- For this young family, life in a tiny house is largely centred around a desire to live with a lighter footprint and do something good for the environment.

Going zero waste and cutting out single use plastics has been helped by living in a tiny house, where the small home makes the family more aware of their consumption. Mark, a Vegan chef has also leveraged debt free living in a tiny house to start his own plant based pop-up restaurant.

Early 90's b4 this was a 'fad-thing' I saw silliness ofowning huge house space and waste. Bought a house for less than paying apt rent and started using the savings (screw landlords and bankers) to be more environmentally sound as I kept up with the tech & movement. Instead I intend to be a little old lady in a self sustaining OWNED home in the city next to downtown.
I am using the Brave browser now, and have been for a while. It is great, and not hard to use.

Yes i too will build a house in Guatemala to be debt free ..screw the gov and big corp.. my hard work my money...this is the movement we need to push forward thank guys for all your great vids much luv for all of youz...
I wish Bryce does follow up interviews a few years after these types of initial interviews.
That would be cool.
Yes. Would be interesting to see how long the cloth nappies & no soap lasted.
English Muffin Cloth nappies can easily go until baby is potty trained, but once baby is on solids, I imagine they will need a detergent to get rid of the smell. Also, my cloth nappies/ diapers would get a strong ammonia smell, we did use white vinegar and bicarbonate of soda and sunshine but sometimes they NEED a proper detergent.
umma a Thankyou for replying, that is interesting, we would often have to strip our nappies but always had the same problem. The nappies I had were recommended to be washed at 60 degrees Celsius. My youngest is 9 now, I don’t need nappies for babies anymore, just reusable san pro for myself but this is good to know, if a friend has similar issues I can pass on your advice!
Sunshine and snow are fantastic for dealing with cloth nappies. Just scrape, soak and then cold wash with detergent....I liked grated sunlight soap, rinse well and hang out in the sun to dry.
that's easy. 99.9% of them are just doing this as a showcase to sell.
Tiny Houses are working to change more than just the weather climate. It's changing the idea that "gotta-have-bigger/more/all" isn't the happiest way to live.
I'm much happier in our 576 s.f. home than I was in our 2100+s.f. home.
I wish these were available when I was young! I would have had one as soon as I could. All that rent money was like water down the drain.
Tina Gallagher exactly
Small living should be about compromising space to save money and gain freedom ..these nutjobs buying a tiny house thats as expensive as a big house to say that you are living small for green-ness and others ?--blaaa..and living as small as that in a couple? I don't buy that its as great as they want to made it out. I could do it myself, happily.. but another person with me.. ehhh. romance will quickly die .. haha
I think that the "gotta have bigger/more" lifestyle soon proves to ALL the people that its a wrong way to live, but not all of those discover the better alternative. That is why we should teach by examle and show children that you can be in connection with nature and yourself, without the "rat race" part.
This couple is so healthy, happy and caring for our planet and the next generation. And the house is gorgeous. Congratulations!!!
69 Kevrolet Fastback The husband looks emaciated. I worry for he baby.
idk, he doesn't look that healthy, more like starved

I never get bored watching Tiny houses videos😍😍😍💕💕
Same here! Im addicted, lol
yesss.. it is my dream.. I hope some day I will be able to get some land.. and then find a way to build a tiny house legally with all these crappy laws. both being obstacles which are wayy to hard to overcome nowadays. But I guess it's meant to be, people need other folks to rent. would be a disaster to the powerful if everybody had their own property and was able to sustain themselves lol
Especially with Bryce.
Yeah me too

