I appreciate your eloquence discussing the topic. I am a Christian and of a different opinion, but also respectful of your choice to shop where you choose. To me, many Christians are not displaying "loving your neighbor" and instead seem to encourage banning, intolerance, and self-righteousness. I also pray that unity and love can be restored.
Yes👏🏻. So many Christians acting the most unChristian like with their lack of love and inclusion. When I have read the Bible I have seen more verses about love, not judging, accepting all…many more than the few verses people love to reference when shaming and excluding others.
Remember Jesus was killed by religious leaders too. There’s a difference between religion and relationship with Christ, not all Christians have figured that out. We need to pray for them too
We are often taught that the most loving thing we can do is to accept people and let them continue living with false beliefs and unhealthy and sinful habits. The Bible teaches that love is patient and kind, but that it rejoices in the truth. Culture is introducing and promoting sin at a very young age, which is having really tragic consequences for pre adolescent children and their physical, spiritual, and mental health. They are getting stds, taking the abortion pill, and being traumatized when a baby is expelled instead of a clump of tissues, taking hormone pills because most of us are uncomfortable in our own skins at that age, and then regretting their decisions after irreversible damage is done. Sin has led to the mental health crisis we are experiencing, whereas sharing the truth in love prevents hurt at all levels. Christians need to get back to the 1 Corinthians 13 definition of love in its entirety.
I love how you shared this with such grace--acknowledging the struggle of the individual but advocating for the protection of our children. Thank you for bringing in stories of Jesus--remembering Him brings issues into better focus for me. Ministering to the one and standing for truth are both Christian priorities. Thank you. 🙏🏻
Diana, This is a perfect example why I follow your channel. Not shying away from the word, while leading the lost and broken to the love of Jesus Christ .💜✝️
Diana!!!! Thank you for this Godly view of this topic, it has made me realize that I was feeding into the spiritual warfare. Thank you for the prayer which I’ll be saying each time I pass our country’s flag 🇺🇸!!! I am grateful for you and your ministry✝️💜
Whenever I am confused about all that is happening in our world, I just ask myself, “What Would Jesus Do?” And then I try to not judge or let my own biases influence my thoughts. Jesus embraced everyone. And that’s the simple way I try to guide myself. Love, acceptance, and empathy speaks louder than anything else!!
Thank you Diana for this biblically grounded perspective to a very present conversation among many of our families. And thank you for the invitation to practically pray for our nation 🇺🇸
While I don't necessarily agree with your viewpoint, and the Christian church I attend welcomes and loves people of all different gender identities and orientations, I do thank you for the reminder that how we spend our dollars in association with our values is important. For me, it's supporting local businesses here in my town and goods that are made ethically in America. I also agree that for people who want to make change of any kind, working with/against corporations isn't always the best way to go, but connecting directly with people in our communities.
Jesus welcomed all without judgement. He did not pick and choose those who he found worthy. He demonstrated respect and kindness. When he did "call people out", it was to speak against the Pharisees who made made displays of religious superiority and issued judgements on others. I think many Christians today need a friendly reminder to look after the logs in our own eyes. You did a good job speaking with respect in this.
Unfortunately this is a different issue than welcoming all without judgment. This specific marketing is targeted at our children. Jesus did strongly call people out (Matthew 18:6) who cause our young people to stumble (and for good reason). Also, God created an instinct within mothers to protect their young (hence why you don't get too close to a bear cub) - and that is what is primarily fueling this. Kids absorb so much and don't need to be exposed to this message when we are walking through a store to pick up toilet paper and cereal. Hopefully Target and other companies are learning...don't mess with our "cubs".
Thank you, Diana. I was worried that I would feel shamed for my consumer decisions. This is why God gave you your gift. Because much of what I’ve been feeling I’ve kept to myself. I honestly didn’t know how to communicate my convictions and still appear compassionate. Now, I’ve got your video to help me. We will all stand before the Lord one day. I just want to hear, “Well done.”
I’m also focusing on more love. Loving the least of these. I don’t recall if that’s exactly how it is said. I left Christianity for many years. I’m dipping my toe back in. It’s uncomfortable because I truly deeply feel many things. I think the entire country is under an agenda… and it’s hiding under Christianity. However that’s way to broad for this. I appreciate the quality message you sent. I will continue to shop at Target… I will also continue to pray.
