- While astronomy is the science of exploring the world that is outside, meditation is the science of exploring what is inside. In this talk by Khurshed Batliwala, he explores how Ancient Indian Scientists and Astronomers knew about the wonders of the outside world which modern day science is still catching up.
With a post graduate in Mathematics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, Khurshed Batliwala, or Bawa as he is fondly known (a nick name that has stuck from his IIT days) is an extraordinary personality.
In his own words, he decided it was better to teach people meditation and make them happy rather than teach them mathematics and make them miserable and thus chose the unconventional and challenging career path as a faculty member of the Art of Living, sharing the vision of its founder, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, which is to see a smile on every face on the planet.

That's because Indians have a self hatred towards their fellow Indian brothers and sisters. They have a bad habit of being hostile towards their own and accepting and appreciating foreigners instead of their own, so much so they( Indians who are knowledgeable in ancient indian knowledge of wisdom and sciences)teach foreigners instead of teaching and educating Indians of the ancient knowledge of our ancestors. Now they wonder why indians are parting ways with their culture. If the knowledge and teachings are withheld from Indian out of hatred towards them for no reason, then the culture will disappear. There are no clear sign of Indians trying to change this bad situation. All they keep doing is teach their ancient knowledge to the white race who in turn rebrand this ancient knowledge as originating elsewhere and not from ancient India in an effort to discredit Indians. Yet Indians don't learn. They keep going down this destructive path and dragging the fellow Indian brothers and sisters down with this destructive path. The white race don't care about the Indian race or their achievements to the human race. They only are concerned about diminishing the Indian race into next to nothing with help from stupid Indian men. Our ancestors would be horrified with shame to see what their descendents have done with the legacy they left behind.
This is because you don't have the scriptures as a subject at school...
Christianity taught me almost nothing I didn't already understand intuitively... Indian philosophies are so important. They should be taught in all secular nations. I am vegan, and am learning more and more about the Jain concept of Ahimsa. It's not perfect, but it makes so much more sense than what the Western world is proselytizing.

I am a Christian and an indian. And the Hindu scriptures perfectly describes Jesus . They say asadhoma sathgamaya, thamasoma jyodirgamaya, mruthyoma amrutham gamaya.
Meaning
From ignorance, lead me to truth;
may the light of knowledge remove the darkness of ignorance;
Lead me from death to immortality
And Jesus exactly said that am the way, the truth and the life.
I studied with Maharishi was a teenager... he metioned a Sanskrit concept, a level of experience of the human mind, called, "Ritambhara pragyan" the state of mind that only knows truth. Once a person meditates enough to develop liberated awareness, one can introduce the Sanskrit name of an object, and experience the wholeness, the reality of any object, and he gave the moon as an example, that the rishi can know Chandra on the level of consciousness, and cognize the nature of it.
Tears 😢 knowing that after so much of knowledge and wisdom we are still fighting living in constant fear. Why our education system is ruined and why our children are diverted to wrong track. I should start with 🙇♂️ my gurus and parents first and learn and share my love for this incredible country.
Old Indian education system & books were destroyed by outer tyrants invaders to spread their own religion. They thought India is following a religion, but it was a culture, a scientific culture symbolised into deities. Muscle power & tyrants religious arrogance destroyed the knowledge. The whole Nalanda university was burnt which took months of burning.

In the field of astronomy, ancient India gave the world SURYASIDDHANT which has no parallel in the entire world due to its depth and accuracy of knowledge.

All the ancient saints were curious for knowledge.
And u know knowledge can be of many types religious, scientific or any other aspect.
But today most saints were pankhandis.
They themselves follow superstitious beliefs and force people to believe that.
Hope another aryabhatta to be born again and erase all superstition and takes us to the right path where both science and spirituality are combined.
Though I got option to reject sadhguru i.e. khursed batliwala he talks about both science and spirituality better than sadhgurus nonsense and loop holes talks.

