Yeah, rumors are gonna be in full swing now that we know it exists.
And this is not rumours. It's data from shipping. Famiboards (Nintendo fans forum) tracking this shipping data many months already
True
But a microphone would be great for DS emulation, you have to admit.
Its public manufacturing information, they bought the parts.
When didn’t we know it exists.
I know this is only a rumor but 12GB of RAM seems like the amount Nintendo would choose. They know 8gb will quickly date the console and it will make it easier for developers to port games too the next gen switch, but they also don't want 16GB of RAM because they don't want to spend more than they have to.
Is 12 that much cheaper though then 16 ? I Love my Nintendo consoles anyway
@@juliuscasar720216GB exists in the PS5 & XSX, which would be brutal to cram into this "Switch 2", without major cost cutting measures, if Nintendo were attempting to release the system at roughly $400.
Deadass you could make the argument that a 16GB RAM handheld could be priced evenly or higher than the other current gen consoles.
12GB may land the system with $400 - $450 range, whilst keeping the hardware relevant & not out-dated, till maybe the latter end of the next generation, when we're looking into the PS7 & if Xbox consoles are still a thing.
It's perhaps why we've reverted back to the LCD screens, cause of cost cutting measures, whilst also planning ahead for the expected OLED revision of this "Switch 2", which would add in these upgrades, without boosting hardware performance & getting away with a slight increase in the price tag.
It's not really a rumor. Nintendo bought the parts and it's public manufacturing information.
If they keep the OS overhead as low as it is on the Switch, 12GB will pretty much match the useable ram on a PS5, which has 16GB but the OS is massively bloated
@@lethallohn Got to wait until the announcement to know for sure, though.
I love this phase of upcoming Nintendo console launch where it's officially announced but we don't know a whole lot about it so we latch to every detail that we can get and speculate and hype.
YESSS SAME HERE AHH X3 It's so exciting!
I really, really hope I'll be able to afford it ;w; I dunno how much it'll be!
@@jellycore1316 my prediction is $/€350
Bro the moment they announced it, the moment I’ll preorder it RIGHT AWAY!
I’m buying this system the moment it’s available for pre order, then when I go in-store to pick it up, I will time everything just perfectly so the “Key item found” SFX from BotW plays on my phone as I get it in my hands
@@TheDiamondCore Set a timer with the jingle as the alarm, then stare at the console while counting down in your head and then grab it
sounds kinda epic ngl 😂
@@CJBoxyeet Yep, that’s exactly what I’m gonna do
If I remember right, someone hardmodded their switch to have more ram. And not only did it run games better, it allowed to the switch to be capable of running 4K. So the increase in RAM would be exceptional.
So would Switch 1 games automatically run better on the Switch 2?
@@lutherholayeahme7449theoretically, yes.
@@lutherholayeahme7449if it has the function to unlock the frame rate of games probably.
ram always improve the igpu performance, especially if Switch´s ram was single channel

See, I can do what ifs too.
Here hoping we get a more creative home menu with music back again.
the new switch needs themes, many many said that the screen just being white or gray was not a good idea, oh and here is to hoping the Eshop has music
Themes and music are a thing of the past.
Sony and Xbox dont have it.
Because they all prefer performance over aesthetic. Themes and BGM eats alot on the OS performance. Thats the reason why the 3DS boots longer.
I dont see them taking it back anytime soon.
Even the other consoles have forsaken this feature for this same reason.
@@inamorta47-playertwist Xbox has a ton of themes bro
Just have a toggle: people who want quick, clean menus have “performance” mode, and those (like me) who want more personality and memorability have “style” mode.
The next mainline Mario, Zelda, Splatoon etc. are gonna look CRAZY good with these specs (plus 4K!)
If Sony could do the last of us part 2 on base ps4, imagine whats Nintendo Will do in a more powerfull system.
Unoptimized bulk Sony vs Optimized Lean Nintendo.