I am a big believer in showing people love and kindness. There is a big mental crisis in the United States and many people are struggling regardless of how they may identify themselves or what personal choices or views they have. Kindness and love and compassion is so powerful. I think that as Christians that may get lost along the way too often especially in the current political cultures that are just meant to pit people against each other even on things that there would be common ground over. I think that compassion and love is the most powerful tool we have been given. Hate is not going to be what brings people to Christ. But I think it will be what makes people turn away. Pour love and connection into these youth coming up now. They all need that so much. ❤ We all do.
This was exactly the word of God that I needed right now. If my heart is breaking how much more our Father's heart is breaking. As I put on the FULL armor of God, I pray FOR HIS wisdom and HIS strength. ❤
As an ally the LGBTQIA+ community, I agree we all need peace. I don't have answers but I do know at the same time families who are part of the community need to feel loved & accepted as well. The statistics on the LGBTQ+ community who have to deal with trauma & life ending depression, it is just sickening. I agree on your mission of love, compassion & care, Diana.
We as Christians can see what times we are in and where the world is headed. Thank you for the gentle reminder of the power of prayer. God is in control. We should continue to pray for each other and for salvation for others. But I can’t continue to shop at Target as I felt convicted from the Holy Spirit. We need to continue to spread the Gospel of Christ to others. That is what is the most important.
I’m actually not taking my kids into Target until this ends because I’m scared of them seeing grown adults insult and terrorize the people who work there. I don’t want them around people who think it’s acceptable to destroy property and use foul language at individuals who have no decision power when it comes to the merchandise carried and who are just trying to pay their bills. A person can voice their disagreements and choose to shop elsewhere. But justifying inappropriate actions by trying to say it’s to protect children when being violent in a place that is frequented by them makes no sense. No child feels safe around an angry, violent, yelling adult. There needs to be a better way. Be the example you wish to see. Every issue that involves people is multifaceted but everyone can benefit from love and compassion, regardless of religion, sexual orientation or gender identity.
there's been zero incidents of violence in the twin cities where Diana and Dawn and myself live, so it seems more about just cancel culture and a lifestyle you have an intolerance with
@@christine55416 That’s a good thing! Unfortunately for my city in the SW United States, that hasn’t been the case. There are now on-duty uniformed police officers (in addition to their own security/loss prevention staff) at Target stores in areas where they haven’t been present before, including very affluent ones. Individuals here in my town are filming themselves harassing employees and dismantling Pride displays, then posting to the internet. I hope wherever anyone does their shopping that they are safe, especially if they have children with them.
For a few year whenever in the car and I see the big flags flying on buildings, I thank God for this country and ask Him to heal our land, and the hearts and minds of His people. Thank you for being bold and addressing a subject that is in our face, knowing no matter how you respond, someone wont be happy.
@@LynnInSC ABSOLUTELY!!!!! SAME HERE...... THE BULLSHIT MUST STOP!!!! and love and kindness and all that jazz is great, HOWEVER, major corporations are pushing an agenda THAT HARMS CHILDREN and Jesus and I will not stand silently or idly by and agree with it!!!!!
Jesus indeed went to individuals but He NEVER EVER ONCE TOLERATED their sin!! He pointed out & lovingly dealt with their sin and called them to repent. Jesus also absolutely [violently] drove out the businesses even in the temple who were dishonoring God.
Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act. ~Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a German Lutheran pastor, theologian and anti- Nazi dissident.
Thank you so much for sharing this Diana. I honestly didn't know that there was a new campaign going on with Target. My husband and I, and our family believe that we need to meet people where they are and love them, not love them when they are where we think they should be.
Such a complicated topic, but you addressed it in a very balanced way. Thanks for emphasizing the need to focus on compassion and our common humanity. That's what truly matters at the end of the day, and it's so easily forgotten when everyone's so intent on choosing sides.
Diana, this was one of the most helpful talks I’ve heard on this subject. I love the prayer. Thank you for addressing this in such a compassionate way and grounded in the Word. My family has chosen the same and I have really started looking at our buying habits in the broader perspective of fair labor and fast fashion. It pushed me over the edge when things were targeted specifically to children.
This is the absolute BEST video you have posted yet, Diana. So incredibly grateful for your insight, thoughtfulness and honesty on this very complicated issue. Love you BIG! (And I'm sharing this with several people today!) 🧡
Diana, thank you so much for the loving & grace-filled way you approached this sensitive subject. 💝 I respect you so much for your courage to bring up this subject and reminding us to act in love & to pray. Salvation & showing God's love to people is what our country needs. You are so right! 💞
Thank you for this video. I love the prayer challenge. Our nation needs prayer now more than ever! What a great way to incorporate it into our daily lives. I’m going to add this to our homeschool Bible time so my daughter can learn the prayer and participate too! Your content is always so encouraging for me as a believer. Thank you!