If we present humans aren't able to control our own body how can we control our surroundings. Ancient Indians were able to control their bodies. All from heart to their smooth muscles. They were able to see animals which used to rest in higher realms. Now western tech. Western always had this ego that they are the one who gave science to this world. I am Ukraininan Hare Krishna and i tried to share Vedic Cosmology model with my friends and many were Skeptical but after many studies and deeper investigation they came to me and said Indeed Vedic Astronomy is Mind blowing how could such an old Tradition Eve. The sloka that you used from our scriptures to measure the speed of light & the way it was sung just made me cry as much with its beautifulness as with the fact they already knew it.
I am a Sri Lankan, these days I am studying a shastra (subject) called Maha Kakshaputa Yantra Vidaya. It is an ancient occult science which describes Yantra techniques. Yantra is a kind of geomatrical drawing incooperated with letering. These letters produce specific sounds. The Yantra drawn according to the mathematical theories explained in Maha Kaksha Puta Yantra Vidya can be used for both good and evil intentions. So, he mentioned something called KATAPAYADHI table. The entire Yantra drawing theory is based on that KATAPAYADHI table. This point takes me to a conclusion that Ynatara shastra has a root which is beyond the modern science.

When the sun in fifteen ghathikâs [six hours] moves from the residence of Indra to that of Yamarâja, it covers a distance of 23.775.000 yojanas [a quarter of the circumference].
If the sun moves so much in six hours, the radius of the orbit would be 23.775.000 * 4 / (2 pi) ~ 15 million yojanas ~ 135 million miles (using Kak’s units). We immediately have an example where a non-astronomical text has given a much higher distance to the sun than the half million yojanas that Kak claims. If Bhagavata can claim large distances and speeds for the sun, what is stopping Sayana? Remember that he is not an astronomer either and has the license to pull numbers out of his… poetry.
In fact, Kak himself states that Vishnu Purana puts the sun-earth distance at 15 million yojanas. This is presumably not a contradiction for him since it is not an astronomical text.
He then claims that this discrepancy is because the yojana in the Puranas is smaller than the standard yojana by a factor of 36.””

Note that above manuscript evidence dates to 200 BC available Although this occurred 700-800 BC.
Job states of the earth [26:7]: "He stretches out the north over empty space; He hangs the earth on nothing" (NKJ).
Book of job also has evidence among scrolls dated to 100 BC and occurring around 1400 BC.

Science is the externalization of perception and awareness toward the exploration and discovery of the vast universe in which we live, whereas religion (return to the source), is the internalization of perception and awareness toward the exploration and discovery of the timeless/formless silence out of which all space/time emerges and takes form..To merge the two into an active curriculum, beginning from early childhood is the focus of my work. By both sharpening and deepening the tools of perception and awareness when applied to scientific thought could very well produce a number of insights and breakthroughs that would otherwise not be accessible by drinking coffee alone, if you get the drift. When my daughters pressurising me about travelling places my answer to them is " I have not yet travelled inside me . " I don't know why, but whenever I have been in foreign countries with family , I feel my inner journey is more exciting. Yup. Even how we learn about the universe and creation, big bang theory, is a reframing of heaven and creation. So much so that a lot of people don't realize that the heaven, for many ancient societies, was just the universe as we know it now.
Only after Vasco Da Gama reached India , Western science developed. They looted the science from India and imported us as western education.

Can India set up Schools of Mathematics around the country in the model of the old one in Kerala that produced outstanding math scholars and original math concepts like algebra? These schools should encourage Sanskrit scholarship, study of our scriptures, astronomy and mathematics and publish papers in global publications. These schools should develop the next generation of scholars well versed in our heritage!
Vedic University and institutes would be funded by temples . Govt would make them not taxable and instead they will provide funding and grants for that cause

