- I recently was gifted a kit from Keith @rcicons4915 and I am so very thankful as this terra Scorcher finishes out my Thunder Shot chassis collection!! In this one I will get it built. The run got pushed off by the wet conditions and I kind of forgot to paint the cockpit area and the driver helmet!!! LOL
You guys are all awesome and I appreciate all the great comments and questions from everyone. Really enjoying talking to you all in the comments section.

I enjoyed every minute of that build! It is an amazing looking buggy and now that it has the driver figure in there it looks even better!!! Many, many thinks for this and I hope to get it out running around this weekend! I think it will do extremely well out there on the track and it just looks fast sitting there!!! Once I got the drive figure in there yesterday I just sat there looking it over for quite a while soaking it all in!!!

It really is a great looking buggy and I have no idea why I was dragging my feet to get one! I guess because it has been readily available for some time so I didn't feel a rush on it. I am very blessed the Keith decided to send this over to me!! I greatly appreciate all the support from everyone big and small!!

Yeah the Thunder Shot has it beat in the iconic buggy category but this is right up there with the looks for sure. I always had it second as well but once I had it in my hands it is a really great looking buggy! I am hoping to get t out for a run this weekend if I have time so hopefully a run video will follow up soon! I am very grateful to Keith for sending this over to me as well as to everyone else's support too!!

I always though it was a good looking buggy but after getting it finished up I am kind of taken aback by how good looking it is!! I can understand your concern for not wanting to tear it up as it is quite a looker!! Looks like your collection of the Thunder Shots are complete, that's a beautiful deep Blue color. The bleed through on the wing gives it that special marking. Thank you and the blue and the different shades on the decals works perfectly together! Tamiya nailed it when they designed this one! I am really happy that the TS chassis collection is complete and the next to work on is finding the other two dragons I need to have all of those! The Storm Dragon should be easy enough to find or create and the original Saint Dragon may be a very hard one to get so that one may take a lot of time. I am extremely thankful to Keith for the amazing gift and he does have a amazing collection and I love seeing all the cool and rare cars he has found!! I appreciate the support from everyone else as well, you guys rock!
What an awesome gift from Keith. This buggy's a great car and a good add to your collection.
The body fix is unsual for me velcro might not be the best solution for a buggy. I know many dust or under bodies use this method, but they still have a body over it and if the dust wins they can't get off.

Thank you and yes it was a very nice surprise that Keith wanted to send this over for me! I am very grateful for the gift from him and all the support from everyone! The rear of the body tuck under a bracket and it sounds like a sketchy way to attach it but it is very secure and it would have to be a very traumatic wreck for it to come undone! AS far as the dust and dirt the one has the cockpit covering the internals and then the bod covers that up rather well the there will be some dust getting tin but the vast majority of it will be kept out. The body comes off rather easily and the way the velcro is tucked up in there it is protected from the dust and debris as well. It sounds odd but looks like it will work very well!

I am super happy to have the whole lot of them now! It was a huge surprise when Keith reached out and said he wanted to send it over to me! I am extremely grateful for it and now this set is complete it is time to work on sourcing the last two dragons in I need to finish that part of it. I need to get (or make) a Super Storm Dragon and also need to find an original Saint Dragon which was released on the Madcap chassis. The storm dragon should be easy enough but the original Saint dragon will be a very hard one to find as many have been sold to make Madcaps out of! One of these days I will find one, just a matter of stumbling over it at the right time! I appreciate your support of the channel as well, it is equally appreciated as you guys keep me going!
@@AddamsPlayground the super storm dragon is available at RCMart for a very reasonable price. Never knew that the Saint Dragon was originally on a MadCap chassis. You learn something new everyday!😊 Hope you’ll find a reasonably priced one someday.👍