Thank you, Diana, for your words of love and compassion and wisdom. ❤ This week, I too have made the decision to change my shopping habits-and I am also committed to do what I can to provide the next generation with a space to live in peace. Lord, Jesus, fill us with your Spirit of discernment and love, for Your Kingdom's sake and the good of all people.
It is so true that this is a spiritual battle, we are not fighting agains people or businesses. We need His guidance in all decision making. You addressed this topic so well, I see the wisdom of God in you Diana.
Thank you for tackling this, for not staying silent. For challenging us to lean into Holy Spirit on our response while also operating in the Love of Christ. The darkness cannot overcome the Light.
Thank you for your thoughtful, Bible-based approach, Diana❤ Lately the Holy Spirit has convicted me that I need to fill my mind with more things that are pure, lovely, true, praiseworthy, etc. (Phil. 4:8). Your channel and your sister’s channel fit the bill 😊 I really enjoy your content and I appreciate that you especially continually point us back to the Word of God. Thank you!!
We have displayed our nation's flag in front of our home for over 30 years and yet I don't always think to pray for our country. Thank you so much for this very timely message dear girl.
Thank you, Diana. Very well said and thought out. I appreciate your realness and tackling this hard topic. I live in the country, never shop at Target anyway, just my small town grocery, not ever an issue there.
Thank you so much for being so kind and loving and God honoring all at the same time. (As we should be!:) This was very enlightening and encouraging and very much needed for this time! Thank you again for sharing! God Bless your day!!!❤
I was very concerned when I began listening to this post. My concern was for you. I was wondering why you were addressing this subject where there is a no win position. I was wrong. You guided us through a very Biblical response to the cultural situations all around us in a loving responsive way. I know you must have prayed a long time about all this and the Holy Spirit guided you all the way. You are a strong and courageous young women living her faith right before our eyes. Be blessed, my sweet friend you nailed it.
Diana, first, THANK YOU SO MUCH for even being willing to SPEAK on this issue! RESPECT, as I'm disappointed in others whom God has given a platform have remained silent. Secondly, if they were just businesses, of "inclusion", wouldn't they allow Christian merchandise as well? ie "Jesus is the Way", ""He is Risen" etc? Of course not. That would be offensive. I do feel we have to be willing to be inconvenienced and uncomfortable and let them know we are NOT okay with it. Again, THANK YOU for addressing this.
What a wise perspective. Thank you for sharing. What a spiritual battle is happening in our world today! We NEED all Christian’s to join together in a spirit of Jesus. ♥️
Thank you for this word, Diana. My home church is studying that passage in Ephesians currently. Satan is using these issues you spoke of to sow division and strife in my family. It is so hard. Please pray for me as I try to stay focused on the Lord and His truth and the true battle instead of giving in to hurt and anger.
Thank you Diana for your chosen topic. I worry about the children of today - they are going to be so confused. I can't understand the push of all these gender issues and labeling. We need to just let kids be kids with their innocence. And yes I do understand that there are people who are born with different situations and I certainly don't condemn them - they are just people like everyone else - No prejudice from me. Your video was very to the point of what we need to do for our children's future.
I’ve seen Pride merchandise at almost every store I’ve been at including Walmart, Michael’s Joanns ect. If I don’t like it I don’t buy it. The anti cancel culture sure likes to cancel. I’m not thrilled with the stance Hobby Lobby and Chic File have on certain subjects but I still go there.
They always said it was about letting th live their lives. That they weren't coming for the kids . But that's is exactly what they are doing. And boldly with no apologies.
Thank you, Diana, for your balanced perspective. Almost every home in our neighborhood has a flag out. I will be praying that prayer several times a day! Bless you!
I am a big believer in boycotting. It started years ago when I came across a list of companies that donate to Planned Parenthood and decided I didn't want my money to contribute to that. Then after watching True Cost, my eyes were opened to the inhumane practices in fast fashion. I haven't shopped at Target in years, the jokes about spending $100 when you just went in for toothpaste, always rubbed me the wrong way. It's become an entire culture of celebrating irresponsible behavior. I grew up wearing mostly secondhand clothing and I feel that that is the most ethical option across the board. I try my best to buy as much used as possible in other areas as well.
I agree with this also. I grew up with a very simple and non materialistic childhood, and I believe I am better for it. It taught me the value of money and working hard for what I have.