🐟 22. NON-MONARCHICAL GOVERNANCE:
COMMUNISM/SOCIALISM is intrinsically evil, because it reduces individual citizens to utilities, who, in practice, are used to support the ruling elite, who are invariably despotic scoundrels, and very far from ideal leaders (i.e. compassionate and righteous monarchs). Those citizens who display talent in business or the arts are either oppressed or their talents are coercively utilized by the corrupt state. Wealth is literally stolen from the rich. Spiritual teachings (“dharma”, in Sanskrit) are repressed by the irreligious and illegitimate government.
DEMOCRACY is evil, because, just as the rabble favoured the murderous Barabbas over the good King Jesus, the ignorant masses will invariably vote for the candidate which promises to fulfil their inane desires, rather than one which will enforce the law and promote a wholesome and just society. Read Chapter 12 for the most authoritative and concise exegesis of law, morality, and ethics, currently available.
Even in the miraculous scenario where the overwhelming majority of the population are holy and righteous citizens, it is still wrong for them to vote for a seemingly-righteous leader. This is because that leader will not be, by definition, a king. As clearly and logically explicated in the previous paragraph of this Holy Scripture, MONARCHY is the only lawful form of governance. If an elected ruler is truly righteous, he will not be able to condone the fact that the citizens are paying him to perform a job (which is a working-class role), and that an inordinate amount of time, money and resources are being wasted on political campaigning. Furthermore, an actual ruler/leader does not wimpishly pander to voters - he takes power by (divinely-mandated) force.
The thought of children voting for who will be their parents or teachers, would seem RIDICULOUS to the average person, yet most believe that they are qualified to choose their own ruler. They are most assuredly not. Just as the typical child fails to understand that a piece of sweet, juicy, healthy, delicious fruit is more beneficial to them than a cone of pus-infested, fattening, diabetes-inducing ice-cream, so too can the uneducated proletariat not understand that they are unqualified to choose their own leader, even after it is logically explained to them (as it is in this chapter, as well as the previous chapter). And by “uneducated”, it is meant misguided in the realities of life and in righteous living (“dharma”, in Sanskrit), not in facts and figures or in technical training.
To put it frankly, democracy is rule by the “lowest common denominator”.
It should be obvious that ANARCHY can never ever succeed, because even the smallest possible social unit (the nuclear family) requires a dominator. Any family will fall-apart without a strict male household head. In fact, without the husband/father, there is no family, by definition. The English noun “husband” comes from the Old Norse word “hûsbôndi”, meaning “master of the house”.
The same paradigm applies to the extended family, which depends on a strong patriarchal figure (the eldest or most senior male). Likewise with clans, tribes, villages, towns, cities, and nations.
Unfortunately, there are many otherwise-intelligent persons who honestly believe that an ENTIRE country can smoothly run without a leader in place. Any sane person can easily understand that even a nuclear family is unable to function properly without a head of the house, what to speak of a populous nation. The reason for their distrust of any kind of government is due to the corrupt nature of democratic governments, and the adulteration of the monarchy in recent centuries, but if anarchists were to understand that most all “kings/queens” in recent centuries were not even close to being true monarchs, they may change their stance on that inane 'system'.
Most of the problems in human society are directly or indirectly attributable to this relatively modern phenomenon (non-monarchies), since it is the government’s role and sacred DUTY to enforce the law (see Chapter 12).
One of the many sinister characteristics of democracy, socialism, and other evil forms of governance, is the desire for their so-called “leaders” to attempt to control, or at least influence, the private lives of every single citizen. For example, in the wicked, decadent nations in which this holy scripture was composed, The Philippine Islands and The Southland (or 'Australia', as it is known in the Latin tongue), the DEMONIC governments try, and largely succeed, in controlling the rights of parents to properly raise, discipline and punish their children according to their own morals, compulsory vaccination of infants, enforcing feminist ideology, limiting legitimate powers an employer has over his servants, subsidizing animal agriculture, persecuting religious leaders (even to imprisonment and death, believe it or not), and even trying to influence what people eat and wear.
Not that a government shouldn’t control what its citizens wear in public, but it should ensure that they are MODESTLY dressed, according to the guidelines outlined in Chapter 28, which is hardly the case in Australia, the Philippines, and similar nations. At least ninety-nine per cent of Filipinas, for instance, are transvestinal, despite Philippines pretending to be a religious nation.
Basically, the worst of the non-monarchical governments promote (or at least permit) ALL things contrary to God’s perfect and pure will, such as adultery, fornication, prostitution, pornography, homosexuality, gambling (even running lotteries themselves), illegitimate abortion of poor innocent unborn children, irreligion, drug addiction, disrespect for authority, and advancing materialism and ignorance via a powerful network of institutions of miseducation (so-called “schools, colleges and universities”). Their aim is to produce a population of indoctrinated citizens who have been conditioned to serve the state and its perverse agendas.
Even though non-monarchical leaders are committing a criminal act by ordering the persecution of its citizens, or instigating war on another nation, the police and military personnel who execute their orders are equally (if not MORE) guilty of their dirty deeds. Even if a non-monarchical government punishes a criminal, that in itself is a criminal act, because it has absolutely no authority to do so. That is akin to a baby punishing its mother for theft, when it is actually the role of the infant's father to enact disciplinary action upon the woman in question.
For the past few centuries, most of the earth has been controlled by a CABAL of men comprising of extremely wealthy businessmen (particularly bankers) and so-called religious leaders (those who command a huge following). Ironically, some of these elite businessmen instigate a pseudo-socialist government within their nations, so that they themselves can control the financial system for their selfish goals.
This planet is surely doomed, unless the most pernicious institutions ever known to man (democracy, socialism and communism), are replaced by the ONLY legitimate form of government (monarchy - ideally a holy monarch, though even a mediocre king is preferable to being ruled by an elected official or a sociopathic megalomaniac, who could almost never be a righteous ruler).
Let it be known, however - non-monarchical rule can not and will not endure. Once society has devolved to such a debased level where it can no longer survive intact, the natural-born kings of the earth shall arise and regain their rightful place at the head of each and every nation.

