutch set up , all custom and i know first hand literally.....
Great explanation!
Just an adjustment.
Sweet bike! Thx and good day

Awesome. Very inspiring. Best of travels my friend.
Thinking about ordering one. Are you still happy with it, 2 years out?
I actually sold the bike. To be truthful, it was more of a gimmick I think. It was cool but I would have gone back to stock if I kept the bike.
@@Frontireadventures thank you. I appreciate the feedback. Ride safe.

Slow ...speed skills? You must have the clutch lever engaged...that I know.