Right!!! I love being able to shop for 80% of our clothing needs at a local thrift store that supports children’s ministries/assistance. Also shopping salvage grocery stores for soon to be expiring foods
And in my opinion, that's the only way anything good will come out of this kind of boycott. If people's concern for their own children can expand to wonder how their shopping habits are contributing to slavery and exploitation of other people's children, and the destruction of the world all our children are growing up in.
Diana, I agree, aggressive activism is never a good way to go! Just like prayer and praying in our war rooms (closets) opportunities will raise for us to share our testimony and convictions when others are in a place God has prepared them and in God's timing, Not ours! 🙏🏼❤️
I'm never eloquent with words, but if I could speak exactly how I feel about this subject, it would have been these exact words. Thank you so much for speaking out on it in such a caring and compassionate way.
I love this!! Thank you for not beating around the bush and bringing forward what we are all trying to figure concerning these businesses. Yes ma’am, it is Spiritual warfare and I believe shopping at these businesses after coming to the knowledge of what they stand for is accepting sin. They are intolerant of us as Christians and how is this ok? Jesus loves the little children and they are a blessing, we must protect them and their innocence. I will do my best to say the prayer every time I see our beautiful American flag 🇺🇸
I do not want to give my $ to companies who promote and encourage pushing this stuff on kids. It’s happening in our schools too. I can love individuals well without pretending their worldview = the Biblical worldview! And yes, our struggle is not of this world! I love your prayer 🙏 ❤
Coincidentally, we're transitioning to a different bank. Target was on my list of credit cards to contact with the new autopay info today. As I signed into my account, I suddenly felt that the better choice would be to cancel my RedCard. Also deleted the App from my phone. I've been standing on the sidelines for too long. Time to stand up for my beliefs. Running across your video tonight put the exclamation point on that decision.
This message had been the most powerful one to me, that you have recorded ever! I didn't now anything about what's going on but you gave such a great description and understanding of how we, as Christians can understand and pray for our Nation. Thanks so much!
Diana, I felt like the Holy Spirit was speaking through you today. I try to be understanding and kind to everyone, but I don't think I need to support businesses that bring politics that go against my beliefs into their companies. I am a Target retiree with a lifetime 10% discount, but I no longer shop there and cancelled my credit card. There are other businesses that I avoid and whenever possible I give my business to Christian companies. I pay more attention now to people running for office, especially school board and other local offices. I'll share you're beautiful prayer. God bless you and your family.❤
Prayer always helps, so I hope people will take seriously stopping and taking time to pray. I must add here there are no positive statements to be made about Walmart. After under selling every small business in the community, and forcing them out of business. Initially selling 5 brands of every product and now rarely more than 2 while promoting their brand Great Value. I don't associate them with anything more than a forced monopoly.
There are stores that sell Christian T-shirt’s with the stigmata on it and other very Christian sayings as “billboards” if anyone as a parent wants to put a shirt on their child that says Love Is Love then it’s their right and prerogative. What happened to the words like civility and tolerance. We all can tolerate and respect each other without being so divisive. Jesus loved all people and accepted all people. More Christians could look to Jesus as an example of how to accept and love all people. The next generation will be kinder and more accepting. We are a nation made up of many cultures and religions. It would be behoove us all to learn more about each other, to respect and tolerate our differences. Lead with kindness.
Diana, thank you for standing on the corner of Grace and Truth. Where they intersect is where I want to be. May we each look to His Holy Spirit to show us personally how to interact in our spheres of influence, how to love, how to "stand firm with the belt of truth buckled around our waist" and the shoes of peace on our feet. Thank you, Diana, your encouragement is helpful. God bless you, God bless us, as we grapple with the tough aspects of loving others and following Jesus.❤
One thing I have been thinking about is the warped sense of what love is that the world is telling us at this point. Love is not passively letting our children or people in our sphere of influence harm themselves. I love the prayer challenge and will definitely be sharing it.
Diana, thank you very much for your inspired post. I’m in NZ but this message is true for everyone no matter where we live. I totally agree, we have to be peacemakers and light bearers and be true disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. xoxo
I Love you Dawn, and I'm going to say even those we disagree with are image bearers of God and we are called to love and truth. As a Christ follower I'm called to be a peacemaker and pray for and love the lost. I don't understand the outright hatred within the church in our current time. Thank you for being strong enough to open the conversation on your channel.
