  • This tiny house has an incredible story to tell. At only 10m2 (or 108 ft2) this home on wheels has been constructed almost entirely from salvaged materials. Despite it's micro footprint, it's a fully functional home for a family of three.

Located on an incredible permaculture, this predominantly off-the-grid tiny house homestead uses solar power, solar water heating, rainwater harvesting and has it's own uniquely designed natural grey water treatment system. In the surrounding gardens, lots of organic food is produced with the help of an aquaponics system.

I was actually wondering if that type of metal was okay to use for an oven...? Not sure what type of metal it is actually, but I know some commercial products like that give off toxic gases when heated beyond certain temperatures. Does anyone know if this is okay to do? Great idea, just want to be sure it's safe.

What I liked about the house is how organic it is. How they've married recycled and natural materials with modern materials. The wood stove was genius. The use of the space with the walk ways and how they've considered the child's needs. The whole property is the closest I've seen that reflects what my vision is for my life. Can't thank you enough Bryce for finding these places for us to see :)

There's a lot to like, but I think I would build a bit more strength, insulation and finishes into it. Great to get ideas. BTW what I mean by finishes are, for instance, the stove may work great, but the rough surfaces in a small space would catch on clothes etc. Not hating one bit. I like to learn from others' journey, mistakes and changes they'd have made once they've lived in it a bit. I appreciate it.

I know very little to nothing about most of the things I want in my home, but want to make it myself, bcz I don't want someone else's version of it. This one is over the top in creativity, ingenuity, whimsy and charm. This is now my favorite of all the THOWs I've seen...and I've seen a lot. The layout of the garden and outdoors are gobs of icing on the cake...!!!

  • @Pinkenstein

This one takes first place in my book for aesthetic appeal! It's absolutely delightful, the way he's managed to use unremarkable, utilitarian (and scavenged, no less!! 😁) materials to create such a charming quirkiness! From every angle, this house is just darling!
It's quite admirable how he figured things out as he went along; perseverance and tenacity like that are something I think the world needs more of.
I love how they've situated the permaculture garden around the home, as well. To be able to, out of every window, look out over your very own beautiful, abundant garden... It's just dreamy 😍
What a cool place! I really, really love it!

The kids are learning important lessons. Cooperation, the value of hard work, sustainable energy. I don't see the usual toys here ; laptops, tvs, tablets, cars, bikes. Not a lot of "merchandise ". If there is a TV I bet it's for communal viewing.
The main expense seems to be the community land debt, which everyone is working to pay off. This works as long as everyone stays invested.

Sandra Nelson - Personally i love technology and i can tell by the way you called technology, 'toys' shows you are clearly deluded. It may just be your wording but since when have laptops, tablets, tvs and cars been for children? Also the important lessons you suggested, you can learn anywhere. You don't need to live in a tiny house in the middle of nowhere.

    • @dashie07e.92
      @dashie07e.92 6 лет назад +13

      Nigel
SERIOUSLY, WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM? You must be really young bcuz 'toys' are clearly what those items are called to us older more wiser individuals! Just like a man has 'his toys'=boat, motorcycle, golf clubs, trailer blah blah blah. If you don't understand what is being said CLEARLY ASK, don't be rude & assume cuz you know what happens when you do that....right?
Or should I explain that also?🤔🤔🤔

What a well thought out, creative, gorgeous property. Absolutely, building on a budget almost forces you to be imaginative and resourceful with your build. New materials and an 'architecturally designed' house would have failed to capture the spirit of this place! Quirky, unique, individual...how boring life would be if we were all the same! many thanks to you!

Pure magic! What a way to live! Captivating! It’s such a privilege being let in to peoples lives like this - you interview, film and present these so well that makes this safe for people to open up and let us in on the magic they have created - they all come across soo well. Very inspiring seeing people who make such intentional decisions about lifestyles and living situations. There’s always something to learn from them and something to relate to. Well done!

Although this tiny house was not in modern built but I fell in love with it and they've a wonderful garden. It is like a village house. Full of harmony and love. I remember my late grandparents village house. It is wonderful. We take open bath from well in the middle of a jungle. The water was so cold and refreshing. This tiny house family is full of love and caring. May God protect and bless them. Thank you so much for showing this video to us dear Bryce & Rasa.

I have been wanting to see a tiny house that had an alternative to high cupboards for kitchen storage. I want to make a tiny house be the lightest it can be. I like the dish rack storage and have this planned for mine... One day! Having everything in the open is easy access and makes the structure lighter, but does make it look a bit more cluttered than I would like I think. It's great to see different ideas from so many different videos, so we can pick bits we like from each one, for our own plans. Thanks Bryce.