Thanks! It really is a great looking one and should be a good runner too! I intended to get out with it this weekend but Saturday was too busy and Sunday was too cold and I was recovering from all the work on Saturday!! It was a really great surprise when Keith said he wanted to send it over to me and I really do appreciate it. I also appreciate the support of everyone else as well. Everyone taking the time to watch and comment really makes it much more fun!!
The Terra scorcher is probably my most favorite car. 32 years ago i bought a fire dragon with my first savings bcs i couldn't afford a Terra Scorcher and i had lots of fun with it (until the fatal accident involving a real semi truck... LOL)
When i entered the hobby back again a year ago, the Terra scorcher was the first one (together with the Fire Dragon and Grasshopper II for the same nostalgic reasons) that i bought.
Now i got 3 Terra scorchers. 1 shelf-queen (with the golden wheels!) and 2 runners.
It really is an awesome buggy!! Not too often you can get good looks and great driving out of a car, usually one is sacrificed for the other but this is a great all around package! I am sorry to here about the original fire dragon, may it rest in pieces... I am glad to hear you got back into it and got yourself another one! Nobodies RC memories should end with a flat car!! I have seen these with the gold wheels and they do look pretty snazzy on there!!
@@AddamsPlayground after i bought the GHII as a replacement, i also did inventorize the good and bad parts. Electronics, gears and hardware where still good. Even the dempers mainly survived. The upper and lower arms where also still usable.
Depending on the pocketmoney i recieved, i ordered sprew by sprew, hot shot rear wheels and a monster beetle body kit.
After a while, i had a car that kinda looked like the Blitzer beetle. LOL.

Thank you, I love the look of this one and I always thought it was cool but once I got it built I was really impressed with it! I love watching Keith's videos and I have seen so many amazing kits on there I have never seen before and some I have never hear do before!!! It i an amazing collection and to see all those cool cars in one place s a real treat! Certainly videos I wait all week for!!!

It was a head scratcher as usually they would have a mark on the body or something so I had to figure out some way of noting where it should be!

Thanks John! We only got breezy and really rainy weather where I am but we got soaked for sure! No damage and all is well. Soon after the cold moved in with another batch of rain and it has been chilly since! I am fine with the chilly, cold and rainy is never fun. The Terra Scorcher turned out very nice indeed and I am extremely thankful to Keith for sending this to me to round out the Thunder Shot collection. I am also very grateful to you and everyone that is always here supporting me, it is very much appreciated!

I am blessed for all the great support from everyone, big and small! I was shocked when he reached out and offered it to me and I am so glad he did! I have no idea why I was holding out getting this kit, it is gorgeous! They really nailed it when they designed this one and it is even cooler looking in your hands! hopefully I will have time to get it out on the track this weekend. I think it is going to really do well out there!!

@@n22pdf I love the TRX4 Bronco, I just can't justify the cost for another crawler.. at least not right now! The BH Wild One is a fun build and the first ever where step one was decals! Once I got past that brain breaker moment I had a good time with it!! Enjoy both of them and I am sure the Bronco is going to be a ton of fun! What color did you get?

Hey Pete!! It was a wonderful surprise and very generous of Keith to reach out and send this over to me! He is a really great guy and has an absolutely fantastic collection of RCs that I have learned a ton from!! This buggy is terrific looking and I did not know how great looking until it was all done and I sat back looking at it! It is right up there with the Thunder Shot for sure! It is well outfitted also with the rear sway bar, the universals all the way around and the full ball bearings it is a great package! I also want to thank you for you support as you, among many others, are always here to lend tips and tricks and are always very supportive of me and the channel and that is very much appreciated!!