Thank you, Diana! It breaks my heart that "They'll know we are Christians by our love" has morphed into "They'll know we are Christians by our intolerance and mistreatment." We need to get back to connecting to our core: Finding the joy of forgiveness and unity as an entire humanity created and saved by a God who loves his children! Corporations don't care about acceptance or causes, they care about the bottom dollar. They create division then sit back and see the publicity that results while so many are hurt. Where is our honest, simple, pure love?♥
yes, it's a business, all they care about is sales. I googled suicide by gay youth once and wondered how many of these sad and indescribable pain for the parents and loved ones were caused by hate disguised as love. These people are humanbeings with a part of them not like you, but they hurt, they love, they need support. I've read of parents heartbroken over their children bullied or physically hurt by people taught they are "devil" in disguise. I've read of parents disowning their children to the point, they burned their things. This is love? Now, you might say that is not me, I wouldn't do that, but do you stand up and say the ones who are doing it are wrong? When Matthew Sheperd was killed and tortured for being gay, where do you think those evil people learned he wasn't worth living from? That needs thought too.
I kept saying amen! while you were talking. I feel it's important to think about what our Lord would do and say. I love how you brought in the way Jesus spoke with the Samaratin woman. While I think it's important to vote with our dollars when possible, I thank you for remembering that not everyone has the wherewithal to shop other places. Great message!
There is alot to unpack regarding this issue. I try to base my mental framework on a very basic question, "what does the Bible say?" I believe that we are to showcase God's love at all times, but we are also held responsible for upholding what the scriptures tell us. In Genesis, we are told there are two genders, male and female. Period. We are also given guidelines about the traditional family unit that God himself designed. (Which is clearly under attack) So, while I appreciate that there are those that are struggling with gender issues, which is an attack from the devil, it doesnt change what the Bible has clearly told us. So, if we need to peacefully make stands like boycotting, or canceling subscriptions then we are permitted to do so. For a very long time Christians have been silent regarding controversial issues. It is not wrong for us to stand up for the teachings of the Bible! From another angle that is not a religious one.. the amount of spending that goes on in this country is outrageous. So, maybe a lesson that could be learned here is to just be more mindful of our hard earned dollars in general. Only buying what we need and not spending in Target and other stores on impulse buys.
Live and let live apathetic attitudes have allowed the devil to step in to manipulate and brainwash our young and vulnerable children. We need to stand for family and children and to promote what is right and just. I pray that people will wake up to God's truth in time and repent of their sins.
@@lynnhill7380 I 100% agree with you. Complacency is very dangerous. I still believe we can be peaceful and loving, but also stand firm for the Bible and for Jesus.
You do know there are people born with both genders, right? God has gifted us with His living Holy Spirit to teach us. It sounds like you have assigned meaning to the scripture to fit your prejudices rather than allowing the Spirit to assign the meaning.
@Kari You are correct that there are people born with both genders. A very small percentage. Even in those cases, they usually have a dominant gender as well as male or female chromosomes. I don't have any prejudices, just a working understanding of the book of Genesis.
To the LGBTQ+ community: I am ignorant. While I listen when given the opportunity, I cannot fully understand what it’s like to be in your shoes or what it’s like to read a bunch of ignorant comments by people who say they are “Christian.” I cannot speak for anyone or any group, and I especially cannot speak for God, but I do know Him, and I seek Him with my whole heart. I can I only speak for myself. This is my firm belief: Other people do not define you. God says you are beloved. I am best friends with a God who wants to be best friends with you too. Just because you are a “smaller percentage” doesn’t mean you were not created by God. This person’s “working understanding of Genesis” is clearly wrong. God made you in His image, and you are incredibly precious just the way you are. I celebrate you. After being spoken to for a very long time like there is something wrong with you, I get why some of you are at the point to “put it in people’s faces” or however they described what Target is doing. I don’t feel like my heterosexual marriage is under attack just because other people love each other. Sounds like the same people who’d say “my water fountain is under attack because black people want to drink here.” “What about our children?” they say. Are you kidding me, why wouldn’t we invite conversations with our children to teach them that not everyone is like us, and the differences in the world are not scary or dangerous, but beautiful. I believe we’ll get there. Maybe it will be the children who are able to see you and love you for who you are. To the horror of “Christian” parents, maybe we already do. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🎉
Diana - your words of wisdom are soooooooooo spot on- how I wish this video would go viral... I hope Christians will be more Christ-like because you are speaking such truth !
Diana, I really appreciate your calm discussion about the many perspectives about this divisive issue. In my opinion, the nature of being human is having different perspectives, and the Enemy uses this to capitalize on division. At the end of the day, I know in my heart my salvation is not based on where I choose to shop, but rather on whom I know gave His life for me. May God bless you!
