- Hey what's up RUclips in this episode I test drive the Cutlass 442 for the first time and do a couple of walk around shots of the car. I'll be doing more of these test drives and when i get it running right and broke in maybe a burnout or two, let me know what you guys think about this video in the comment box and give me a thumbs up if you like it if your new to the channel subscribe for more thanks.
Nice love to see the old muscle cars being restored and driven. Personally I would have went with 3.55 ratio as Olds used that gear set in many of their cars. What power plant are you running? 400 or 455? Are you using a modern auto with over drive or a TH400?
Thanks my Cutlass came factory with a 12 bolt O-type rear diff which is completely different than a 12 bolt Chevy you can only choose between a 3:42 posi or a 3:90 posi ring and pinion I was wanting to run a 3:55 but soon I realized what I had and found out how different these diffs are compared to the Chevy diff. Olds may have used the 3:55 but it was probably in the 10 bolt configuration. My Cutlass came factory with a 350 and a th400 it is merely a 442 clone.
Olds never offered a 3.55 gear ratio in those cars. 3.42 would be close.
Cutlass...442 which is it? Nice ride but you must make up your mind...LOL 69 vert 442 owner
I had one of these in the early 80’s. Lord how I miss that car! IN my opinion one of sexiest muscle cars ever. Mine was Champagne Gold
Okay you convinced me to subscribe to a Olds site, a life long Pontiac purist like me!
Been looking at a 69 cutlass 4 door. I'm 6'5. You think I'd have leg room ?
Ya you should be fine.
The cutlass is my dream car
clicked on this to hear a cool engine heard bad music instead.
Nice work bro! What kind of wheels are those and what size??
Thanks, the wheels are American Racing Torque Thrust VN309 the fronts are 15x5 and the rears are 15x8.5
That's one badass ride right there ,
Don't know what motors in it but a little mondello 455 magic under the bonnet would be nice ,also fatter tyres on the back and lower that bad dog in the rear , to me toughest muscle car of all time !!
where did you purchase the headlights from?
Found them on eBay
I think the wheel well chrome would look better in the car especially with the deep black
back up lights didn't work.
👍🤩💟awsome ride
Should put a hot cam in it!
really sharp
Nice car. Ugly steering wheel.
Is that an automatic?
Yes it was