@@Yarott75 Sony's games tend to be well optimized. TLOU on PC was an exception
Combine that with an Nvidia GPU that will support RT and it should look great
4K isn’t happening lol
Honestly I’d rather have speakers over a mic for the Switch. I miss those sounds coming out of it since the Wii days, and the PS5’s the only thing that let me relive this small bursts of joy.
I always loved those crusty sound effects you’d hear when you select a character in Brawl
Wouldnt work in handheld mode. It would be super weird if both the handheld itself and joycons had speakers with sound coming from them at the same time when theyre right next to each other. Also you partially have that in hd rumble. If you play mario wonder and walk on the note blocks you can actually hear each of the note sounds in the actual rumble.

@@blue-cloud-studios I meant resurface as in there are going to be a wave of “leaks” announced now that it’s been confirmed.
@@ultragameboyx7906 ah gotcha, the next few months are going to wild
This is all publicly available information about parts that Nintendo bought, so it’s not just them making things up.
Microphone means ds games are coming. I remember having to blow into the microphone while playing Spirit tracks.😂
I also remember that for the Wii U. I remember the levels in 3d World where you had to blow into the microphone for some platforms to move.
YES we need DS games
DS being a part of Wii U virtual console was cool and all, but the games looked terrible and you can't even buy them now anyway. Let me play Super Mario 64 DS and New Super Mario Bros in HD on my TV damn it
Pretty sure having a second screen is more important for those than the microphone lol
@@Life_and_Gaming They could easily just allow you to customize the screen layout, like on Wii U VC
Like Jade Cargill, the Nintendo Switch successor is turning into one sexy BEAST!
Cargill is not sexy lol. Muscles on a women is gross.
Heck Yeah NX times are back.
If it has a mic, then maybe they’ll be porting a few DS or adding the DS to the NSO service
The real question is how long will that battery last?
The controllers have a few small needles that you jam into your hands, and it is powered by your blood and life energy. So the younger you are, the longer it will last.
Probably the same as the V1 Switch for most Switch 2 games and maybe 6 hours for Switch 1 games.
@@lol-ih1tl Switch 1 only last for like 2 hours of playtime in handheld mode for me lol.
@@ItApproaches Even if Switch 2 has a similar battery life for Switch 2 games, the battery life would be longer when playing Switch 1 games due to Switch 1 games needing less power.
I still can't believe it's actually happening
I think the switch 2 should contain popular wii u features that the original switch locks such as a microphone, and maybe a second screen. I think that second screen would be important if it is to utilize games that are meant to be used with dual screens especially. Maybe it is something that can fold in and out of the main unit or even detach
UFS 3.1 offers write speeds up to 1800 MB/s and read speeds up to 2100 MB/s... potentially loading the entire 18.2 gb of TOTK in 9 seconds.
That depends on the external storage. The fastest they could go for is microSD Express, which tops out at a sequential read speed of 985 MB/s. Still more than enough for nearly all applications, considering that even for the PS5, devs only requested 1 GB/s sequential read speed for the SSD.
Ok THIS is more like it! Now this gets me excited!
This is the info I wanted. Specs.
They need some cameras on the switch
Microphone = nintendogs?
yesssssss ive been waiting for a new one since the last one which was all the way back when the 3ds era started 😭
@@silver4302 Does that mean that Chatot can use recorded voices for Chatter's confusion effect?! That feature was removed after B2W2.
While the specs seem really good for now something to keep in mind is the games themselves. We are talking about an almost 10 year difference from the last gen which already had bad compression disc formats leading to games taking up more storage. BotW took up almost all of the switch’s memory on release and it’s a 7 year old game, so what will happen when the new console releases ? An estimate of 10 to 20gb per downloaded game should be taken into consideration, hell, it should be bigger considering the “next gen” graphics that are going to be implemented. All I’m saying is that we should wait for more info or until the official reveal happens
As they try to port over games from every previous Nintendo console, it makes sense that they'd include more old system features. Doesn't cost much to include a microphone, and they probably regretted dropping it when they wanted to bring over Mario 3D World and Captain Toad.
