    Why was Toronto surprised at a warning? They're the ones who left their dugout first. I understand when people are grumpy after just being hit and then warned, but this makes sense (if you're not going to straight up eject players).

    • @swoosh1428
      @swoosh1428 2 года назад +2

      What’s the solution then if not the annoying warning? Clearly one or BOTH teams are agitated. Someone is going to throw inside after the macho show. So warn after that? After both teams get a chance to buzz the tower? The men in black are only following what MLB tells them to do. What’s your plan?

    • @mikek6658
      @mikek6658 2 года назад +1

      @@swoosh1428 I get the umps arent to blame there doing their job. I'm saying it's simple. If the ump thinks the batter was thrown at intentionally. Eject him. The pitcher can pitch inside and try to move the hitter off the plate but if it's an obvious message pitch or retaliation pitch . Eject him. Warning for what? It's already in the rule book about hitting batters intentionally

    • @swoosh1428

      @@mikek6658 I think the idea behind the dreaded warning is to head off a bean ball BEFORE it happens. Determining intent is always tricky and always questioned. A warning is designed to get pitchers "intent" to get outs and not send messages.