Thank you for sharing. I think it’s important to reflect Christ and not opinions. Though I have many, I’ll keep them to myself where they can be changed, strengthened or die. Let the light of Christ show through me and everything else pass away. Thank you for loving us enough to share ways to make needed changes.
Thank you, Dianna, for giving such a loving and balanced approach to this topic! You summed up what’s been on my heart for our nation so well. ❤We need to love each other, first and foremost, being His light to those around us. That also includes doing what’s best and most loving for our children and families. God bless!
Thank you for your wise words and for such a powerful prayer to say to help our nation. I am a Target shopper and most likely will continue to shop there. I do not condemn those who have chosen to boycott Target, that is their right. It is also my right to shop where I feel I can get what I need.
So well said! Way to address it and not ignore it or be angry about those who might react differently. I so agree that we need to examine our reactions to those we come into contact with. Thank you for stepping up and saying something! I'll be sharing this. And I'll be praying.
Very well said. I also like the simple message of love. It's more inclusive. I'm not a fan of boycotting but when all else is equal I do consider business practices in deciding where to spend my money. Thanks Diana!!
I've taken my shopping elaewhere due to the change in bathrooms at Target. It's hard enough to enter the bathroom as an abuse survivor. It would throw me into a PTSD panic attack to see a man in there. God's given each of us spiritual gifts to use for ministering and expanding His kingdom. He uses prophets to boldly proclaim truth to change people's hearts.
There's a beautiful large flag on my way to and from work once a week. I love to see it flying, all hours of the day/night! This week there was zero wind, as I passed by in the evening. I was disappointed at first, but still God is on the throne, and I'm so proud to live in this country, and in the Bible belt where we can freely express our Faith 🙏 Thank You Pastor Diana 🇺🇲 God Bless You and yours 💕
Thank you for sharing this. I also encourage people to remember that just because someone is an employee of Target, they may not be a part if the corporate political agenda.
This is the best response I have seen thus far. I agree with you for the most part. Thank you for saying it in such a careful, thought-provoking way. I hope this goes viral and finds those who have not been as sensitive as you.
Thank you, Diana, for a beautiful message. There is so much division in our country now, and I think all Americans are seeing it. We should each ask God which businesses He would have us patronize, and we He will lead us if we ask. Praying for those who offend us, insult us, etc. is the very best thing we can do, as many people have no one praying for them. You are such an asset to your community, to the Internet and especially to your family--may God be with you and your loved ones as you continue to share such loving messages.
I just love your message of love and grace toward those who are walking out a different life than we are. As Christians that is what God calls us to do. And the reminder to pray for these people is so important. I just loved your message.
Thank you for this change for us, an easy step to pray for our nation . May it be a lasting habit that produces a change of heart in each of us… change begins with me by the power of the Holy Spirit!!!
The more I read and study the Bible, the more strange the American church (which I grew up in and am still part of) becomes to me. Perhaps I'll pray for the church when I pass the country's flag. I had to come back to the video 3 times to get through it. It's so heavy and disheartening right now to hear from my more conservative brothers and sisters. But I appreciate your heart of compassion and your desire to be obedient.
Beautifully and graciously spoken and how powerfully rooted in scripture. Thank you for having courage to share your wisdom and letting the Holy Spirit use you in more ways than you'll ever know!
I have a gay friend who told me "why would i CHOOSE to be gay when it makes life more difficult?" You either are gay or you are not. So isnt it cruel and ungodly to make things so much harder for gay trans and other people? They really are not recruiting. But someones child might need to know why they feel different, or even just why a friebd has parents who are tge same gender. But i am happy that you are advising against violence. It is a pretty low bar.
amen, I have grown up since teens with gay students, friends, coworkers, no one asks for the hate. Some have been together longer than my friends, decades, but even if I don't agree on most things, I can't hate them for wanting simple things like equal treatment by law and to be treated with respect as human beings and loving people. I read of suicides of teens who were bullied and told of hell and hated, whose blood is on those deaths? Is it just the depressed and sad teen who couldn't see any light with all the "love" or the ones who were cruel?