Zero waste, plant based AND a tiny house? They really are living the perfect lifestyle.
perfect lifestyle..?
wait till babies are born,a few of them living in this "caravan".
or wait till the Local Authority came a knocking, telling them they can't live in this illegal structure..
then it won't be perfect lifestyle no more..
igetrealpettysis ...the vegan lifestyle is not that perfect. Most vegans stop within 3 years . The ex-vegan interviews abound for areason .
@@Pilot333 Huh I guess I'm an exception.. I've been vegn for 5 years now. Know plenty of vegans who have been vegan for 10+ years. It's really not that hard
Whats in a name I get what u mean but a lot of those ex vegans were eating very unrealistic and or had digestive issues meaning it was difficult for them to process legumes so they’d be nutritionally lacking. Also many receive bad advice and do not so healthy things such as extensive water fasts, eating not enough calories and having mainly mono meals ( only eating papayas for a meal or just avocados or just mangos). While I thing the vegan diet can be done properly I don’t think there is enough good information out there and many influencers can mislead people. But I believe from the research I’ve done that a proper balanced vegan diet is far healthier than the standard western diet. But I don’t like when people preach and push their ideals on you. It scares people, including myself, away. They should just let people come to them if they want to learn.
@@Pilot333 you're an idiot. Most people quit anything because people are weak like you. Look at the 60 and 80 year old vegans and rae vegans. They're healthier than any other seniors.
I love the idea of them giving their daughter the house when she's old enough. That's such a beautiful idea😊❤😊
Is that not what most parents do?
I have to say I feel at peace for these couples who are on their family's property. I am not mad at all.
My cousin and her husband built a huge house on his family's property. They didn't do it to save money. They did it because they enjoyed living close to each other.
These people are living my dream!! Tiny house, vegan, zero waste, i cant wait to be older so i can build a tiny house!!
Start with the flatbed trailer and go from there, that way it would force you to take yourself seriously
Unfortunately, years of continued veganism will lead to multiple nutritional deficiencies. (esp affecting teeth, bones and mental state>they get very stressed out.)
@@janonthemtn Think is the opposite. When you start eating vegan you discover so many new recipes. Educate more about vitamins, minerals etc. . Also include more vegetables and fruits that you rarely eat. What more nutritional than this.
“When she gets annoying we can just tow her further away” 😂😂😂 only been a parent for 3 weeks and he already has the right idea lol
That baby. So precious sleeping there. I really hope Bryce revisits this family.
Would like to see more people who have done this without the help of parents, especially living on their land. It feels a bit unachievable for those of us who don't have that kind of support.
There's a great video on this channel of an older couple in New Zealand (?) who bought the land themselves for like $20k. It's not a huge property but they have a few different structures and a wonderful garden.
As a person who doesn't have that help, I think it's really doubtful I would buy and live in a tiny house. A small apartment? A used airstream? Sure. But when I can buy an older but nice 1200 sqft house for around $140k, it doesn't make sense for me to build my own house and buy my own land.
We don’t have that type of support as well. So my husband posted on a buy and sell app in search of someone that would rent their land to us and we actually found someone. So we will build ours on her land with rent being $400/month.
I completely agree Sharnie, I was thinking the same thing myself. These videos are interesting, but to me they would actually be a lot more interesting with people who did not have that kind of financial help on their side.
Sharnie Williamson yeah I hear ya Sharnie like it's too easy for these people. Sounds like the old man but,t the house aswell. But I'm sure they were a part of the design process and the movie theatre lol
Aloha, I feel so sorry for the people that felt the need to vote this idea down ... as well as many more tiny house videos ... I can't afford even the cheapest either.. but I am still happy for those that are lucky
enough to be able to.
What I love about living zero waste is that it forces you to actually think about what you are eating. Essentially, it forces you to give a shit about your health. Totally dig this tiny house. I could easily live here.
How does this zero waste work with hygene, though? Toothpaste. Where do you buy unpackaged toothpaste? Shampoo, shower gel? Well, you could use soap, but I think he said they don't use soap or detergent. So how does their stuff get clean? And baby poops into the diapers, too. They just wash it down the sink? What will they do once the poop gets solid? No tissues or toilet paper allowed or are they allowed? How do you get poopy diapers clean without a detergent? Or have I heard that one wrong?
I don't know about you guys but when they showed the baby's room, I immediately stopped making noises so it wouldn't wake her up hahahahah

Bryce, I've got to say that I think you have the best tiny house channel out there! Great interviewing, videography, etc.
This channel and Kirsten Dirksen's are my two favorite tiny house, simple living channels. They're the only two I have notifications set on for RUclips.
Bryce is always so positive, looking for the best parts of people's tiny houses, while still keeping a natural awe and wonder about seeing new designs.

