Gerry joined The Ventures in 1968 and travels to Japan every summer to play concerts with The Ventures. Gerry McGee was the second great lead guitarist in the Ventures, joining for "Hawaii Five-O" and playing on scads of records and tours. Legendary guitarist Gerry McGee, 82, died of an apparent heart attack in Tokyo Oct. 12 while on a solo tour of Japan.
It is very nice to see the guitarist gets down from the stage and walking in the midst of the enthralled audience. And the other artists from the stage watching him moving is quite a scene. Great.
The Ventures are the greatest guitarists of this present UNIVERSE..Their fame will remain for ever and ever.We miss BOB.I believe the Ventures would enthrall the Gods above forever.I also believe that there would never be another group ever again.It is a great surprise that they were always together till BOB left for his heavenly abode

Growing up thru the 50'-60's,Ie always gravitated towards the Ventures.I always preferred the "Fender" years. Imagine my surprise at 12-13 yrs.,when they switched to "Mosrite" guitars.Now a days it's Lady Gaga got a new hairdo.

ベンチャーズの「朝日のあたる家」は初期のノーキーの頃から何パターンも聴いているが、ジェリーマギーのこの時の演奏がテクニックといい音色といいアドリブといい最高のプレイだと思う。これぞプロの演奏、アドリブの極み。演奏が終わってボブボーグルが「ジェリーマギー素晴らしいギター！」と言っていたが、ベースマンの彼も思わず聞き惚れてしまったんだろう。今にしてみればこの頃が彼の円熟期、絶頂期だったと思う。2019年の彼の演奏では見るも聞くも哀れなほどテクニックも下手になり、往年のベンチャーズリードギタリストの面影も消えている。有難う、ジェリーマギー。貴方は素晴らしい名ギタリストだった。
