Oh for the days of the trash bag house, with all those bags of vintage goodness. Keep trying, you just never know when the next treasure trove will pop up.😊
I would love to trash pick also, but it’s very slim pickings around here in Central New Jersey and I just don’t have big enough vehicle to fit the things that I would like to take.
Illinois here, our town last year garbage company was bought out by big company and we are no longer allowed to have any garbage outside of the trash bin they provided. No more big items and only one bin or we are charge a lot extra.
Mystery solved! The drones probably found that elusive World's Fair radio! Just watched your most recent video. The dancing Mr. Bean had me giggling, you are too talented too with your editing!

Probably all the attics, basements, spare rooms etc are still empty and the people shove their stuff into all these storage rooms, and there will be new curb finds when the rooms are overflowing again.

Can’t believe no one would take them for free! I would’ve gladly paid the shipping for vinyl in good condition! You couldn’t donate them either? Some of the inserts and paper covering the albums are worth some serious money. Hope you look into it before using as packaging again.

Trash picking for me has always been luck rather than strategy. The only times I deliberately go out are on bulky pickup day ... and when the college students are coming in during August, or leaving during May. If you want to try opening all the trash cans on a block - you could get yourself a shopping cart, some grimy clothes, and go incognito. If people bother you, you can talk to yourself or yell or something. But I bet you won't find much. Rotten hot dogs maybe. When I was in my teens, the town where I lived declared that all trash on the curb was town property. So it was technically illegal to filch. Not that it stopped us. It's great that you show this once in a while because I know people like it, but for 95% of people I bet it's the same. Our landfill here has a swap station where you can drop off or take things that are too good to be buried - if your landfill has that, maybe it's a different source to look at. I tell you what though, we all are a breed apart. It's not everyone who gets glum when they come home from digging in other people's trash and believe they have nothing to show for it :). Have a great Monday - only 8 more trash-picking days until Christmas!
The local dump has dumpsters that the drop-offs go into. People actually pay to drop their scrap off at the dump! If they would just leave it out on the curb, if allowed, they could save themselves some money. I have seen a few things, one was an antique hutch, tossed into the dumpster - ugh. I don't think there is a way to buy anything that was tossed in and if it's not at the top of the pile, it's a bit of a fall down into the dumpster. That's one way to dumpster dive! I have something you MIGHT be interested in. This is a serious offer, and I live in N.J.!
My niece gave me her husband's lightly used INVERSION TABLE. It's one of those things where you hang upside-down, and it relieves back pain. It's really in very good condition; not mint, but really very good shape. It's not a 'Teeter'- brand but still a good solid well made unit. Again, very little use, and definitely has some value left in it. It folds up to move or store. I'll meet you more than halfway, on Rt. 78, if you're interested. I doubt it would fit in your car, but easily in T.S.'s van.
Let me know if you're interested!