I have thought the same thing. While the lifestyle is not for me personally. Doesn’t mean it’s not right for someone else. I can’t imagine how hard it must be to not feeling at home in your own body. And having people spew such hatred towards someone for being themself. It’s a shame really that people can’t let others live their lives and they live their own.
which is why it's so important to have pride representation in stores and mainstream representation, and not to have shame and bible bangers boycotting and acting like Jim Crow of the old south. Stores are not founded on the bible, and all these people who are following diana's eloquent direction to boycott target will probably be back there shopping on the app and getting groceries in a few months, if not a few weeks🙄
This is such an important point. I like to ask straight people, "When did you decide to be straight?" They're usually flustered or confused. Because, of course, straight people usually just KNOW they're straight because they're attracted to partners of the opposite sex. Well, some of us aren't. Some of us are born queer, or at least not straight. Beat your bible and kill all the gays you want, and you won't change the fact that sexual orientation is not a choice. Might as well just condemn to hell everyone who has blue eyes, because that would make just as much sense as damning gays to hell.
On your recommendation, “I implore you to read the Bible Recap,” I am in my second year doing so. Recently we read Proverbs 21:2 “All a man’s ways seem right to him, but the LORD weighs the heart.” When I read that verse it was a reminder to me to give grace to people who come to different solutions and have different perspectives on issues. Thank you for sharing different ways of thinking about this sensitive issue.
You’re right, this is a sensitive subject! I think it is important for all of us to remember that we are all sinners, and without the shed blood of Jesus, we all deserve the death penalty. Our salvation is a gift, not something we earned by being righteous. I’m reminded of the woman who was brought before Jesus for being an adulteress. The crowd wanted to stone her for her sin. Jesus said “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” (John 8:7, NIV) Somehow, we’ve gotten the notion that some people’s sins are worse than our own, and we have the right, or even the responsibility to throw stones. Jesus commanded us to love. Oh, it’s easy to love people just like us. But we’re also commanded to love our neighbors, and even our enemies! Christians don’t have the luxury of hating anyone! If we want people to experience the love and salvation of Jesus, we need to drop our stones and stop scaring them! No, that doesn’t mean we have to go around wearing Pride shirts, or even patronizing stores that sell them. However, we do need to be mindful of the messages we are sending, whether on our shirts, or in our actions. It all boils down to love.
Amen!
@@conlyn7584 you said exactly what I have been thinking and couldn’t put into words!!!
I love how you shared this with such grace--acknowledging the struggle of the individual but advocating for the protection of our children. Thank you for bringing in stories of Jesus--remembering Him brings issues into better focus for me. Ministering to the one and standing for truth are both Christian priorities. Thank you. 🙏🏻
What exactly are you protecting our children from?
Perfectly said with grace, truth, and love! Thank you for putting into words what is hard to express sometimes. Standing with you!
Thank you Diana for this biblically grounded perspective to a very present conversation among many of our families. And thank you for the invitation to practically pray for our nation 🇺🇸
Thank you for your godly wisdom and boldness while being gentle, loving, and kind. Truly appreciate you.
Exactly!
Jesus welcomed all and all who encountered Him were changed forever. I pray Christians everywhere will walk in this example.
Diana, I personally totally agree with you. What this world needs now is more love and prayer.
You were made for such a time as this. Beautifully done Diana. Sharing. God Bless our nation with peace, Godly leadership and salvation. Love this!!❤
I am a big believer in showing people love and kindness.
I don't think any of us would condone yelling or any kind of violence. But we can speak through where we spend our money.
@@cherylwebb8340 Exactly!
there's been zero incidents of violence in the twin cities where Diana and Dawn and myself live, so it seems more about just cancel culture and a lifestyle you have an intolerance with
@@christine55416 That’s a good thing!
This is a thoughtful, kind, and Christian message. Well done. So needed and very timely.
For a few year whenever in the car and I see the big flags flying on buildings, I thank God for this country and ask Him to heal our land, and the hearts and minds of His people. Thank you for being bold and addressing a subject that is in our face, knowing no matter how you respond, someone wont be happy.
🇺🇸 I bless our nation with peace, Godly leadership, and salvation. Amen.
Thanks Diana
Christian’s can do both. I can boycott and lean in to individuals as well. 🇺🇸
And so can I
Me too! I deleted the Target app from my phone and iPad, and I cut up my Target credit card! 🇺🇸 🙏🏼
Me too and also hold up these businesses in prayer.
Jesus indeed went to individuals but He NEVER EVER ONCE TOLERATED their sin!! He pointed out & lovingly dealt with their sin and called them to repent. Jesus also absolutely [violently] drove out the businesses even in the temple who were dishonoring God.

Thank you so much for sharing this Diana. I honestly didn't know that there was a new campaign going on with Target. My husband and I, and our family believe that we need to meet people where they are and love them, not love them when they are where we think they should be.
