    Lyrics
    You are far
When I could have been your star
    You listened to people
Who scared you to death, and from my heart
Strange that you were strong enough
    To even make a start
    But you'll never find
    Peace of mind,
'Til you listen to your heart
    People
You can never change the way they feel
Better let them do just what they will
    For they will
    If you let them
    Steal your heart from you
    People
Will always make a lover feel a fool
But you knew I loved you
We could have shown them all
We should have seen love through
Fooled me with the tears in your eyes
Covered me with kisses and lies
    So goodbye
But please don't take my heart

This song has to be the most under appreciated song in George Michael's library. Definitely my favorite. So smooth and mellow. George Michael was so ahead of his time. A master and a beautiful human being. RIP George! You are missed so much, especially by those of us that grew up with you.

This song was the fifth or six single to be released from his Faith album. I believe it reached number one in the adult contemporary charts and eight in the hot billboard 100s. At the time it was definitely very unique for what was being played out on Pop radio. This song is pure genius and sounds just as fresh today as the day it was released. I instantly loved this song when it came out because it showed a whole other side of George’s immense talent.

George's voice was perfection, like writers and singers of the 40's. I wasn't here then, but grew up loving the music. This song showcases his brilliant writing and singing technique, a tribute to the visionaries who created the lasting genre of jazz, almost untouched to this day. I've been listening to Symphonica a bit, and it's all there. I think if he had lived, this song would've been George's rebirth, writing and singing great jazz music, with a unique style only he could create. Miss him so.

But I seldom think my voice is dead on, although I refuse to use auto-tune. A one-take wonder is VERY rare. There's always something to fix. But THIS song... Kissing a fool? I've tried singing it, I can sort of approximate it.... but it's HARD. There's a LOT of sudden flights and dives. I can't believe he just one-taked it. There's no way. That's impossible. Early on in his life he talked about this song. He said that he wrote the entire song on a plane ride. He wrote it start to finish including all the melodies and instrumental parts. He kept the song in his head for two years before he actually recorded it. He talks about how he never wrote in a traditional way. He wrote in his head first and if the song stayed in his head for a long time he knew it was meant to be recorded. He was a genius and magical songwriter. I can't imagine there will ever be another George Michael again. Many have tried emulate him but they can't come close.

For an unknown reason, I've just realized, this has been my favorite song since the first time I heard it. I love everything of it the rhythm, the lyrics and definitely loved George"s voice and music as well. My children and now my granddaughter have heard his music all their lives but most of all "Kissing a fool" ❤

This sounds like an old classic, but George actually wrote it & later Michael Buble recorded it. This song is listed as the least successful on the Faith album (wow), considering it's a sure hit and he was so smooth & mellow. I had the pleasure of seeing George in concert during the Faith tour when I lived in Detroit and a once in a lifetime performance of him & Aretha Franklin singing I Knew You Were Waiting For Me. Aretha was afraid of flying, so her being from Detroit was really special that she performed with him. Idk if any other venue ever got to see them together since she refused to fly. Earlier this year they tore down the 30 yr. old venue (Palace of Auburn Hills) & I thought of both of them being gone...... Yes, I had GREAT seats! This is when we had to stand in line at ticketmaster. I was in a very long line outside the mall & someone drove past saying ticketmaster at another location had a shorter line & I hopped in the car with someone I didn't even know (had been talking in line) to get my tickets. Lol. It was beyond worth it. **George was knock you out, scream at the top of your lungs, stunningly handsome in person!

So it's 1988, I'm 8 years old. George's voice was so powerful, silk, and smooth, that I remember watching people skate to this. I didn't remember them skating, I remembered the song they were skating to. Missing you George, still in December 2021.

He’s my favourite artist of all time. Nearly six years on it’s still heartbreaking knowing he’s not here. There’s a few of his songs that are difficult to listen to and this is one of them. Him and Deon the bass player (who passed away last year) will be jamming together in heaven now :)

U seem like a really genuine person but i think saying he was " underated" is a bit off the mark...he was one of the biggest selling artists in the 80s n on top of this won grammys...u cant really do much better than that unless u are the Beatles..."faith" is arguably one of the best pop records of all time n was number one for weeks in the u.s.a🤔🤔 i say no more...all the best anyway😁😁

    • @mhg7717
      @mhg7717 4 года назад +2

@@nicholaskovacs207 I totally agree with you. I do think that he wasn't quite as recognized for his singing as much as he should have been especially after the group disbanded, then the public realizing he was gay, the issue with drugs, and the sex scandal. I think a lot of those situations overshadowed his career. Just like people still feel Prince was underrated as a singer AND a guitarist. Hell, even Boy George is an awesome singer. I'm basically saying George Michael should get more props. ^_^

Yes forsure..i get what u mean now..and i agree he had an amazing voice..as good as any male singer ever in my opinion😁😁and you know above anything he was actually a really really genuine guy who gave loads n loads to charity and those in need..he was so humble that most of the time when he gave away money he didnt want people to know he was the one behind the generosity..a bit like a secret santa..such a sad lost but we have loads of songs to keep his memory alive..r.i.p george😍😍😍😍

He was an angel sent down to us. I pray that when I die I will hear his voice in that ever-increasing choir of musicians. God bless him.