Hopefully it has a camera feature that lets you take pictures just like the DS and 3DS
You have camera on your phone. Why would you need it on a console? It would only make it more expensive for zero perfomance gain (and people cry about nintendo systems being underpowered yet they want these extra features that only drive up cost for no perfomance benefit). And the camera would probably be crap anyway(worse than on any average phone).
Lieber StreetPass statt ne Kamera
Considering its very likely it will be using a similar interface...I only hope there's a crossover that lets you carry over the digital games you purchased from the eshop....I hope
Mario Party is gonna bring back Choicest Voice, huh? Oh wait they can port Hey You Pikachu and Odama!
micro phone built in joycons I suspect singing and dancing games and karoake will be a big hit this system.
I wonder if it will have a camera.
Hopefully we can get native ports of Kingdom Hearts, Red Dead 2, and GTA 5. What other games do you want on Switch 2?
Ok so, basically one x/4 pro specs. I'm perfectly ok with something in that range, so long as it does get decent third party support too.
yeah, it seems to be in the range of ps4 and ps4 pro. Which I'm totally ok since it will be portable, not even steam deck is this powerful
Decent wut? Please why are you settling for less
@@lAlwaysHopelNot settling for less, but, as long as it has enough. Most people buy Nintendo for first party titles anyways.
@@SkitterBiscuit and that’s the mindset why they’re always behind.
@@lAlwaysHopel To be honest this time, I don't think that they'll lag TOO far behind in power. If Nintendo had every third party game plus a solid first party lineup, why own PS or Xbox anymore? Most of their libraries hit steam or egs at some point anyways.
I’ll wait for the upgraded version that they’ll drop a few years later, might come thru OLED Style like how they did with Switch
MT/s stands for Mega Transfers per Second if i recall correctly
also, now we can add The Nintendo Switch Successor to the ever growing list of things that have more RAM than the current Apple lineup
If the microphones will return, Chatot's voice recording feature for the move Chatter will also be back.
Nintendo cooked so well the Switch 2
Wii U And 3DS: Lucky 😤😠
Sorry but I have to see definitive proof of 12GB before I believe it from Nintendo, the lover of weak hardware.
cooking for some reason is now an overused word
We’ll see if they did later
Yup. 8 years mobile technologies gap from Tegra X1 2015. It's massive. And this Tegra T239 heavy customization specifically for Switch 2
If it has a built in mic, it means they can fix that blowing level from 3D World and return it to how it used to be on WIii U
The only thing that matters is if this will run the current switch games too...
I'm pretty sure it was already stated to be retro compatible
I definitely won't say it's the "only" thing that matters, but it's certainly a HUGE priority. Along with running games at better than 20 fps and 720p in 2025. 👍
It will be backwards compatible.
Considering how Furukawa said "The switch 2 is another model of the current switch" is pretty much a confirmation of backwards compat.
We need local back ups available
If we get a microphone, that would not only be GREAT for getting a native voice chat, but it could lead into maybe getting DS games on NSO, and, perhaps even the “forbidden” N64 game: Hey You, Pikachu!
Hey, with a built-in microphone to blow into, they could properly port DS and maybe even 3DS games to the Switch successor.
I hope legends ZA is a luanch title with a limited edition version of the console for it.
Already holding off on TOTK so I can play it in at least 60fps. 120fps would be a dream, but hoping for it.
human eyes can’t even see 120fps. most people can’t tell the difference between 60 and 120. it’s just something PC sweats obsess over as over performance is very important to them
@@cwega2463 I’ve played games on 120 and going back to 60 is difficult. Not sure where you’re getting this from, 120 is absolutely different. But 60 fps lock for more intense titles would be great for Nintendo.
I'm genuinely gonna cry if we get 12GB of RAM.
I remember when the 8GB RAM rumour appeared & holf fuck I was scared at the possible prospects of the machine, but 12GB will ensure this machine stays relevant till perhaps 2030, even without any updated hardware models.
By relevancy, I mean by how outdated is the hardware, compared to industry standards rn & my god even if next gen includes 20GB or even 18GB on consoles, this handheld may still hold its own for a while.
