I has to get this done to a '69 convertible Cutlass s in about 2017. There was no way to get a rear quarter for a convertible. Took them a year, but they did a great job. It cost me $7600. They ended up having to fix the whole inside of the hump, and some of the trunk. Now I just have 5 more bondo bucket panels to fix. There is a vid on my page of the after on that quarter.
Nice to see the good old stuff being taken care of. I am not a builder myself, can one readily buy reproduction quarters, fenders and doors for certain cars?
Myself I would clean up evey speck of rust wire wheel and die grinder then once all cleaned put Epoxy primer on it the do the body work over the epoxy primer. It will stop the rust and you can do body work over it. I've always wondered why people try to do bodywork going at it blind if it is a real W-30 it is a rare unit I done quite a few restoration's.. epoxy primer is the best for restoring just make sure the metal is clean and no rust anywhere ... Couple good coats the where body work is needed just sand with 80 grit for bondo and if a patch just grind for the weld only...
Dealing with the same exact passenger side damage as you are on my 69 Cutlass. Glad to have stumbled across you build.
my favorite color Saffron 👍👍
