  • i've had this mini 14 for several years, but fired it VERY FEW times. a couple days ago, i thought i would use it, to try out a couple of TAPCO, generation 2 mags. i loaded 4 "brass" reloads in the first mag.., and 6, cheap "steel-case" rounds, in the second.
this is an older, 186 series (mfg in the '90's), but it works perfectly, except.., most of the time, the bolt won't "hold open" after the last shot. but, having owned/shot an ak, for years, this is no big deal.
when i was in "boot camp," back in the '60's.., we trained with an m1 garand. maybe that's why that these "mini 14's" are "funner than hell" to shoot.
i don't know if this rifle has had a "trigger-job" done.., but it feels like a good "bolt action" rifle.
