MUITO BOM
Nice cover
I thought this was cool as fuck. Especially the pool intro, lmfao. Very nice touch. People get so up tight as if petty himself wasn't just jamming and having fun with his buddies like this, especially when just starting out.
I read a quote from some musician once, I can't remember who. It went something like "I used to practice in my room and pretend I was on some stage in front of a ton of people. Now I'm on a stage in front of a ton of people and I pretend I'm just in my room jamming and having fun."
You guys look like you are having a lot of fun here. After 5 years since uploading, I bet you already wish you could be hanging by the pool with your buddies jamming out to some tom petty.
Really Cool & Awesome..you rock guys..you rock !
Liked & Subbed
Great job boys !!!
Good cover. I dig that John Lennon Epiphone.
this is fucking great! the dude singing has a incredible voice
Nice Job dude!!
Do you guys have your own music? you are all great musicians, didn't expect such nice vocals either. you guys got skill and style, don't stop rockin \m/ hell yes

I down loaded it to my mp 3 player good Job guys
Nice vocals...good job!
Ha, I like how you can tell this was not the first attempt by the water marks.
Not gonna lie but I thought I was about to see some, idk what to call it lol but you guys I give you hands down you the vocalist friggn nailed it! Drums guitars everything hahaha that was really gooood! Holy shit
Thanks for playing D major!

MVP: The dude with the blue shaker back there...
saddest thing ive ever seen is the dude at the back with his solitary shaker
You guys Rock 🎸 nailed it
you're good ;)
🤘
I feel like Evelast would cover the song like this.
So true
Everlast doesn’t have the ability to sing this high. But I feel it in the music lol
This cover was amazing I don’t know if you guys still make music but me and my friend Eddie would love to jam if you’re ever free. We’re still pretty new but that’d be awesome. Magic was happening during your recording session in this one guys if anything keep making music loved to hear this
Cool
bad fucking ass, its got originality and style, don't let any negative comments discourage any progress. keep on and good luck
love your version, very unique! although a little bit surprised with the effort invested in recording that is way more/better than video... keep it up!
You're fired.
Bad ass
good :)
odd question time: what sort of guitar do you play, and would you like to be part of the soundtrack for a short film (done for university)? I'll message you the details if you're potentially up for it
Sounds good.....just need that harmonica
Fucking beast cover though
I love this. All I wanna know is your name pronounced “cry rape”? Lol. Anyway you’re hella talented, keep up the amazingness
lol. why are you coming out of a pool?!?!?!
He was looking for his guitar pick...
Because is cool
Not bad ✌
nice. I'd love to see this redone with the drums pushed to the rear ... not that I'm against the drummer , just sorta overbearing on the recording
Very
Şahin K'nın müzisyen oğlu
You can tell this isn't their first take by the puddle of water where he stands. lmfao t
OMG THE FREAKS AND GEEKS KID!
...srs nice job tho.
You boys played it well but need some work on that production. Haha, we are all poor musicians though. I like the drummer's work on the simple kit without toms though.
Awesome cover! I have one on my page as well and I would love feedback!
The tempo is a little bit slow so the tune drags just a bit. The lead vocal is kinda turning the song into a country tune which isn't a good thing at all. Try to lose the country drawl ya all. But with that being said I didn't hate it. Good luck with the future guys. :-I
I think it adds character to the song. Anyone who covers it is going to do it differently. That's why it's a cover, and not a tribute. Good job guys, left my thumbs up at the first verse.
tehravin -- In reality just putting a country accent on the vocal is not covering the song any differently then it was recorded originally. They kept the songs musical structure completely identical to the TPATHB original version. So by your definition this is a tribute song. If your gigging in clubs you don't want to change up a cover too much anyway because people like to hear a familiar hit song the way it was originally recorded and that is a well known fact.
That still doesn't change the fact that the tempo is slow in this recording and thus the tune drags a bit which was the crux of my critique anyway.
(in my opinion) the country drawl in the vocal turns a rock song into a country tune. Why crossover a famous rock tune like Mary Jane's last dance to an entirely different demographic if you don't have to? Again...It's a rock classic.
If this band is a country band then I see why.
I said it in the first place because it seemed like the guy was putting on the country drawl because it just didn't sound natural to my ears.
It gave it (in my opinion) a Billy Bob Hillbilly feel to me. Nothing wrong with that if that is what your going for... I guess.
It just felt like a put on. If that is his natural voice then I guess there is nothing he can do about it. If I was him I'd try to put a stop to it.
It's like guys from the U.S. who sometimes can't help but sing with a British accent because they have so many Brit band influences. It happens. I said I didn't hate it. I just realized that I believe that it could have been done better.
Lynard Skynard was a great rock band... But these guys are no Lynard Skynard.
What I didn't like was the drag on drum beat! That has to go! :-I
Find something better to do man it's a cover on youtube they did great. Don't like the southern drawl make your own cover....
DangerousTexan -- Look Danger Tex. Read my follow-up commentary and you will see that the main issue I had with the tune had much less to do with the southern drawl in the lead vocal then it actually had to do with the dragging tempo. If you think it was done great that is your opinion... You're entitled to your opinion.. And so am I. They are all just kids.
In my opinion they lack that real artistic musical energy and they come off to me like a band of rich kids that don't have the inborn musical heart to do this kind of thing well. They just seem to be going through the motions and reveling in their 15 minutes of infamy. Perhaps I'm wrong...
Perhaps they could get better with time.
You know if they took my constructive criticism and ran with it they could get better at what they are trying to do. If they can't take my criticism (or even seriously consider it) then they don't belong in the music business for certain. That business will eat them alive even if they were the new Beatles... Which is a good case in point.
But right now their stage presence is like a seriously strong video sedative.
They just don't have the chops Tex.
If they are going to post video's of classic rock tunes. And then recreate them with a lot of virtual mediocrity like a group of clueless amateurs... Then they better be prepared to have people like me post my critical opinion of their mediocre work. It's gonna happen.
They have no idea what it will be like for them in the local club scene with this snail paced cover tune.
You never know though... They might actually listen to my advice and seek to polish their act to become better at what they do. Stranger things have happened in the past. Some people have the capacity to hear criticism and then use that criticism to their advantage.
Not all critiques are meant to hurt peoples feelings. While the truth does hurt sometimes... It can also help people to learn to do better the next time.
That's my opinion and I stand behind it.
So take it easy... Lone Star Emergency! :-I
Looks like someone took the old adage to heart: you can't always be the sharpest tool in the shed, but you can always be the biggest one.
Jokes aside, you are not supreme overlord of music; there's a difference between something being strictly bad and being not to your taste. The beauty in covers is that they are not clones. If you want to directly emulate the original artist, fine. What's also fine is for a band to give a song their own flair (what happened here). This includes tempo, this includes dropping the electric guitars and bass for two acoustics, dropping the percussion to a bass, snare, hi-hat and some fucker with a shaker, and getting rid of the harmonica altogether. No, the twang in the leads voice is fine, especially considering the instrumental accompaniment has less of a true rock flavor than the original.
If you want to hear Tom Petty you probably shouldn't be watching cover videos.
And what's with this horseshit about them being rich? Money can buy lessons but it can't give you the skill that comes from practice, and dedication, borne of a passion for music. And even if they were doing it for their "15 minutes of fame" and nothing more, that's certainly no worse than the garbage being produced these days for nothing other than money.
absolute bunch of goons buuuuuttt.. annoyingly good cover