Truly, I've got faith in this machine, IF the rumour is true.
I think the mic means more DS/3DS ports/ remakes are coming to the next Switch
Quite the significant improvement over Nintendo Switch. I am ready!

@@1JAM229 no need. We'll just buy all those Switch 1 remasters instead
Nintendo: "here's some Switch successor confirmation. Now stop with the basess rumors."
Fans: "so keep doing it?"
Nintendo: "goddamn it."
To be honest, built-in SSD storage in a console that needs to be affordable will never be good enough (in terms of size, that is). As it gets cheaper with time, games also get bigger with time, offsetting that improved _cost per storage unit._ So I think they should just give up on that, keep the storage at a basic 32GB to keep the console as cheap as possible and let the people who want to be digital add the SD expansion that suits their needs.
Fast drive and fast added sd cards do the job
Joey, also acording to the Samsung leak a few weeks back, the Switch 2 may use a new generation of SD Cards which are being developed by Samsung which are ultra fast
10 times faster to be exact.
@@lol-ih1tl Thank you!! 👍
Why not using more faster UFS card ??
Be cool if we can live stream from it
A mic would be great for switch 2! 🙂
Please 1080p

Gonna keep getting more and more of these rumours now we know it’s on the way
2:36 wait so how much faster is it than switch 1? 2x, 3x?
At least 2x even without these rumors. These rumors put it around 2.5x range. 3x would be a dream though.
Rumors/Leaks may be rumors/leaks, but 1 thing we can be certain of is Nintendo will create a more powerful console from the last while trying to keep it affordable.
Given that most high-end phones give 8GB of ram, that 12GB of ram will mean that most phones can't emulate Switch II games. Also, the Switch II is more powerful than a smartphone.
2:12 I mean.. 512GB and 1TB of flash storage would be… quite expensive. MicroSD expansion is way cheaper than more SSD storage.
Emmc like on current switch will quite affordable but much slower than UFS storages
If these specs are true then we're eating good tonight bois :D
Nintendo’s new flagship games are gonna look AMAZING on the new switch if this is true. Imagine the worlds they could create with Mario and Zelda and how fleshed out they could be.
If there's a microphone, I'm hoping this will allow Nintendo DS games
imagine the switch having a DS slot where we can put the physical games in? i have plenty of DS games and that would be a good feature ngl, but its just a dream. Nintendo won't do that
@@mikoswhackgameandstuffvids480 I was more thinking like DS online or downloadable games like they've done for stuff like Pikmin.
I think that the microphone is something everybody forgets when they say they want DS games on the switch.
The RAM on the original switch was the biggest bottleneck. 4gb of quite slow memory really hurt the switch in games like BOTW and TOTK. Going to dual channel and fast memory should be great for many games as it should benefit from this. That storage increase is very nice. It really should support HDR too
I don t have time to compile the details...yeah, sure. Time is the issue.
Will Switch 2 have reliable motion controls?
Geezus! Just reveal the damn thing already. 🙄
The only thing I actually want is an OLED screen and that’s the one thing we probably won’t get… going back to LCD will be such a downgrade
Well they’ll prolly drop it later… like how they did upgraded versions of consoles in the past… like that OG switch and 3ds for example (idk about the older ones) but I’ve seen a pattern with them… the original model first & then the better model later 🧐
@@XenoXerosiX_SpX why not selling both same time like Ipad pro and Ipad air ??
@@NPC2358 Now that would be Great… but sadly it ain’t happenin… they want to not be too pricey at the start so they grab more ppls attention in selling more with lesser prices… they’d got a tad bit more pricey a few years later t drop that Upgraded version
New features might be used for a new Mario party
Switch 2 specs sound very promising
Tired: the mic on Switch 2 is for voice chat
Wired: the mic on Switch 2 is for DS games
You dont co pare load speeds of different systems directly the switch 2 is more efficent data usage and has a dedictated data decompresion engine the loading will be super fast
Sounds too good to be true
Not really 12gb is almost the standard 8gb is the least for Pc at the moment so 12gb will be the soon normal.