You have the complete set! Reminds me of the joy when you've completed a set of bubble gum trading cards.
They are a very cool set of buggies for sure! A lot of character spread across a small set of cars. It is too bad the TD4 did not get such a great reception in the west. That car has so much quirky character! I just hope Tamiya do not see it as a failure and stop making new "character buggies" as a result.
I am very happy to have the full set of them and much thanks to Keith for making it happen! You are right, there was a lot of cool designs in this lineup, some really love and adored and others... well not so much by all!!! The poor Saint Dragon gets very little love! That is my next collection milestone to get the other two dragons I need. I need to get a Super Storm Dragon and an original Saint Dragon. The storm dragon should be easy enough, I can make one if I can't find one. The other however came out on the Madcap chassis and that one is next to impossible to find as so many were sold to replace madcap parts! One of these days it will happen, I am in no rush!
The TD4 flopped for various reasons. I was not a fan of the styling but shortly after I saw with the fenders removed and some creative painting it looked ok. The failure in my mind is basically requiring you to upgrade parts immediately when building it as the supplied parts failed and the way they designed the battery removal. If they had designed the car to run a shorty pack side ways across the chassis I may have gotten it. I don' mind buying a battery but I hate taking the body on and off something to change a battery I do not want to do teardown of the car to change it! There we a list of reasons I do not care for it and now that Revive RC has done the cool body for it I am almost inclined to try it but still hate the other short comings of it. It seemed rushed and forced to me. Much like this new BH Hotshot 2 they are releasing. Its the same thing, it feels rushed and unfinished.
Great video! I do love this family of cars and I really like this body styling. I have yet to build one but it’s on the list.

The rear wing part is really cool! It has a lot of features the others do not like the rear sway bar and the universal drive shafts and it even has bearings included so you know it is special!! LOL!!

The Terra Scorcher is the second best looking in the series, first being the Thunder Shot
I always though it was a good looking buggy but until I got it done and holding it in my hands I had no idea exactly how awesome it is!! It is a super cool buggy and it is right up there with the iconic Thundershot!! There is nothing I would change or tweak about it!
Dude your music selections keep me here! Please I love RC retro but I grew up with Guns and Roses, Kiss, and Ratt. I can't do it for my builds. Your selections are the bomb dude. Oh and I would never have guessed you would drop some trance house cuts on your build vid's
I try and keep it mixed up and put a little bit of everything across the videos. I enjoy all types of music and I grab tracks that appeal to me and then add them to the videos as they seem like they fit. I appreciate the feedback and I grew up on the same music but even then I found love for many others! I would be out cutting grass jamming to GNR or Motley Crue and then come inside to my dad playing Willie Nelson and then go to bed listening to the classic rock station and wake up to Bob Marley... all over the place!! Even know one day I am jamming to metal i the garage and the next day is a Skrillex playlist and it just goes all over from there!

It is a really great looking buggy! I like the odd and quirky looks of the dragons and I love the Thundershot but this is right up there it in looks! I have to go with the Thundershot just because I drooled over it in the magazines and catalogs back in the day!
Awesome buddy, it all started for me in the 80's with buggies. You probably remember the Turbo Hopper and Red Arrow from Radio Shack. Tamiya for buggies all the way. Great vid 👍
Thank you! Oh yeah, I had a Head's Up Turbo Hopper and few of the lower end Radio Shack RCs. I ran them until the super glue couldn't hold them together any longer!!! LOL! I did love Tamiya as a kid, they just were not in the budget! I am making up for it now though! I really appreciate Keith offering this one to me to finish out the Thunder Shot chassis collection! I also appreciate all the support from everyone else, the kind words and stories from everyone makes this so much more fun!!!

Yeah, I have learned a ton from his videos and love seeing all the cool and rare stuff he has. I have seen cars over there I have never even heard of much less got to see!!! It is like seeing new releases 30+ after they were released! He is also such a nice and friendly guy with a big heart!

We're nearly into summer in Oz and for the 1st time ever we've had the slow combination fire simmering at night to take the chill off the air, some days are absolutely perfect weather though. I'd rather the cold than the scorching heat any day.

