    OK, I really think this is a good thing but something needs to be clarified. I AM NOT AN IMMIGRANT! My family has been here for generations, but yes my ancestors were immigrants. Which is why it would be hypocritical of me to say they shouldn't be able to do the same.

    • @killercroc9138
      @killercroc9138 8 лет назад +6

      Exactly! I wish people were more level headed like yourself. Instead they're all ignorant and ignore the fact that they themselves are the product of legal and illegal immigration.

      America isn't the land. It's the people and their vertues. If europeans hadn't got here, there would be no America on this land. It would just be a continent inhabited by tribes. But what made america what it is today, is the system that they creative which was ideal for properity. If Americans would have to leave, they should also take the system and everything they built along with them.

      You need to be documented because documents provide details about who you are and your history. If you are already living in the country then the goverment knows who you are through different mean. But if you are an outsider, same can't be said. So, that's why you need to be documented. You need to have documents to tell your history.

    Americans love immigrants. We are all immigrants. Americans do not want people who wave the Mexican flag. or who refuse to speak English, or huddle in their own groups refusing to assimilate. American citizenship is unlike citizenship anywhere else, but to be an American, you MUST put this country before all others. You must love the people, you must speak the language, you must assimilate. Work to better your family and speak English.

Wait until they call you for Biometric than you wait for you test appointment(if all goes well) if you pass the test your last appointment is the Oath ceremony. Not a difficult process. No attorney needed unless you don't speak fluent English. They want you to pass trust me.

      Considering the US is the third most populated country in the world, I don't think immigrants are something we need more of. We're not trying to be in competition with China or India. A county need mass immigration when the country is not populated this is not the case with the US.

    Hard to believe story unless these three steps took due course:
    1. If she crossed illegally being thus undocumented, citizenship would never had been granted
    2. She had to legalize her status to "green card" holder to become legal
    3. Then she would be elligible for citizenship.
    Title of video is therefore misleading since it is an impossibility to become a citizen from being "undocumented".
    Thumbs down for the misleading title

    • @standoughope
      @standoughope 2 года назад

      She did technically go from an undocumented migrant to a citizen though. I don't see how that's dishonest because it didn't mention all of the in between hoops she had to go through.
      Look at Michael Jordan. He went from getting cut from his high school team to being arguably the greatest NBA player of all time. Is it misleading that I didn't mention UNC? Would someone actually believe that Jordan was drafted to the NBA right after being cut from his team? Doubtful.

      With the current immigration system yes, it is very difficult, to the point that I was an international bacherlor student with A grades and had no way to even becoming a resident, unless i married someone. Fortunately I found a company that values me and they are helping me get a green card. But because of the current law, I had to leave the country, and work remotely for a year. The process is still going and the chances of US Immigration rejecting and declining my petition is still pretty high. Being undocumented in USA has no direct path of becoming a US Citizen, unless having children and they asking for you (which takes 5 to 10 years to process), or if your US children will be on risk by deporting you, or of course if you marry a US citizen or resident.

    I’m happy for you but to say that “we are all immigrants” is disrespectful to me and my ancestors. I am Indigenous/Native/ First Nation to this land so to say “no one is from here” makes me sick to my stomach. Educate yourself and do better.

      I agree but in addition, Africans were not immigrants, being they were brought to America by force.

    I am happy for the woman in the video; however that does not negate what her family did was wrong and illegal.
    There are proper channels to immigrate to the USA, which tens of thousands of individuals do every year in order to enter the USA legally and work hard to become US citizens. It should not be encouraged for others to cut in line because that is unfair to those that have come here legally and it cheapens US citizenship. Also, the USA like any sovereign country has the right to limit the number of those coming into the country in order to maintain balance in its budget, infrastructure, and quality of life for its current citizens, etc. When this is not done it leads to major issues that we have in this country with uncontrolled illegal immigration that leads to more poverty, infrastructure issues, funding health care and straining economic resources. YOU KNOW THE STUFF AJ+ criticizes the USA for constantly.
    I understand AJ+ is trying to provide a humanistic voice to illegal immigrants (stop saying UNDOCUMENTED! That is false!), but this kind of act should not be encouraged. It would be just as wrong if Americans attempted to illegally immigrate to another prosperous country for economic reasons, straining resources in that country and attempting to get citizenship. We would be kicked out, as we should. This bleeding heart propaganda you’re spreading is wrong.

      Yeah what she did first was illegal then she did everything else legally like paying taxes not breaking the law without getting any of the benefits and everything else so it quit looking for any reason to hate someone

      +jimmy murillo What you stated is not a justification, and I am not hating on her.
      However the hypocrisy if Americans attempted to do the same thing by illegally migrating to another country for economic prosperity, using up resources (i.e. housing, free public schools, jobs, health care, etc) would be met with strong opposition of that host country - whether it is a European country, mexico, Guatemala and would be kicked out in three seconds, as we should.
      Please look up how South American countries treat those that enter their country illegally before criticizing the USA. I'm sure AJ+ will never do a video on that however.

      ***** How is that the USA's problem? These people should instead be rioting and demanding their own country's government to end the violence and corruption instead of trekking it to America. It does not help America by having loads come here, straining financial resources in terms of housing, legal needs, health care, schooling, pressure on infrastructure and so many others that it impacts the quality of life for citizens that are already struggling as is. The USA cannot help everyone and at the same time maintain the standard of living that many Americans worked hard off at the own expense.
      Also, the worker's visa on the immigration system is fine on the limited amount given to foreigners. I'm not sure if you're aware but jobs in the USA are not exactly plentiful, and US citizens should come first.
      I can't believe this is so hard for so many people to grasp.

      TM56 US citizens do attempt to illegally immigrate to other countries. You know there is an increase of US citizen retirees illegally moving and staying in Mexico? They enjoy universal healthcare, better weather, and the ability for their social security checks to last longer then they would in the US. I don’t call them illegal and don’t characterize them as evil.
      “One 2015 study from Mexico's National Institute of Statistics and Geography reveals that a stunning 91.2 percent of Americans in the country don't have their papers in order”