When reading up on how our very own Indian sages tracked the movement of these celestial bodies, I was absolutely shocked to discover that they already knew that these planets moved in an elliptical orbit around the Sun. The truth is that he got his theories by translating and reading the ancient Vedic texts which spoke back then about how gravity influences time and space, and how space and time are related, among other things like the existence of atoms, the cosmos etc.. The ancients were such deep thinkers because they were not bogged down by petty concepts like pride, ego and retaliation. They knew the futility of rage and they would rather focus their energies towards excellence of mind and soul. I think this is the prime difference between the ancients and the present day Indians that we are just lost in fighting one another over petty issues and political differences instead of focusing on spiritual and scientific growth.
Indian thinkers were on right path of seeking knowledge..they lived the life of violence and distruction before the rest of world. That's why when foreigners invaded India then the whole process and path of knowledge stopped to cope up with the new challenges and fight to survive. When survival is at risk the first thing which gets lost is seeking and thinking and exploring something new.
It is such an euphoric moment to hear wise people like Bawa sharing his wisdom with us all, particularly on the wisdom of ancient India on astrology. Well, it is not only astrology, one of his talks earlier revealed wisdom of ancient india in several other areas too. If the sun moves so much in six hours, the radius of the orbit would be 23.775.000 * 4 / (2 pi) ~ 15 million yojanas ~ 135 million miles (using Kak’s units). We immediately have an example where a non-astronomical text has given a much higher distance to the sun than the half million yojanas that Kak claims. If Bhagavata can claim large distances and speeds for the sun, what is stopping Sayana? Remember that he is not an astronomer either and has the license to pull numbers out of his… poetry.
In fact, Kak himself states that Vishnu Purana puts the sun-earth distance at 15 million yojanas. This is presumably not a contradiction for him since it is not an astronomical text.
He then claims that this discrepancy is because the yojana in the Puranas is smaller than the standard yojana by a factor of 36.””

There are so many with hours long sessions uploaded on various kinds of topics, even geopolitics.
This just adds to the piles of information that there were advanced civilizations before ours. Earth has a cyclical catastrophe cycle of about every 12,000 years. "Some" people always survive and carry with them some of the ancient knowledge. That knowledge still could well have come from looking within.