I agree
Diana, thank you for turning to the Holy Spirit to guide you through this difficult conversation. You spoke with grace and love. Bless you.
This is the absolute BEST video you have posted yet, Diana. So incredibly grateful for your insight, thoughtfulness and honesty on this very complicated issue.
Love you BIG! (And I'm sharing this with several people today!) 🧡
Well said. Thank you. We need to pray for our counties(I’m Canadian) . This is truly a spiritual battle. Great prayer habit idea ❤
I believe that God loves us all, no matter who we are. There is no version of God who doesn’t love us!
Diana, thank you so much for the loving & grace-filled way you approached this sensitive subject. 💝 I respect you so much for your courage to bring up this subject and reminding us to act in love & to pray. Salvation & showing God's love to people is what our country needs. You are so right! 💞
Thank you, Diana, for taking a complex situation, and refocusing us on what’s important.❤
This week, I too have made the decision to change my shopping habits-and I am also committed to do what I can to provide the next generation with a space to live in peace. Lord, Jesus, fill us with your Spirit of discernment and love, for Your Kingdom's sake and the good of all people.
Thank you for addressing a subject that most "influencers" avoid.
Amen
Thank you!!
Thanks for your input on this hard situation. Balancing grace and truth is often hard. I think you nailed it.
100% agree
True!
Thank you! I've noticed the same and have the same attitude about Hobby Lobby/ChickFillet.
exactly
Excellent advice,
that Christian’s do not need to take on big business… I love it. however I will boycott any company that targets children.
Although i don't boycott, i relate with your thoughts regarding the jokes rubbing you the wrong way.
So true. The memes about only stopping to pick up toothpaste and spending $100 always rubbed me the wrong way as well.
Thank you! I am trying to be more intentional in my buying now, too.
This message had been the most powerful one to me, that you have recorded ever! I didn't now anything about what's going on but you gave such a great description and understanding of how we, as Christians can understand and pray for our Nation. Thanks so much!
So beautifully articulated. I appreciate the conscious and intentional clarity from a Christian perspective.
Thank you for your gentle reminder to stand strong but act in love! Also for the prayer for our nation.
I've been thinking about the warped sense of christianity and love.... disappointing
Diana
We don’t hate the sinner. We hate the sin and the demonic spirit behind it.
@@singerjo5791 what sin?
God Bless You, Diana 🙏 ❤️ Family 👪
Good Morning 😊 I believe Jesus is So Pleased with You for doing this!😊
I kept saying amen! while you were talking.
To the LGBTQ+ community:
I am ignorant.
Come Holy Spirit! Fill the hearts of your people with love and gentleness!
Thank you for sharing. I think it’s important to reflect Christ and not opinions. Though I have many, I’ll keep them to myself where they can be changed, strengthened or die. Let the light of Christ show through me and everything else pass away. Thank you for loving us enough to share ways to make needed changes.
Perfect timely message in light of what’s happening around us. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

This week there was zero wind, as I passed by in the evening. I was disappointed at first, but still God is on the throne, and I'm so proud to live in this country, and in the Bible belt where we can freely express our Faith 🙏
Thank You Pastor Diana 🇺🇲
God Bless You and yours 💕
Thank you for sharing this. I also encourage people to remember that just because someone is an employee of Target, they may not be a part if the corporate political agenda.
This is the best response I have seen thus far. I agree with you for the most part. Thank you for saying it in such a careful, thought-provoking way. I hope this goes viral and finds those who have not been as sensitive as you.
Thank you for succinctly putting my heart into words! Blessings!
May you be happy.
May you be well.
May you be peaceful.
May you be loved.
This is the best I've heard on someone speaking. We need to share Jesus with Love to these lost kids . Thank you for addressing this .
Thank you for your calmness, wisdom, and courage ❤
It definitely is different. We are no longer shopping at Target.
this is actually one of the most nuanced takes I’ve seen on this debate. Really well said!
Diana! Perfect! I downloaded and will print a copy for my Friday coffee group! Thank you for giving something we all can do!💕🇺🇸💕
Beautifully and graciously spoken and how powerfully rooted in scripture.
@@SarahCbyneedleandthread causes suicide sadly too. Then told they must be chaste their entire life, never love anyone but from afar. Very sad.
which is why it's so important to have pride representation in stores and mainstream representation, and not to have shame and bible bangers boycotting and acting like Jim Crow of the old south.

Thank you, Diana. I pray your words bring prayers rather than curses to our thoughts and tongues.