Nah 12GB gonna be the norm REAL SOON!
Remember the XSS released with 10GB of RAM, to save costs for that $250 price tag & it was quickly criticised for being too low for current gen games using more demanding engines like UE5, so honestly expect 12GB to become accepted for handhelds, where as consoles could be looking into 18GB, nah perhaps 20GB of RAM, up from 16GB rn.
Think about this. The Switch was a smashing success. About to be the best selling console of all-time. The only gripe - and it was a HUGE gripe - was the lack of power. This crippled 3rd party games in particular. Now imagine a Switch that can compete and run those 3rd party games WELL.
Switch will then dominate. There will be little reason to buy something like a Rog Ally when you can play Nintendo exclusives AND all the great 3rd party games in 4k on a Switch.
I'm sure this has been on the minds of people at Nintendo.
@@John6-40probably can’t wait till they announce this thing I’m glad the officially announced it’s coming but we have no idea what it’s going to be
It would be so awesome if the Nintendo Switch 2 will have Nintendo's first-ever Virtual Console (not like Virtual Boy) just like PS VR2 or Oculus Quest 3! 😎
that's a little low because some memory will be reserved for the system and not be used for games
Switch's Menu was 1GB, with 3GB left for games. If Switch 2's menu takes a quarter of the memory (3GB) you get 9GB for games, which is more than base PS4's combined RAM.
I hope the rumour is wrong and it is actually more than 12GB Ram
@@cheerful_crop_circle 12GB RAM is good enough, that's 3x more than Switch's 4GB RAM or 1.5x more than PS4's 8GB RAM.
@lol-ih1tl I'm fine with 12 ram I would be upset if it was 8 ram like a ps4, I think Nintendo is finally jumping on the power
I'm actually scared for the price of the console honestly...
The Switch 2 is comin folks...
I swear, I was trying to predict these specs a loooooooong time ago and now it feels like my childhood self would be screaming in happiness
No way it will cost more than 400. If they want it to sell well it has to be affordable for general public and 400 is already pushing it.
If that 12GB RAM rumor turns out true then it strongly suggests Nintendo is really looking to not gimp on power when it comes to Switch 2. This will easily be a system Nintendo can comfortably ride on for the next 10 plus years and even longer.
Not a rumour it's litterally shipping details
A78 CPU was the weakest compared To modern day ARM chipset with ARM X series CPU or Snapdragon Elite CPU .
It makes sense that the Switch 2 would be mid-way between a PS5 and a PS4 since the Switch 1 was mid-way between a PS4 and a PS3
Hello gamexplain thanks for the information
Todo eso ya se sabía hace tiempo
Claiming switch 2 gon be a upgrade, if you see games that you wouldn’t see on a switch don’t be surprised
This isn’t really a rumor. This information comes from real documents of the supply chains between Realtek, Nintendo and Nvidia.
This is as real as it gets
Knowing that the switch 2 will have a drastic increase in performance I hope Nintendo will give the new system a unique personality including home menu & eshop music. Nintendo has always added personality into their systems even if small except for the switch due to the switch's weak hardware. Nintendo still managed to add icon jingles though. There is no excuse now. Nintendo has the chance to create their best system yet with the best aspects from their previous systems. Fingers crossed.
7500 MT/s means LPDDR5X. Just like Apple's M4 chip.

The upgrade in RAM over the original Switch cannot be understated. 12GB isn't perfect, but it's pretty damn good compared to what we had before. It seems like it's finally time to start getting excited about what these games are going to look like!

basically, 12GB of ram is honestly really good for a modern handheld.
the switch is 4GB of ram, the PS4 is 8, and the PS5 is 12. so the switch 2 has three times the ram as the switch 1, and is between the ps4 and 5. and considering literally no game as even been close to pushing the ps5 yet; the fact it’s more powerful than a ps4 is great.
If we can just get 4K60FPS or even 120 FPS on next gen Nintendo, I probably won’t need a PS5 anymore cause most of my PS games I can play on my PC. I would just have a PC and Nintendo Switch 2 if it’s called that.
