The timer is for game balance. Canonically, his ult doesn’t have a time limit like how he has unlimited flashes or for instance, Omen have unlimited teleport.

Well, the studio that animated this also made the "Love, Death + Robots" series and the cutscenes for Halo 2: Anniversary, among other things. Might not be the same universe, but at least you can get the same quality of animation :^) (LD+R actually has way higher animation quality than this though).

Defuse: takes 3 seconds
The Defuse was actually 6 seconds long and in game it's actually 7. Had it been a second longer and it would've been one heck of an accurate detail.
But Phoenix ult only lasts 10 seconds. I’m guessing it doesn’t end when he does it lorewise though

Trailers highlight abilities. Aim is much worse and abilities are much stronger here.
Duh.. time is not linear in these trailers bro.. you can't count to 10 after you saw phoenix ulting in the trailer and think that time is portraited exactly like that in the trailer.
Btw, these animations aren't supposed to be exactly like the game in every single detail.

The timer is for game balance. Canonically, his ult doesn’t have a time limit like how he has unlimited flashes or for instance, Omen have unlimited teleport.

Well, the studio that animated this also made the "Love, Death + Robots" series and the cutscenes for Halo 2: Anniversary, among other things.
Might not be the same universe, but at least you can get the same quality of animation :^) (LD+R actually has way higher animation quality than this though).

Valorant with Blur Studio and we might just get something like Arcane some years in the future once Valorant has rich and solid enough lore to work with. I too definitely can't wait to get something like Arcane for Valorant
