    Very good presentation.
    There has to be a multifaceted approach to bring up India. Without question, realisation of India's heritage, history and its contribution to philosophy, reasoning, science and technology before are important. Feeling proud of India's past is certainly needed.
    But that is not enough. India has to strive hard to get out of it's slumber. Economic and social development are very important. Military development can not lag behind, not to inconvenience anyone but not to be preyed upon by anyone one else as it happened several times before.
    Till India becomes economically strong and militarily might, it can not regain its rightful place in this modern world. There are hundreds of people making a living in western societies and universities studying, talking and publishing about ancient India. This in general is not the case with Indian academic and university settings, because they cannot support these activities due to financial constraints.
    Previous governments of India in general were not Indicentric and they looted India, probably as much as the invaders and colonisers, if not more. We have to remember history well, but we can not un do any thing that happened before. Light at the end of tunnel is visible now it seems and hopefully things will fall in place for India with right governance and hard work.

    Wonderful talk... But saying that Mughals and Islamic invaders didn't want to destroy completely is a bit off... They burnt Nalanda, Takshashila and other giant repositories of our Indian knowledge systems, even ensuring that not a single monk escaped to revive the knowledge.

      He is comparing British with Moghals. Till 17th century we had Veda Patta Shala, and we kept our ancient culture, in spite of Invasion & temple/university destruction. British on the other hand, wore a soft Hat and distorted & destroyed our Veda and Sanskrit education that ultimately divided India/Pakistan, Dravidian/Aryan etc..

    China resolved this issue smartly. They ignored the vehement protest by minds who were still under colonial influence from their own country's imperial past. Once this group of generation was ignored using force, the next generation got to know the truth of their rich history. However the vote bank politics keeps India from coming back on the right track and we continue disrespecting our own heritage without even exploring it. People can spend entire weekend on Facebook, Bollywood, Netflix or getting sloshed in pubs but won't care to spend even a minute on digging their own family history. Whatever NCERT books says is taken for granted for entire life.

    Good point was made at the beginning. Majority of the "Hindu Nationalists" vehemently criticise Islamic rule for degradation of Indian heritage. It is true during Islamic invasion and rule places of learning like Nalanda was destroyed and temples were demolished, manuscripts were burned; but we still had Sanatan learning system going on. But during the British rule, they systematically destroyed our whole education system, sadly with help of several Indian stooges.

    rofessor, I enjoyed your lectures. But will it not be effective to be at the forefront of current science -- in hygiene, discipline? why should we devote time to an earlier times that anyway failed. If we are to assume that ancients were superior, then how come such science allowed an entire nation to be taken over by foreign forces? India must march forward while learning of the past and respect for their rich past. But march forward it must.

    The only flaw I find in the argument is regarding patriotism. Should one be patriotic or go for the truth. Considering that all the other nations in the world seem to be suffering from an overdose of patriotism while in the vedic land, there seems to be a crisis. One needs to atleast check if one's roots are true.
    The iit plan was bound to fail. One can't expect someone to pick up Sanskrit, learn some vyakarana and poetics and go for the math , in graduate school, especially when their previous exposure is poor.
    In 14 minutes the speaker has charted out the path the nation needs to take.
    Pray RamaSubbayya lives a long life and sees the changes he desires, in a short time.
    Shaale -- good job.

      Words and natural languages have limitations and can’t encode the meanings in their topology for decoding by the hearers of those words with their minds when separated by societal spacetime of infinite kinds. Its the combined outcomes of these factors results in miscommunication. That’s why silence is preferable over conversations to achieve communications through sensorial infrastructure.

    • @jaxveda5429
      @jaxveda5429 7 лет назад +4

      I think there is a serious disconnect here. Bharata samskriti has nothing to do with Hindi, the language per se. Hindi has been alien to the south, and most of the other regions of India, especially in towns and villages, as further north as Punjab for example. We need not be for or against the Hindi language. But to unite Bharatha in the name of hindi, or the modern sense of India is puerile. The Tamil culture is definitely the foremost of the Bharatiya cultures and demands to be uniquely placed in the realms of Bharatha. In the same tone, Hindi also is preciously guarded by its native speakers and rightfully so. Modern India need not pander to meaningless jingoism in the name of Bharatha, for the Sanatana Vaidika Dharma was well and alive much before Hindi had touched any parts of the Divya Dravida Desha.

    • @cibiraj1275
      @cibiraj1275 7 лет назад +5

      Tamils are okay with Sanskrit and not Hindi. Hindi is younger than Tamil and has persian islamic influence. Sanskrit is on par / older than tamil and Tamil and Sanskrit both travelled together in the time scape of Tamil nadu.

    • @RamGopal-vo8wx
      @RamGopal-vo8wx 6 лет назад +1

      Policy makers must have made sanskrit as a national language or both tamil (for south indians) and hindi (for northern part) as official languages of the country. Then there would have been lots of friendship between both the regions. Because language plays a key factor to unite all of us

    • @hari2utube2

      😀 In all fairness, the ancient culture is more preserved in tamilnadu, at least by brahmins, I would say. Yes however tamilians are comparatively disconnected with rest of the country due to lack of verbal skills in Hindi.

    It's not the non indian outsiders that are the elements which need to be tackled. Apart from that our unscientific, religious and narrow-minded approach to tackle things in social, political, religious or scientific areas has also been a bigger impediment. The western foreigners are not always and totally in confrontation with us. Atleast they came and tried to learn what we had. They took pains to get a hang of Indian culture and with that they formed their opinion. It's actually we with our apathetic nature failed to update ourselves from time to time. We have no desire or zeal to unearth the hidden treasure that we had in the form of knowledge. We have since beginning been dependent on somebody else to do that for us. We see people of other countries engaged in so many philenthropical, environmental, historical, religious, educational, adventurous and several other humanitarian activities outside their own countries but not any Indian. Indians are never known to venture out for such activities. So many people from different civilizations came to India from time to time with a good or something sinister in their mind but Indians never reciprocated. This is the reason that for the last one thousand years we have not contributed anything valuable to the world.