@Lynn Roberts "flesh and blood needs same to replenish." You haven't thought about the billions of plant-eating animals that are, and have always been, on the Earth. I'll leave it to you to tell the gorillas and the rhinos that they've been eating wrong for so long...
@Lynn Roberts . You're an idiot.
Don't be mad at vegans just because you're fat, bloated, and weigh 400 pounds.
@Lynn Roberts Face palm!!!
There’s going to be fun and games with all those masonary jars when the baby gets on her feet lol!
I feel as though netting for example would be a cheap fix to that kind of problem. I'm sure they'll figure something out 😊
Not all little ones get into everything
Haha, yeah. They will definitely need to figure out that issue before she gets mobile.
I was thinking the same thing...
My grandchildren were brought up with mason jars, and they never had a problem--even used the jars with lids on as blocks!

Thank you, for the laugh-i.e. moving their daughter into the tiny house and moving it farther away if she gets annoying! Love it!
Best wishes to this family. I have a 7 month old. We live in a tiny flat in Wellington. We are also in the process of going zero waste. Being mindful of all the single use plastics and going strong with the reusable diapers. Impressive garden! Beautiful bubbah! Made me go "awww!"
The next-generation is so awesome, it's about zero waste, and a debt free lifestyle; this type of thinking make for a much better world 🌎. 🙌👍💥
Beautiful home! I love Bryce’s face when he saw the baby sleeping! ❤❤
That soft baby voice KILLS me omg when he’s talking to the baby

You find the coolest folks to interview! Love their mission for better stewardship of the planet. Not just in going Tiny, but in all aspects of their life. Inspiring ❤
I want someone to look at me the way he looks at his wife :,o Such a lovely family and home!
true
Funny, I was thinking that there was such a weird vibe...
I’ve seen a few comments like this. Either I saw a TOTALLY different video, or the very, very young haven’t yet developed a discerning eye. I wish this couple well (oops! I mean ‘family’), but that entire interview was painfully awkward. Cute house for a couple, though (maybe a retired couple).
GORGEOUS!!! Though I must say, that open shelving in the kitchen will be interesting once their daughter is and up and about toddler! But really...lovely.
Carole Warner exactly what I was thinking!
How do you find all these beautiful thoughtful and such lovely people! They think about living zero waist, living in accordance with their needs and have a very good sense of responsibility for the planet. They might be a generation that brings a hope for the future of our civilization.
I wish this young family many, MANY years of happiness. They put me to ABJECT shame, I am much older than they, and I STILL can't get my life together. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL FAMILY !!!
I hope the movement of people choosing small nature living above big debt city living will grow bigger and bigger! So the children get a more relaxed and humane childhood without adults stressing about debts in a toxic city.
macarthur field: How is your life going now? I think there's too much guilt taken on when we compare ourselves with others. Quit the shame and look at the positive things you have done. No one gets it all right, but then, no one gets it all wrong either. 😊

