Hoping that this could be An International Terminal for International flights and not for the Domestic flight
The Original International terminal is the worst
Not even a single food stall Is available
Please have 2nd 12,000 feet parallel runway, space for more maintenance hangers, more aircraft night time parking space and close the cross runway once 2nd parallel runway is completed. With some land acquisition, there is room for another dedicated international terminal.

I hope they will recruit a fresh group of friendly immigration and customs officials and send home the lazy and rude staff members.
Privatize the airport and build capacity also get back indian origin air traffic from colombo airport.
Cmbt la kooda oru 4 toilets iruku..but intha domestic terminal la only one toilet ..people have to stand in line to go for nature call..oru bathroom door la 5 people are standing in queue..manangetga airport..Chennai airport was the busiest airport once..now it's the worst..in India..banglore, Hyderabad..Cochin are far better interms of connectivity and infra..the one and only good thing is that the airport is in Chennai..that too no bus stop..they have parking for thousands of cars and auto and bike..but dint have a small bus stop where some 3 to 4 buses comes and pick up passengers..
When I was sitting outside the Intl. Airport for receiving a relative, a stray dog came near me and started licking my chappals! Worst than a Bus stand..or a Rly.Station.
When ever i am arrived in our international arrival in the morning time .
My first welcome is toilet urine smell over every where .and very worst cleaning in the arrival area.
Please keep it clean in the new terminal

Kick out the bloody AAI and privatize this airport. As long as this airport is under the control of the government, it can never rise to the quality of Mumbai, Delhi or Bangalore airports.

Building such a nice terminal and giving it to AAI for "maintaining" is like giving a garland to a monkey!
We will still have the same type of "service" and people asking for money openly in the guise of "helping".
At 1.06 there is a stray dog taking a snooze on the drive way of the Airport. How many crores to remove that?
If you want better airport: privatize. Only in private- you can dismiss-- the useless employee. Plain and simple.

Correct yourself Chennai international airport is the 5th busiest in the country not 4th. 4th is Hyderabad.
Chennai airport is beautifully built but very poorly maintained. It has nice large glass panes for the view but full of pigeon poop and looks very dirty. it looks like it hasnt been washed for years. only airport in the world i have seen this dirty. even small countries like thailand, qatar etc have well maintained airports. the bathrooms are so dirty. one time i saw water leaking all over the floor. the janitor whose job is supposed to be mopping up the wet floor, was standing beside the wash basin. he was handing out paper towels to foreigners, who were gullible enough to tip these frauds. they have a turn system it seems - like those janitors would take turns and issue out paper towels and demand tips, while nobody even remotely bothers about the water leakage. its such a shame

This looks like a cheap warehouse plastered with random gold features in the desperate hope of making it classy but miserably failed. Being Tamil myself, I am VERY disappointed that this took 4 years to construct. Bengaluru's Terminal 2 is far ahead and more in line with a globalised, modern city. Sadly Tamils do not see anything wrong with this.

This is the worst airport that I have ever visited, was there last week as well, saw toilet water running in front of the terminal. In fact, it does not even have a standard of bus terminal

Banglore and hyderabad are privatized but chennai is under the control of AAI. When will a government privatize a public limited? When it is under loss. Chennai airport is a boon so AAI itself maintaining it.
Bangalore or Hyderabad is a joke and they are no way near to Chennai at any terms... Chennai GDP is 200 billion USD and those 2 tier 2 cities are nowhere close at all😂😂😂...

Poor immigration counters for inbound passengers
No immigration cards given in flight to save time n crowds at entry.
No stands to write or pens given.
Very poor arrangement.
Non local speaking agents abd security staffs who can't speak even English nor the local language causing misunderstanding.
Just carry guns doesn't make u an efficient man.
Insufficient amenities and food outlets.
Poor rotting abd rusting seats for passengers
Poor signatures and linkway ... btw it's travallator and not walkallator

When india got independence, we had nothing except railway system...only few towns had electricity, millions of people died due to hunger, food shortage, when we asked for food from US, we didn't get enough support..better u learn history first...whatever u r seeing now from IIT, IIM, ISRO, Heavy Industries, Nuclear Projects, Green revolution for food crops, Airways, Construction of Many Ports etc... Everything is done by Congress...please dont say it didn't do anything

Go look at the number of IITs, IIM, AIMS , budget of ISRO and military, number of industrial corridors, IT parks, smart cities, access to electricity, National Highway/express way, airports, metros, ports and many more before 2014 vs 2023.