IMO there’s something special about the Tamiya kits…when I started racing (in FL) there was a class for tamiya plastic chassis cars with silver can motors, kinda like a starter class (both 2 and 4wd classes). I really wish that was still the case. Many of us started racing there
I agree! I grew up in a small town with no racing, no real hobby shops and where tractors and hunting trucks outnumber RCs 100 to1!! I lived through the monthly magazines and all the adds in them. Tamiya cars always stood out as some of the coolest and I must have built more the 100000 imaginary builds thumbing through those magazines over and over again!! I really enjoy all of them and I really thank Keith for sending this one over to me to finish off the Thunder Shot chassis part of the collection. I also appreciate everyone else's support of the channel by watching and commenting! It really makes it fun and keeps me going!

Yeah, this have the universals all the way around, the front and rear sway bars and bearings so it is a really nice kit to get! I am going to try to get it out on the track this weekend if it warms up and I have time! I just got the driver finished up and installed yesterday afternoon and it looks awesome! I am extremely grateful to Keith for sending it over to me as well as everyone else's wonderful support!! I am blessed for sure!

Wow, Christmas came early. This car may be the best of the bunch in my opinion. It looks great, it has the cvd's and the sway bar. I know you put bearings in the car. I assume you had to buy those separately. Thanks for sharing.
It did! I always thought the Thunder Shot was the best of them and now that I have this one I think it is right there with it and does have a lot of goodies in there! It does come with the bearings (except for the 850 sized, that is still a bushing) I did swap out a few of them for the rubber shielded instead of the metal shielded that the kit has has included as I prefer them on exposed areas like the outdrives and wheel bearings. So you only need your radio gear and paint for this one. I did upgrade the motor to the Sport tuned as a kit this nice needs somethin more than the stock one! I greatly appreciate Keith deciding to send this over to finish off the TS chassis collection and I am super thankful for it! He really is and has so many cool vintage RCs, some of which I have never even heard of much less ever seen before! I was really surprised when he reached out and said he wanted to send this to me to finish out the Thunder Shot chassis collection! I greatly appreciate it as well as all the support from everyone else that watches and takes time to leave a comment!
Took me a whole day to build this in 1990 when i opened on xmas. I had to then rebuild rear gear box as it was too stiff.
I remember that frenzied excitement of getting a new RC to build as a kid! I still get it a little from time to time still! There is just something magical about setting all the parts out, slowly watching the parts trees thin out and then you end up with a cool new car or truck in the end! I love the build! No worries on having to rebuild it, we have all been there at least once! I still have to tear things down from time to time to double check things!

I haven't built anything on this chassie yet but looks like a cool little buggy
If you get one, this is the most feature loaded of them! The Thunder Shot is more of an icon and looks great but this one both looks great but has the rear sway bar, upgraded universal axles all the way around and comes with ball bearing so you get a lot with it! I am very thankful to Keith for sending this over to me to complete the TS chassis collection! It was a really fun build and it finished really nicely and looks a lot better now that the driver figure and cockpit are are installed! Thanks as well for being apart of the channel and you support as well! It is appreciated as well!!

Yes, I have been very blessed for sure!! Keith is a great guy and really surprised me when he offered it to me! It is a great buggy and drive really well! there are 5 in the series - the Thunder Shot, Thunder Dragon, Terra Scorcher, Fire Dragon and the Saint Dragon. In most kits the new tires smell is nice, there have been a few where they smelled a bit funky!

@@nomusicrc Tamiya does what they do... Sometimes it makes sense and other times it makes very little if none at all!!
I'm going to put my 4600 in mine or if it doesn't work too well I got a 3600 I can put in it now I've seen them run on 4000.
thats alot of grease in those gearboxes
Yeah, as you can tell I am not a fan of "lightly" greasing things! It firms up the diffs and gives me a bit more steering when clawing out of corners plus I never have to worry about not having lubrication in there! I have never been a fan of painting on the grease.
He's never gifted me anything.
yeah, I was not expecting this at all and very happy he sent this over to me. I don't think he is intending to make this a normal thing at all, I think it just happened to work out the way it did.

It is a great looking buggy and I am sure it will drive wonderful as well. I hope to get it out this weekend if I have time to. These short cold days really limit the window of time I have to get things done and still have light out to do fun things!!!