This couple is so nerdy and cute. You can tell they share a lot of depth with each other but are very nice and polite with guests and others.
Debt free = happiness and freedom
Also living modestly brings a lot of contentment and calmness to one's life.
Good choice of lifestyle, well done.
They have the Right idea no worries of paying the mortgage. Awesome job they did for a DIY.
Beautiful family, beautiful home. They are happy and proud of what they have built, and they did it with practical foresight and good intentions. Many of the people featured in this series are the kinds of people I would wish to be friends and neighbors, including Bryce. Positive, responsible, humble, curious, determined, and always learning and growing.
I like the back to nature feel. I grew up in the deep woods on a mountain side, with creeks, ponds and even a waterfall that could only be reached by trail. Walking in the mountain and studying various creatures and plants never got boring. Now I look on Google Earth and see that the mountain is now covered with houses. My mountain is gone, and makes me very sad. It was so quiet and peaceful. The solitude made me strong for the future. I long to find a place like what I used to have and feel free again.
This is one of the nicest tiny homes I've seen yet.The yard is wonderful also. You're both very bright young people and I wish you all the best with your new baby girl. :) Bless you and your baby and good luck for your future together. :)
Hi Bryce.

"Debt free" isn't that hard if you can build on your parent's property. Not to say they are bad people or to criticize the way they do it, but I would like to see people who can live debt free in this world without heritage - that would be much more interesting!
Kekkeyu exactly
Those peole, who can live debt free 100% on their own definitely exist. Check out Dave Ramsey's plan for getting out of debt if you want a simple plan that most anyone can follow.
Wouldn't you help your kids get started if you could? Living within your means is the first step to leaving real property without debt to your children.
Look up Rob Greenfield
I see that some folks were upset that this little family was living in the parents "back yard" and that they had "dad's" help in building their house. Family, living close together, helping each other, that's great. What parents wouldn't help their kids if they could. And your Grand baby is so close, I think that its great.
Ooooh, that is delightful -- that porch just makes it!
Beautiful, thoughtful, conscientious, plant based family! We need more people like this in the world
I wish there were more people like this couple in the world ⭐️
His tattoo, just went plant based, zero waste haha same just had my spiritual awakening, id loveee to live like this. such a beautiful space and garden!!!
This house is beautiful, as well as the land around it, and this family is lovely
;D))) love their wicked sense of humour , great parents and respect to the AWESOME grand parents for giving their kids and grand child such a wonderful opportunity and start in life and their on going support, beautiful ;D
Hey there it would be so fantastic if on all your travels and seeing/experiencing these dwellings if your able to show the viewers all the systems gas, electricity, hot water, what appliances they find they really use the most of and why, and the water harvesting composting systems each of these homes have. Essentially these are the things that make it less of a carbon foot print, self sastainable living and more :). Thanks heaps for sharing this with us all. Much health love and light to ALL (gal from oz)
Amazing couple with family supporting their dreams & ideas of a life for themselves & young one. Thanks again Bryce your presentations are so very important to living a better life on one's own terms x

Ultimate tiny house. Bryce is doing a good job. God bless. Him.
My gooodness this one is one of my top 3 favorites on your channel! I love this so much !
I raised my second child diaper-free, in a city apartment. It was waaaaay easier every time we were close to nature. So here's an idea to even lessen your footprint, and even better for the baby.
Lovely - enjoyed this. Nice young family with a sweet new baby.
Beautiful lovely house
Their daughter is gna have such a lovely upbringing and learn how to live a healthy lifestyle.
I think the copper basin and shower in the bathroom adds warmth and makes it more homely.i love seeing copper in a Tiny home.
Nice clean lines good use of natural accents and an ample deck space. For very tall people, I am surprised they didn't opt for a downstairs bed. Loads of loft space but low ceilings can get frustrating, maybe?
the kid is born; so theres no sex anyway
Wouldn't we adapt to being tall as we grew, and get used to it?
Best house I love it sm. The couple is soo sweet this is the first time I've seen a couple give more than enough space to a baby. That baby is blessed to have parents like her. What a lovely family and house
Beautiful surroundings, exterior paint is nice, gardens are lovely as this couple is as well~Perfect!

This is one of my favorite tiny house designs you've shared this year Bryce. Thanks for sharing!
I tend to prefer tiny house designs without a loft, and this one could work well with or without the loft. However, considering they have a baby it works really well for their situation.

