1:40 is my favorite part. The way they tease you like "we're gonna give you exactly what you're anticipating, but you're not ready for it yet" is so boss.
I LOVE how all of the variations of the battle theme keep things feeling fresh because its not repetitive like the original was to the ear. It really amazes me that they understand how important SOUNDTRACK is to any game, especially remakes that are going to need to still do their best to appeal to the original fans. And they did not disappoint.
That tease before the full ff7 remake battle theme, and yet the tease is just as good as the full one. The music team on this game was phenomenal and definitely lived up to continuing uematsu sans music
this is why I love JRPGs, music is front and fucking center, the rhythm of everything is dictated through the music, not just something to set the mood
Can't tell you the amount of goosebumps I got once this track started playing on my first playthrough of the game. Did a damn good job on the soundtrack
I know other games do this too but I love that there's the lower version of the theme running the entire time and when combat begins it kicks into a more intense version, keeping the battle theme running the entire time but bringing it out in full force for each encounter. So much better than how the theme would start from the beginning each time in the original.
Love how the entire segment is about Cloud running through the streets of Midgar, knowing there's a big group of soldiers somewhere trying to track him down. I guess the battle theme never really kicking up represents that there's danger all around you, but it's never the main threat. Only when the main group arrives that you have no choice but fight all off them, and that's when the music plays in its full glory. Amazing design! Also, is it just me, or Cloud's attacks at 1:04 perfectly times with the music for a good couple of seconds there?
I dont know if it’s the same in English, but it’s so good in Japanese when you “pause” the game to select abilities, and you can hear the echoes of the voices of the other characters screaming, with this music in the background. Tifa in Japanese is especially epic when she screams her attacks.
This is one of the best battle music from the remake, I love the industrial sound in the middle of it! Edit: I mean the part at 1:20 sounding industrial.
The tease to not give the full theme until the very end is as such a smart move by the team and made that final bout extra exciting. “Lets dance, asshole!”
Quando era criança jamais imaginaria que teria esse lindo Remake como essa música linda 😍 No PS1 era mais difícil e bem divertido igual da nova geração
If I had the items...I would have totally grinded here. The tense moment of not knowing what was around the corner and this music had me so hype. I dont care how many squads they had hiding in the shadows... COME AT ME BRO!!!
Seeing your favourite game of all time be remade, fighting through a very memorable sequence, and being teased with this new OST? You understand that it's a remake, it's modern, so it's not that really a big of a deal, but it still pluck a few heartstrings. And when that music hits at the crux of the sequence, the most memorable of all where it's the first time you see a cinematic sequence WHILE INGAME, like it's a movie, it's just so damn perfect. The composer knew perfectly well how important and epic that would've been for the OG fans.
and just think...we havent even heard what Golden Saucer, Secret Of The Deep Sea, From The Edge Of Despair, The Highwind Takes To The Skies, Fort Condor (official unless theyll use the card game version), Rufus' Welcoming Ceremony, Costa Del Sol, Mark Of A Traitor, Cosmo Canyon, Lifestream, The Great Warrior, Cid's Theme, Words Drowned By Fireworks, Forested Temple, Listen , The Cries Of , e Plane, Buried In , ow, The North Cave, Reunion, Who... Am I, Attack Of The Weapon, Launching A Dream Into Space, Jenova Complete, Birth of a God, One winged Angel, The Planet's Crisis, and the Ending Credits Will sound like. So yeah basically what the rest of the OST will sound like, lawd i cant wait. then ill more than likely replay them all together all over again. Well never have another remake like this. Great Job SQUARE ENIX
This is what happens when the devs actually gives 2 fucks in OST as well. Now it's a old school thing but many years ago the OST where really important and the 100% care was given. I'd love to see the same care in other games as well and more often
@@TheGintama86 That's skill and knowledge. You knew how to play the characters, what materia was best, and what each boss was weak to. I can say that I went back to remake after rebirth and beat Weiss first try, a boss I had previously never won against.
So most of us agree that this OST is fire. *BUT.* What if they remade this entire arrangement using FF7's soundfont? :D Not just Let The Battles Begin, but the entire Breakthrough sequence? That'd be awesome, I bet.
la version del minuto 1:20 debio haber sido el soundtrack de batalla de todo el juego ,no solo de esta parte del inicio es mil veces mejor que la original de ps1 y el remake de esa misma en esta version
I played the original. The music is spot-on. Bear in mind that Nobue was brought in as a consultant and composer for the game as well. You're crazy if you think the team working on the arrangement didn't seek his guidance during development.
@@TheComebackKing20 I agree with you. And the crazy thing is that you can _hear_ some of the old robotic/industrial elements in this piece; so if that was what he was referring to, he doesn't have a real complaint, I suppose. This piece really does benefit from the full orchestra treatment.
I could feel the nostalgia and I didn't even play FF7 before this. What an absolute thrill
You should definitely play the original, the bad graphics don’t even matter since the story is that good
@@mr.mcnuggies the graphics hold up imo, styalized enough that they don't look bad to me
Welcome to the hype train, and remember: there ain't no getting off this train we're on!
@@mr.mcnuggies It's worth getting a _couple_ of mods to play the game with, but only after a vanilla playthrough.

So true
Absolutely. Like they keep using the same handful of tracks but change it up so that each version sounds fresh and unique
Too bad they don’t want us to hear it on our own time

Yeah, right?! It just took my breath away.
5:10 so good i was so excited when this happened
How do I find the battle theme with this opening
@@Jaysmoke50I’ve been asking myself the same question and this video is the closest I’ve gotten without the sounds of battle.
I enjoy this buildup, it's like daredevil acrobat circus music in a good way
This part was so cool; love how they timed the music in the beginning of the battle followed by the buildup.
I know other games do this too but I love that there's the lower version of the theme running the entire time and when combat begins it kicks into a more intense version, keeping the battle theme running the entire time but bringing it out in full force for each encounter. Exactly
Frrri absolutely love this game omdsss
yesss…!
probably one of the best videogame RPG battle themes ever

Someone said this track gives goosebumps. Pretty damn accurate. Especially at 1:20, and with those chimes!! Too good
This is one of the reasons this game is so replayable, for the music alone!!! Hearing this immediately makes me want to start from the beginning again
Easily one of the best, if not THE BEST arrangement of Let the Battles Begin ever created!

Yes!
Those attacks did sync which was dope to see! I didn't notice until I read your comment.
We’re reaching levels of epic that shouldn’t even be possible
Everything about this track and the beginning and when how it builds up to the part at 5:25 where it is so good.
It is godly omdssss SquareEnix is incredible

I screamed. And then tears came afterwards
Only this game makes you wait two hours for the OG battle theme, and delivers it in an even better way than you thought possible.

They nailed it! I thought they wouldn’t be able to incorporate those sounds but they sure did!
0:54 best part
The soundtrack is by far the best part of the remake, and this track is good reason why.
The tease to not give the full theme until the very end is as such a smart move by the team and made that final bout extra exciting.
