Low rank mashing hopkick at -9 : you fucking idiot why would you even press there
High rank mashing hopkick at -9 : I can’t believe he just did that he’s so good
Mashing hop kick at -9 you are going to get stuffed every fucking time thats basically 23f of shit your opponent can do even if you jab thats asking for a launch
@@Warsheep2k6
You will get stuffed every fucking time if your opponent always does fast shit every fucking time.
Some people will delay their fast attacks in attempt to catch you moving or pressing at the wrong time.
Or go for big mixups after blocking a -9 on block move. Most power lows and mids may come out slower than 24frames due to inputs such as f, F or crouch dash notations or just because the opponent was delaying their move in attempt to mess with your timing.
@@CosmicVoid420 theres a difference in mind games and low level play of course you can hop kick after a minus 9 move however you have to read your opponent or have pure dumb luck on your side
Really good stuff man. I'm thankful that someone is speaking about this stuff. It's so sad that unfortunately, it is going to take so much time for someone to actually understand this all for themselves. This game requires blood sweat and tears to get to that point. I don't think people truly understand that this game is insanely hard. Precision is the ultimate goal. But when you finally get to a certain point when you can be thankful and truly satisfied with where you're at. You'll start playing some real tekken. Keep it up. Keep discussing. Keep spreading this knowledge. Keep trying to help enlighten us. The right person will find it when their time is ready.
Also, I saw someone in your chat say "the language of Tekken." If that person is reading this, please find me. I wanna talk to you.
When I was newer at the game, I played turn based tekken for ages lol. This right here is very important. Opening someone up when you're playing turn based tekken is very difficult, especially for trying to land counterhits!
You mind telling me how far in turn based tekken became detrimental? I'm stuck in green rank and find that when I don't press immediately on my turn I lose it. No matter my movement
@@yenice3652 from my experience, I find that taking turns is not always a bad thing, but sometimes you want to be more unpredictable and try to steal their turn with a fast move that might avoid a low or a high. For me it was around the yellow/orange ranks that I needed to really be making more reads and finding ways continue momentum in the rounds. Sometimes it's just attacking and then back dashing, or perhaps attacking and taking a side step. Basically create windows for your opponent to lose their turn. Playing Tekken is like a big game of chess lol
@@yenice3652it’s because in green rank they are always mashing. So instead of trying to delay anything, you should just press a button when you’re plus and counterhit them
Also no-mixup-mixup works better on high level players. If you go for bryans qcb3 two times in green ranks, the second one will always be blocked. High level players expect you not to throw two brain dead lows
To be honest as a Bryan aswell i lose much more matches when i allow them to mix me up all the time and never retaliate back even at -frames. I got a hate mail from a dude when i started mash ws3 and score a CH after being like -7 on crouch 😂 was hilarious.
Tbh, mashing with bryan is one of the biggest things separating decent bryans from good ones
@@tytk ff4 into f3 works so fucking good 😂 enjoying the content man! As a bryan enthusiast your videos r like a bible to me
@@davideguernieri5115 They get counterhit by the f3 everytime after Mach kick 😅
@@davideguernieri51153+4 on block into 3+4 counterhit is a true combo lmao
I feel like you're one of the guys who can actually explain what is happening on the screen
depends on your opponent. At purple ranks and lower instant timing is good when you have a frame advantage. You'll rack up lots of damage as they constantly mash out of frame. Also i understand your HEI versus Bryan example but as soon as you start monkey mashing the skilled player isnt gonna just keep delaying and getting hit in the face with your mash.
you taught me everything at 5:50
I loved your video on how to properly use db3 I wish you would make more videos like that and like this love the content
More content on the way bro ! Thanks for the support
I agree with everything u said in this vid, great content bro
Kind of off topic but does anyone know the music plaing in the background?
but here's the thing all my Tekken friends love to mash against Bryan. They even press after eating hatchet. So then I destroy them with frametraps
It's why characters like Josie and Asuka can steam roll through low ranks, you just steal turns.
4:24 well said
Thanks for this.
Basically pressing at minus works at high level bc the opponent doesn't always press at plus?
It's a simple way to put it, and it is right, but you must be able to truly understand this in your own mind. I always tell people that frames are just the operation manual for a character or essentially the game. It allows you to understand the world of tekken and to navigate your way in Tekken as your character. When you reach a certain point of precision, you essentially "become" your character and at this point, it's not really about the frames anymore because you've ascended your mind into the game and you can create actions and move around in the game almost as if you're "in" the game. Hopefully that's not too far out there for you. But keep going along on your journey. You'll get there one day at a time.
Pressing at minus works if the opponent does slow moves or delays their attacks.
Jimmyj is best at his neutral playstyle i.e. what every bryan player should opt for
Knee being a bryan God himself plays too defensive playstyle
But jimmy is just at another level
Noob question, yow hei got launched after using df1 if he is +6 after block bryan 1,2,1 string? I dont get it bro
Heihachi did a delayed df1. If he did the df1 on immediate timing then it should beat out Bryan ff4 IIRCC.
Nice Video. Good thing I found this video before I made my take on this 😂. Keep it up, a quick subscribe from me 👍
I always just jab it works in a real fight it works in the game let them try to hit I just jab them in the face
Till they do some high crush shit
This facts tho it’s about mind games
Pros don’t mash - they play “out of frame” when needed, but its NOT mash. Mashing is random, and will get you CHed. Please stop calling it MASH. Its not.
If you really want to be good in Tekken, just buy a DLC character. Every single one of them are cracked beyond belief.
Except for armor king, he’s just kinda mediocre 🙂
@@DESUstroke Total bullcrap. AK is 100% as broken as the rest of them.
@@EsteemedReptile and what’s so broken about him? Besides ff n 2, which is, i agree, a bit overtuned, tho it heavily depends on the matchup
@@DESUstroke "What's so broken about him?"
*Immediately names something broken about him*
You've made my point for me.
@@EsteemedReptile oh wow so one move makes character broken now? Then there’s like 50 chars in cast who are broken lmao
Like, the real bullcrap there is how you put ak with the likes of marduk, geese, zafina and kuni which is ridiculous
Also there are lei and anna who are either heavily depend on gimmicks or gambling which inherently can’t be considered broken
So your point of “every dlc is broken” simply is not true, objectively
The pros are waaay too robotic and safe. I don't like watching arslan, jdcr etc it's boring. They don't have fun or take risk or show any creativity.
Spoken like a true green rank
I understand your point, and you're right, but a lot of your terminology is wrong. And a lot of your advice only applies to about 0.1% of the Tekken community. This is awful advice for beginner/intermediate players.
What terminology is wrong?
Also i feel like it’s obvious that this video only applies to a small portion of the tekken community considering the title is literally “Why mashing works at HIGH LEVEL” and i literally discuss why it’s easier to mash against good players. Did you even watch the video lol?
bro just pick hwoarang mash both kick buttons and u will get to genbu in one day
As a beginner/intermediate player what I take from this video is to be unpredictable and mixup my options based on what my opponent expects. I think it's great advice. He didn't say just mash all the time for no reason LMAO
It's not awful advice. It's super high level advice that beginner/intermediate players can't comprehend. They will understand when they get to a certain point in their journey
