Hi there Lu, Hayley & Zuzu. I was just thinking about you 2 yesterday! Lu you are not going to believe this, but, my Dad camped at that exact spot you all are in now. Tears are rolling down my cheeks. He loved that spot. Nice and private. He taught me everything I know about fishing, camping and life in general. The one thing that always comes to mind is…leave only your footprints behind. 💖 On windy days we would go around the campground picking up other people’s garbage. I’ve done it since. Child’s lake was one of my Dad’s favourite lakes! Diefenbaker was his favourite, that’s one of the reasons we moved here to the area to retire. Dad has been gone since 2007. OK, enough blubbering. I still can’t believe you don’t use bait! Those dang slough sharks! Dad got a hook in his finger so bad he had to cut the hook and slide it through, early 1970’s. Adda girl Hayley, net in the water! Next summer the husband and I would love to go fishing with you and Hayley on Deifenbaker. But until then, God’s blessings to you and Hayley and stay safe. 💖from Deifenbaker.
Wow what a small world!! Your dad sounds like a great outdoors man! We absolutely loved that child's lake camp ground too! And for sure leaving no trace behind or in even better condition when we leave! I always prefer to catch fish without bait, one less thing to worry about and a lot cleaner in the boat. Haha. We would love to meet you at Diefenbaker one day!! Take care Delphine. Enjoy the Fall! :)