Love the whole idea of this. Living a calm life..surrounded by nature. Live simply. Not harming our planet. Just perfect!
What a beautiful little house; really innovative and well designed. Also it's good to see someone young finally recognising how wasteful and environmentally unfriendly disposable nappies are. I hope others take note.
How ideal. Singapore, Hong Kong, and Tokyo are great places to find tiny but functional houses.
GOALS! The garden, the plant based lifestyle, the zero waste!! They nailed it! =) I LOVE the outdoors and the kitchen
After watching probably every tiny home video I have found one of the key factors to tiny house living is a parent or parents with land to let you park it everyone else to bad .. lol..
I love the idea of their daughter being born there, & them intending to pass it down to her. What an awesome legacy!
I like it’s zero waste and the way it integrates with its beautiful surroundings.
Love the house. Beautiful baby, Lots of good things. I do notice who speaks most often and how often mom looks away and purses her lips. You do know we are all whole creatures? We speak with our mouths most often, but so often the rest of us tells things we didn't necessarily ken.
Did you also notice how NOT into the whole ‘baby’ idea the husband was (except when he needed to make a ‘scene’ for the camera, and even then he could barely manage it)? My guess is the woman needed the baby for her own reasons, and it was NOT ‘planned’ and he was NOT pleased. What’s he going to do, though, right? He’s on the hook for the next 20 years no matter what. I don’t understand how so few people saw what I saw in this uncomfortably awkward interview. Maybe because I’m 55 years old and most of the commenters fawning all over this ‘darling family’ are 20?
Loooove this video. Im a vegan that follows a zero waste lifestyle, was fantastic to see something that would be similar to what I will want. I really like bed this video, thank you!
What a great cozy space!
I'd like to see how they live now, 5 years later and if they have built or extended their tiny house.
I would also like to see Alba grown up!
The one thing i dislike, the baby's room downstairs. Everything else is beautiful!
Do they ever talk about the legality of these things/how to go about making one? Would be very interesting
Franktaku legality depends on jurisdiction, ie where you want it. How to build them varies by type, but there's tons of videos from builds with vans, campers, caves, treehouses, trailers etc... Good luck!
Check Tiny it Yourself
thats why they live inthe fuckingnowhere
Franktaku That is something I am interested in also. I realize that it differs tremendously from location to location, but even highlighting that would be so interesting! In this case, because this Tiny House is located on his parents property, which seems to be on the large side, I guess it is just like having another out building?
Most of these homes are tagged as "RV's". You then fall under D.O.T. size and weight restrictions!
(Tiny homes only save you from building codes).
In the States, many tiny home owners are leasing land because it's illegal to riside in one. (camper, shed, bus) etc.
The real issue is getting domiciled! Anybody can "build" an out building or throw a school bus on a plot of land... as long as you don't claim it as a residence.
No thanks to the i.d. act post 911, it makes this lifestyle harder to obtain!
I'm addicted to this channel! Thank you RUclips recommendations!
Love yalls house. Big kitchen two bedrooms and nice bath. Plus the gardens are Lovely🤗
I really loves to see their frontyard, coz i loves to plant and grow vegetables and flowers...love the surrounding
Has anyone ever built a tiny house and not lived with their parents
Yes, what we did was issued bonds and pitched them to friends and family and even some strangers wanted in on it, and paid cash for the land and the materials, then worked and paid everyone off. mind you, it was easier to get land in the Seventies ...
Tiny houses are the new (and more expensive) basements. ;)
Really cool story, Love their Tiny Home & Tiny Baby. Great job Bryce.
So inspiring and make sense. Below 60K costs with considerably big land and garden with edible vegetation... Really is an awesome peaceful and debt free living. I been watching a few video of this type and I come to think about building a tiny home too.
Actually all I wanted to watch was tiny house but this couple had alot more to offer. The respect, genuine love and so humble. Thanks
I'm looking to live a lifestyle like this so thanks for sharing not only a tiny home, but a sustainable , low-waste one.
The title of this vid hit most of my wishlist.
